Samhain Herb Bundle

Hello!

I've become very interested in foraging and growing my own herbs. As Samhain approaches (Oct. 31st), I hang these herbs and flowers to dry. Over this next month, I will focus my intention on reconnecting with myself and my ancestors before me.

This herb bundle will have:

Cedar leaves and bark - cleansing, healing, protecting

Marigolds (Calendula) - prophecy and rebirth

Rosemary - connection to ancestors

Sage (grown in my garden) - protecting and cleansing

Cinnamon sticks - prosperity

Dried orange slices - divination and luck

Once dry, tie together with cotton or other natural string.

As Samhain approached, the veil thins and our connection to the other side becomes clearer. Now is the time to celebrate our roots, connect with our ancestors, and celebrate the Witch's new year.

As we move into the final season, the life around us begins to die, awaiting rebirth next spring. We have much to learn from this cycle of death and birth. In this time I attract peace and prosperity, while paying respects to those I have lost. I set intentions for the new year, and prepare to rest as the weather grows cold.

an altar is like a temple in miniature, a diorama if you will, that contains small representations of the different types and directions of energy, categorized as elements: earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. These elements correspond to the suits of the Minor Arcana in the tarot. ☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

In Wicca:

✡Water is represented by the ritual cup, or chalice, which is just a Christian word for cup. In the Minor Arcana, the cup (water) is a mystical shorthand for emotions.☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

✡Earth is represented by a pentacle, or five-pointed star, constructed of a natural substance, like wood or metal. In the Minor Arcana, the pentacle references foundational matters of physical practicality, labor, and money.☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

✡Air is often represented by an athame, a ceremonial witch knife, usually dark-handled (as opposed to the boline, a traditional white-handled witch knife used for everyday things like cutting herbs or carving), or by a sword (if you have that kind of space and you like LARPing). In the Minor Arcana air is represented by the blade, which is meant to indicate the uncanny quality of thought and language as tangible forces in the world, cutting through space. Which, incidentally, is what people actually do with their blades in ritual: point them as if to cut through the air, thereby directing energy.☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

✡Fire element is represented by a wand. Wands are usually about a foot long, give or take, composed of wood, metal, precious stones, or some combination thereof. In the Minor Arcana wands (fire) are used similarly for directing energy, and in Wiccan liturgy, they are meant to symbolize one's deeds and actions. (some folks like to reverse the two and use wands for air and thought and knife/sword for fire and action) ☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

✡Spirit is the animating force, often represented by the image of some deity.☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

Keep in mind, use what best resonates with your style. ☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟ

Signs a Spirit Has Visited Your Dream

Whatever you were dreaming about previously comes to an abrupt stop, and a change in vibrational frequency occurs after the spirit appears.

The dream becomes more lucid, and you are able to act consciously and communicate effectively with the spirit. 

Your sensory perceptions become clearer.

The dream’s scenery reverts back to your room, and you see the spirit inside your room or beside your bed.

After the spirit has given you an important message, you wake up between 3-4 AM. 

You will instantly be able to recognise the spirit, often telepathically hearing it’s name.

Upon waking up, you are able to recount the dream in great detail.

The dream is accompanied by the spirit’s symbolism, especially if it is a deity.

You meet the spirit through a door or gateway - the astral threshold. 

Depending on what kind of spirit has visited you, you may wake up feeling drained and with a headache.
