Every time I look at a mountain, whether it be on a cool and foggy morning where the dewy haze highlights the dips and hollow valleys along the range, or the mid-afternoon sun hits the peaks just right the highlight and contrast then sharp peaks and crags, or even just gazing longingly at them from a distance on a day just after the fresh snow, to see the pale glistening blankets that cover them, I am always filled with such violent and undeniable elation. It feels right to be in a place where I can admire their towering heights and indomitable might.
