hey guys! this is the full version of my chain of gold edit :) I hope u guys enjoyed it hehe, it’s my first time editing a video, so I apologize if it’s not very good. BUT, please leave ur opinions on it! I really had so much fun making it, so maybe (?) there might be more coming ;)

PSA - theres a whispering room scene in here. KINDA. it features kiera knighlty and james mcavoy, and ik that kiera isn’t a redhead or persian, but I watched that scene and only got reminded of jordelia <3 also apologies if there isn’t a lot of “cordelia” representation here, I tried to find more redheads, but I thought it was more important to show that cordelia was a poc, so there’s a part where we see golshifteh farahani (whos persian) but unfortunately she doesn’t have red hair :(

So I was scrolling through Cassie’s REALLY old post, like pre clockwork prince old and I found this and i’m scared.

This quote in particular: “Secret marriages, arranged marriages, people being secretly dead, people being secretly other people: the family tree doesn’t reflect any of that. In fact, some of the most important characters (One of whom is a certain JH’s parabatai) don’t appear on the family tree at all.”

That’s a lot of info, let’s break it down.

First of all, Matthew Fairchild has been removed from the family tree. There are other people who have been removed from the tree as well.

Why was Matthew removed?

A) Because he’s gay. All evidence leads to him being gay and I don’t doubt it. Even if you don’t, the evidence is still there. (4 LGBT main (ish) protagonists in The Last Hours) The Clave also doesn’t seem to be fond of LGBT people, especially in 1903.

B) He did something against the law. If he broke a serious enough rule, he could be exiled and removed from shadowhunter history.

C) He married a mundane. Maryse’s brother Max (the namesake of her son) was removed from the family tree and stricken of his ruins because of said marriage, did the same happen to Matthew? Cassie also said Matthew is in love in the beginning of the book, is the subject of his love a mundane?

Second: her list. Cassie has a VERY specific list here, almost toooo specific.

1) Secret Marriages

2) Arranged Marriages (James and Cordilia? Cassie did say that there are strange reasons behind their union added to that Will all ready wants Lucie to marry Alistair, James and Cordilia would work as well for that purpose)

3) people be secretly dead (or alive in Jesse Blackthorn’s case)

4) people being secretly other people (Tessa’s ability could come into play?)

It seems like the Clave really is covering up alot.
