rewatching dead poets and mona lisa smile for the billionth time
getting drunk off of wine by yourself and waking up to your drunken scribbled notes in the margins of your favorite book
comparing different film versions of emma and of pride and prejudice
compiling a new playlist for you to study and read to
worshipping the moon and stars
watching films in foreign languages and calling it studying
ancient greek notes and current reads
dark academia is basically what happens when you combine the chaotic energy of slytherins and ravenclaws
not me romanticizing my classes and pretending I’m a novelist in the 18th century about to publish my first draft when in fact I am just sitting in my dorm with a blank Google Doc
i think as a society we should bring back fancy dinner parties where you listen to classical music and discuss the shakespearean sonnets and the romantics & philosophical debates held by literary societies full of dedicated students who are passionate about critical theory and aestheticism & poetry readings in jazz cafés that last well into the night and leave you with a sense of having shared an intimate experience with strangers because all of you have felt the same words echo in your soul
