Homura Akemi is a better example of a character who's arc centers her love interest

Warning! Madoka Magica spoilers!

Homura’s entire arc, her motivations, it all centers around Madoka, just like how that’s how it is for Vaggie.

However, Homura actually has a versatility of emotions. We also know her relationships with other characters and how she feels about them. We also know the full extent to what she’d do for Madoka. We’ve seen her do horrible things for the sake of Madoka, even having to kill her in one timeline to save her. We see her go through change, from a shy, unconfident transfer student, to a cold, calculating warrior. We see how her love for Madoka affects her, even in some of the worst, most painful ways possible and turns into an obsession.

Vaggie though? She’s.. mean, she’s.. loyal. She loves Charlie. What’s her relationships like with the other characters? Idk, she doesn’t seem to like them though. She only wants to support Charlie’s dreams. Why? Idk, don’t ask. We don’t see a change from her being an exorcist to her now. She has nothing going for her but Charlie. And that’s treated as a VIRTUE.

Panel three: Bill floats out of his chair, shaking with rage, as he says, "WHAT! AND JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU THINK YOU COULD DO ANY BETTER, BUSTER?!"

Panel four: we see over Bill's shoulder as he glares at Aku from Samurai Jack, who's sitting in another chair, also wearing the Theraprism prison uniform, giving Bill the smuggest smirk you've ever seen.

Panel five: still smug as hell, Aku says, "WELL, SINCE YOU ASKED..."

I think the funniest thing you could do to the "give me liberty or give me universal omnicide!" guy who tried & failed to conquer Earth is stick him in group therapy with the guy who successfully conquered & tyrannically oppressed earth for thousands of years.

A few weeks ago in one of my servers we got asked "what other villains do you think could hold their own against Bill in a fight?" and then "what other characters do you think would get sent to Theraprism?" at almost the same time and I haven't been able to stop thinking about subjecting Bill & Aku to each other since.
