write down everything that u wanna manifest (think big, absolutely nothing is off-limits for you)
write down all of ur limiting beliefs (especially the ones that you've held onto for a long time)
write out affirmations that are the inverse of ur limiting belief (example : if ur limiting belief was that money was hard to come by or money doesn't grow on trees -> the affirmation you'd write would be "money grows on trees")
affirm every single day at LEAST once. its recommended to repeat ur affirmations bcuz then ur affirming and persisting though. the more u affirm + persist the quicker it'll reprogram ur subconscious mind
A little collection of late autumn abundance to keep you warm through the darker months ✨️🐓
I cannot believe the garden year is almost over, but I am also ready for some inside time, painting and reading by the fire.
Khernips, or Lustral Water, is a mixture used in Hellenic Polytheism to ritually wash away miasma. It is not hard to make, and is an incredibly rewarding addition to any ritual.
To make it you’ll need a few things on hand:
Fresh water (I use tap water, but if you can manage spring water is even better)
Sea Water (if you don’t have this, you can use a sea salt and water mixture)
Dried herbs (I sometimes don’t have access to herbs, and just use a lit match)
A lighter/match
Bowl
Towel
So to make it, you mix together your fresh water and sea water, and then you light your herbs and drop them in. Some people use incense opposed to matches or herbs as well.
“When throwing in the lit item, one can utter ‘Xerniptosai’ (pronounced ‘zer-nip-TOS-aye-ee’) which translates as ‘Be purified’.“ Source: Baring the Aegis
After you’ve finished preparing it, you can choose to ask one of the Theoi to bless it, especially a water/sea related Theos. Then you wash your hands in face with it, and dry off.
Y’all I want to throw massive kudos out to the Roger Williams Park Zoo for a choice they made today: rather than joining in on a GenAI trend all the zoos are doing right now, they chose to support and spotlight an artist on their staff!
The big thing right now is these GenAI “figurine toys” of zookeepers or zoo management. And instead they shared a version drawn by one of their staff!
Go give them some love, if you’re on FB. Too many zoos are really getting into GenAI and just whitewashing the climate change / copyright issues that come with it, so I want this zoo to get as much positive feedback as we can muster for making a better choice.
Bitches be like ‘I’m so tired and sleepy’ and then stay up doing hyperfixtation shit for the next 5 hours
Classics students are the most fucking insufferable people. You make one reference to mythology, and they jump on you like a pack of wolves, looking for one mistake that they can correct. If you tell them you like a myth retelling, they automatically tell you how horrible the research/characterization was. And God help you if you mention an Ovidism or some other Roman interpretation of myth and say it's actually how the Greeks thought.
-me about myself, a classics student
O swift-footed Hermes, cunning and wise,
Born in the hills ‘neath the wild-roaming skies.
Son of the Thunderer, fleet as the breeze,
Running the hollers, slipping through trees.
Patron of rogues with a grin full of light,
Guiding the lost in the dead of the night.
Hand of the wanderer, voice of the tongue,
Silver-lipped speaker, forever unsung.
You taught us the ways of the barter and trade,
Showed us the roads and the trails that you laid.
You smile at the sly and the sharp-minded kin,
The fox in the henhouse, the luck that we win.
Breaker of locks and opener wide,
Bringer of blessings that cannot be tied.
Oft have I prayed when my feet found the road,
And oft have you lightened my wearying load.
Keeper of gates where the pale spirits go,
Leading them on where the cool rivers flow.
Friend of the dying, whose hands take their own,
Walking beside them, yet never alone.
Come now, O Hermes, by firelight’s glow,
Under these mountains so ancient they know.
Grant me your cunning, your laughter, your grace,
A quicksilver blessing to carry my pace.
Hail to you, Hermes, swift-footed and free,
Guide of the roads and the hollers to me!

Within Hellenic polytheism, prayers in supplication or thanksgiving typically contain elements of a recognisable formula, the purpose of which is to gain the attention of a god/s most appropriate to your request or words of thanks with justification or explanation for the prayer:
Greeting and call to god/s
Naming epithets/cult titles and favoured shrines or places
Invocation of kharis
Request or thanksgiving
Farewell
Constructing prayers within this framework can be as elaborate or simple as your need requires. The greater the need the longer and more flattering the prayer.
But how to recognise this formula in traditional prayers in order to construct one of your own? I’ve outlined a few examples and colour-coordinated the key points to match the formula above.
Ready for some colour vomit? Let’s go …
Hear me, you of the silver bow, you who stand in protection over Chryse and holy Killa, and who rule Tenedos with your might, Smintheus, if ever I placed a roof on your lovely temple, or if ever I burned for you the fat thighs of bulls or of goats, grant me this request: let the Danaans pay for my tears with your arrows. Iliad 1.37-42
Now, queen of the land of sweet Eleusis and sea-girt Paros and rocky Antron, lady, giver of good gifts, bringer of seasons, queen Deo, be gracious, you and your daughter all beauteous Persephone, and for my song grant me heart-cheering substance. And now I will remember you and another song also. Homeric Hymn to Demeter
Zeus, thou king, Dodonaean, Pelasgian, thou that dwellest afar, ruling over wintry Dodona,—and about thee dwell the Selli, thine interpreters, men with unwashen feet that couch on the ground. Aforetime verily thou didst hear my word, when I prayed: me thou didst honour, and didst mightily smite the host of the Achaeans; even so now also fulfill thou for me this my desire. Myself verily will I abide in the gathering of the ships, but my comrade am I sending forth amid the host of the Myrmidons to war: with him do thou send forth glory, O Zeus, whose voice is borne afar, and make bold the heart in his breast, to the end that Hector, too, may know whether even alone my squire hath skill to fight, or whether his hands then only rage invincible, whenso I enter the turmoil of Ares. But when away from the ships he hath driven war and the din of war, thea all-unscathed let him come back to the swift ships with all his arms, and his comrades that fight in close combat. Iliad 16.233-248
Deathless Aphrodite of the spangled mind, child of Zeus, who twists lures, I beg you do not break with hard pains, O lady, my heart, but come here if ever before you caught my voice far off and listening left your father’s golden house and came, yoking your car. Sappho Ode to Aphrodite
Kindly Zeus, Ombrios, bringer of rain, and you Maimaktes who clouded over, I thank you for the life-bringing rains and the warm moist air that my plants love. But I thank you most of all for protecting my home from your damaging winds and the strike of thunder. May you always grant me shelter and fertile soils. Prayer to Zeus after a summer storm
as an asexual person, the explanation listed from that Reddit post was atrocious. That is not what it means at all. I deeply hope they have just explained it wrong and don't actually think what they've said is true. Here's a helpful explanation of why some asexuals still do have sex (I even got it from Reddit to match) :
this exchange between OP & a sane commenter under yet another "I'm asexual but I still like sex sometimes" post is such a perfect example of what I've been talking about. some women nowadays are identifying as asexual because their view of sex has been so horribly warped by porn & misogyny. I mean she is quite literally saying "being asexual gives me an excuse to not have sex w/my partner if I don't want it "...girl you shouldn't need an excuse to not fuck your bf when you aren't in the mood. the validity of your consent is not at all dependant on what label you use! what a fucking horrible sign of the times that young women think they are the abnormal ones for not wanting to give their men an all access pass to their bodies.
Hey *hand on shoulder* you know that Greece, along with most of the balkan countries, has been under ottoman turkish rule for more than 400 years? You know that Greece today has many economic problems today, despite it's history being rich?
You know that Greece is very prone to forest fires and natural disasters?
Also, do you know that Greece, along with Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Montenegro... They are all protesting against corruption, and no one talked about it.
You talk about wanting to have temples to worship in modern day, but you don't care about the land that those temples would be built on?
Greece may be an Orthodox Christian country. But trust me, the gods are still very much living there. Their spirit is still there. Poseidon is still ruling the waves, Zeus is still watching over in the sky, Demeter is taking care of the crops.
All i am asking is... Spread awareness. I am saying this on behalf of my greek friend, firstly, who has complained to me about their issues not being heard. LEARN HISTORY. STUDY CURRENT WORLD EVENTS. SEND LOVE TO THE LAND OF GREECE, WHO HAS ENDURED GREAT HARDSHIPS.
