1882 Evening Dress; French. Designed by Charles Frederick Worth.
“Worth designed gowns which were works of art that implemented a perfect play of colours and textures created by meticulously chosen textiles and trims. The sheer volume of the textiles he employed on each dress is testimony to his respect and support of the textile industry. Worth’s creative output maintained its standard and popularity throughout his life. The business continued under the direction of his sons, grandsons and great-grandsons through the first half of the twentieth century.“

hello everyone. Here’s the worst thing you’ll see this week:
“To achieve perfection in writing while retaining naturalness it was important to write a great deal, to write fluently, as the pianist practices the piano, rather than to correct constantly one page until it withers. To write continuously, to try over and over again to capture a certain mood, a certain experience. Intensive correcting may lead to monotony, to working on dead matter, whereas continuing to write and to write until perfection is achieved through repetition is a way to elude this monotony, to avoid performing an autopsy. Sheer playing of scales, practice, repetition — then by the time one is ready to write a story or a novel a great deal of natural distillation and softing has been accomplished.”

being sensitive isn't a drawback
often people who are sensitive by nature are told to harden themselves up emotionally. they are told not to feel so much else it'll be difficult to live in this harsh world.
being sensitive is not something to be ashamed of. you have an added gentleness to your nature in these times when everything is a bit more rough than required.
make your sensitivity your most prized possession and value it instead of feeling low about it. be proud of your feelings. care as much as you do. that's what makes you the beautiful person that you are ✨
