π Send this to the twelve nicest people you know or who seem to have a good heart, and if you get five back you must be pretty awesome π
I waited way too long to do this (sry) but now itβs time to spam some unsuspecting humans!!
A very messy "comic" about Donnie, Casey, and their potentially unhealthy codependency on each other- π€π
I'm so sorry for the way this looks, but this week and next week are going to be pretty hectic for me, and I didn't know when I would get to post again-! So I just wanted to finish something before the week began-! ππ
I'll definitely do more (And objectively better-) art of this concept in the future, but I really really enjoy the concept of Donnie starting out as the very unhealthily invested one out of the two of them and that behavior kind of imprinting on Casey in a way? Or even if it wasn't imprinting, it's possible that Casey started to mirror these behaviors because of his own insecurities and issues (i.e. Struggling with parental neglect and being abandoned frequently-), not to mention the fact that Donnie made him feel safe to do so- You know what I mean? Which in turn would cause Donnie to begin having this self-reflection or epiphany about their relationship and his role to play in this current dynamic (With the help of Raph, since I feel like he would very bluntly point this out- But out of love, of course-),, Thus leading Donnie to break up with Casey. π
But I also like the concept of this breakup, because of the contrasting perspectives both of them have with it. From Donnie's perspective, he's trying to do better and do right by Casey. Donnie now knows / fully understands that enabling this kind of relationship between them was bad, and he's trying to rectify that mistake by giving them both the space and time that they need to heal from any damage that was caused. But from Casey's perspective, he feels like he's being punished for finally having the courage to be vulnerable and let his walls down- For giving in to the security that Donnie provided in this relationship,, it's really sad, but it's also really interesting to think about to me because I hate joy- /j LMAO
Gonna be honest there's like a 50/50 chance I might hold off on posting art until TikTok comes back bc I don't want to fuck up my posting schedule, but that depends entirely on how quickly the ban is lifted
Or I might just move to RedNote. My keyboard has a built-in translator so hopefully that helps me
Well I'm at least glad I was able to get a video over 18k views on TikTok before it got banned. That TAiAGotOS fanart was my god damn Magnum Opus
This is the same purple turtle who tries to murder a man in this episode btw
No, no, you need to give everyone the full picture:
Even better the full sequence:
(I love the way both their faces transition)
I can't even- Leo being like SO TICKED OFF and then giving Donnie that look after he catches him??? Happy silly little "hey bro I just saved you <3" As Donnie's just like "oh, thanks man"
I dunno how to describe it but it makes me feel all soft and mushy inside sfjsdkfjkdfsjkfhkssd THE BROTHERS EVER
Now that my Tokyo Ghoul AU is public I can finally talk about it in depth, so I'm actually gonna explain some of the worldbuilding and some of the creative liberties I took
Some of it is just expanding on certain aspects that I don't think were explained in the manga in full
Here we go:
So in the og story, there exists these things called Red Children cells, or rc cells (they're called this bc an individual cell look like a curled up fetus), and they're pretty integral to what does and doesn't make a person a ghoul. Splinter was originally a ghoul, but due to the mutation, his rc cells mutated, and were no longer registered as rc cells by his immune system
Shredder and Tang Shen were humans, and Karai would be born as a half-ghoul
Not only did the mutation eliminate Splinter's rc cells, it introduced them into the turtle's bodies for the first time, combining it with the mutagen. It's said that when a person's rc factor is high enough, they become a ghoul. It's never specified how high it must be, so I've made it an rc factor of 1000
Humans on average have an rc factor of 200 to 500, and ghouls have an average of 1,000 to 8,000
The turtle's factor was below 1,000. It isn't until they meet April that things take a turn
Now I'm admittedly making shit up here, but I'm headcannoning that April's psychic powers can work on a smaller level too. More contained emotional outbursts (like screaming in fear), can send some kind of psychic waves through the air that react with different things in mysterious ways. Here it sorta stimulates the mutagen-rc mixed cells floating around their bodies and causing them to multiply
This happens when Donnie catches her and she screams btw
At this point, the transformation has already started for all of them, but bc he's the one who spends the most time with her, Donnie's transformation happens a LOT quicker than his brothers
His is complete by that night, and his brother's finish in the early hours of the morning
There's more, but I've talked long enough lol
Hewwo have this silly little Donnie face I drew that I really like
Well I'm at least glad I was able to get a video over 18k views on TikTok before it got banned. That TAiAGotOS fanart was my god damn Magnum Opus

i love characters who do the βi worship the myth i make of youβ and in turn dehumanize and get wrong the object of their devotion and love. yes project a thing that does not exist onto a pedestal and kneel at it like it is your altar. this will surely not blow up in both of your faces eventually
