When the two musical geniuses you love THE MOST intertwine in the most beautiful display of love everrrrrrrr...people can say this is coincidence but A. coincidences are not real (only koincidences 😋) and B. Taylor is waaaaaay too smart and we know she is obsessed with 1975 and C. not the only 1975 reference on this album and others. For ex. robbers is/was her favourite song (matty dedicated it to her once when she was in inaudience), it is about passionate love destined for doom, Taylor “knew I was a robber”; Matty “just sat in self pity and cried in the car” when his love didn’t work out, Taylor “cried like a baby coming home from the bar”; matty “bite your face to spite your nose, 17 and a half years old”, Taylor “cut off my nose to spite my face” “it’s like I’m 17 nobody understands”...and for a stretch... matty in girls “a pair of frozen hands to hold”, Taylor “lost my gloves” (double work there, Carol ref also). And those are just ones I can pick off the top of my head without thinking too hard or actively listening for parallels. When you reference the band and especially the song playing when you were reputedly caught making out with your BFF...ummmmm? 👯‍♀️😘

hmmm in Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince these lines really pop out to me:

they whisper in the hallway she’s a bad bad girl (okay!) 

miss American and the heartbreak prince (okay!) 

To me, it sounds like she's agreeing with what they’re saying, even though she thinks it’s stupid...Even the tone she sings these phrases sounds super sarcastic to me, emphasized with the “okay!” I almost wonder if she’s singing as if Miss Americana iw Karlie and heartbreak prince is jerk. Tay’s singing  about the flaws in society with our standards of relationships and gender roles and how we give labels to everything...

She’s telling Karlie to come home, that she doesn’t want to go up against the forces that hold them apart because it’ll be painful and messy but she knows the struggle is going to be worth it. It would be so tempting to run away together, but they have too much riding on it all and they have to hold out and fight the good fight!

and yes, this is coming from someone who has been hospitalized several times, fully angry that a white billionaire can be her quirky silly i-need-a-lobotomy [insert a tiktok reference] self while simultaneously having access to every single health treatment in the world.

while the rest of the world struggles to have access to a diagnosis, medication or human rights pertaining mental health.

"you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me", no, taylor. YOU wouldn't last an hour in the real world, where private jets are only ever seen on television and mental illness often means you cannot get a fucking job.

it's very disheartening to see that Palestine or Gaza is no longer the highest trending tag on Tumblr so early on in Global Strike week, especially considering how many people have said they still need to work and buy food (100% valid, by the way). don't lose momentum. keep talking about what's happening. keep reblogging and sharing useful resources and information. we need the Palestinian people to know that we see what's happening to them, we care about what's happening to them and we stand with them. Percy Jackson and Tumblr Live are no where near as important as the genocide of Palestinian people.
