“There was a shadow that was drifting away from this warmly lit, peaceful city as if it were being ostracized.
It was so small that no one paid it any attention… Only the “moon” overlooking the bustling streets of this city seemed to watch over that shadow forever and ever.”

Yandere!Sonic Boom!Shadow with a reader who’s already in a relationship? 🫡
A/n: this is short, sorry!!
You always thought dating someone would be a blessing, having someone love you and you live them back? Perfect. And for the most part, it was. Your partner was kind, steady and caring. And you loved every bit of them.
But you had a problem.
Two problems, actually.
One was Sonic the Hedgehog.
The other was Shadow the Hedgehog.
Neither of them seemed to understand that you were in a relationship. Or maybe they just didn't care.
Sonic was always around, always showing up at the most inconvenient times, acting like your partner didn't even exist. Shadow, on the other hand, didn't show up as often, but when he did, he certainly made his presence known. His eyes would bore into yours like he could see past every flimsy excuse you made to keep him at a distance.
And the worst part? The two of them absolutely hated each other.
Sonic:
Sonic had always been friendly with you, but things had shifted ever since you got into a relationship. At first, you thought it was just him being his usual, overly confident self. But then the little things started happening.
Like how he'd coincidentally run into you and your partner whenever you went on dates.
"Oh, hey, fancy seeing you here!" he'd say, flashing that cocky grin as he skidded to a stop beside you. "Didn't think I'd uh... run into you again! What are the odds, huh?"
(They weren't. You knew he was following you.)
Or how he always managed to pull you away from your partner, leaving them baffled as Sonic whisked you off on some 'quick adventure' that lasted hours.
"C’mon Y/N, just one run around town! Just to how you how fast i am."
It didn't matter if you protested, he'd already be grabbing your wrist, his grip just a little too tight, air rushing past your skin as he yanked you away.
And the worst part? He made it seem normal.
Sonic played the "best friend" role so well that your partner never quite caught on to what was really happening. And when you finally tried to set boundaries, he just laughed.
"Aw, don't be like that! You know you love hanging out with me."
And the way he said it, it wasn't a question. It was a statement, one he expected you to accept.
Shadow:
If Sonic was the charming nightmare, Shadow was the storm waiting to strike.
Unlike Sonic, Shadow didn't show up constantly, but when he did, he made sure you knew it.
Your first mistake was assuming he didn't care.
Your second mistake was letting him get close enough to notice your relationship.
At first, he didn't say anything. He just watched.
You'd feel it, the weight of his stare, lingering like an unspoken threat. You'd be walking with your partner, and for a moment, something in the air would shift. The hairs on your neck would rise. And then, you'd see him.
Standing just far enough away to not seem suspicious.
But he was watching.
Always watching.
And when he finally approached you? His tone was sharp and cold.
"What are you doing, Y/N?"
"...I'm spending time with my partner?" you'd say cautiously, trying not to let his intense gaze get to you.
He just narrowed his eyes.
"Hmph. Wasting your time, then."
The first time he said that, you thought it was just Shadow being Shadow, dismissing things that didn't interest him. But then he started getting bolder.
"You don’t actually love them," he muttered one day, voice low and sure. "You're just settling."
You had scoffed at the time, brushing him off. But then your partner started having problems.
Shattered belongings. Disruptions at work. "Accidents" that left them too injured to take you out.
You never saw Shadow do anything, but… the timing was too perfect.
And then came the direct approach.
"You're not theirs" he said one evening when he cornered you outside your own home. The streetlights flickered, casting long shadows around you both. "You never were."
"Shadow, stop. I-"
"No, you stop, you're lying to yourself." His voice was low, almost soothing. "You belong with me."

( I generally don't know that much about sonic or zonic . Sorry so I try to make a story. Sorry if I get off topic or don't describe sorry )
Zonic the Zone Cop had always been serious about his duties, donning a special uniform complete with a helmet and gloves in his dull metallic blue that contrasted strongly with the bright worlds he protected. His life simply revolved around maintaining order in the multiverse, but that focus left little room for anything else.
You came into his life on one of those routine missions. An anomaly had popped into the No Zone, causing chaos through the dimensions. Zonic needed help. The first time he approached you, it was strictly tactical-you were different, a puzzle he needed to solve. It wasn't long before you discovered you possessed a special kind of power-one that made you both a target of allies and enemies.
The initial tension that had existed amongst you would eventually melt into something warmer. Zonic's serious demeanor would soften whenever he looked at you, your laughter breaking through his walls, and those moments of shared glances turning into something palpable. On one evening with flickering lights from a dimensional portal as the background, you shared stories about your lives.
You had told him about your dreams, about your fears, and about the void that followed you. Zonic listened with a heart that tugged at every word you said; he was impressed with your strength, your resilience. But he also knew what was at stake: his growing attraction to you went against his mission. You were an anomaly, a threat to the multiverse's stability.
When the No Zone finally decided that he was compromised by your bond with him, Zonic was faced with an important decision: destroy the threat you posed or fight for what he had grown to hold dear. It came down to that one final, desperate moment when you unleashed a power you had been concealing. Still pulsating with energy enough to save or destroy all he'd worked for.
"Zonic," you said, voice trembling, "if I am the menace, then I will go. I would not want to bring disarray upon this place."
He shook his head. "You are more than that. I cannot let you go."
For the first time in his life, Zonic found his duties colliding with the intention of his heart. All his life, he had guarded order up to this day, and this emotion was new. Right and dangerous.
You were pitted against the villains who threatened the multiverse in an epic battle. You both combined your skills in the fight against those very forces that Zonic had sworn to defend. The battle was fierce: Zonic fought like a determined hero, while you manipulated your powers to create pathways through chaos.
Just when victory seemed at hand, the multiverse began to shudder. The choice loomed: sacrifice for the greater good or fight against the system he once served. Zonic came to a conclusion.
"I'll take the risk," he said, catching your hand. "We'll face this together."
You two called upon your powers one last time, in that final burst of energy to rebalance creation, but at a terrible cost. Zonic felt a piece of himself get sucked away as the multiverse finally righted itself.
After that, memories flickered like stars of what you had shared. Alone, Zonic stood amidst a void where you had been, his painful reminder. Yet in his heart, love endured—a more constraining force than duty.
He would press on with the quest, but now, with your essence upon his heart, he crossed the obstacles love had, and vowed to protect the multiverse-for you.
Zonic stood on the cusp of the void, the echoes of your existence lingering in his brain. He had so believed in the clear-cut lines and stark demarcations of duty and responsibility. But here, those demarcations were blurred. A heavy feeling in his chest was there to remind him of what he had fought so hard to protect. You were more than just an anomaly; you had become his anchor to a chaotic multiverse.
He remembered the first time he encountered you. It had been a routine mission, one which had become anything but. You were different from anyone he had ever encountered. Your laughter cut through tension that enveloped his serious world. It was disarming. Zonic had tried compartmentalizing his feelings, focusing solely on the task at hand. Yet, every moment spent with you chipped away at the walls he had built around his heart.
And then, as weeks mounted, Zonic learned about your past. You had faced struggles that would have broken others, but you rose with each scar a testament to resilience. He admired that strength. It was something he had never fully understood until he saw it in you. You were not a puzzle to solve, but a force of nature. Zonic had found solace in your stories during the quiet moments, when the chaos of their missions faded into the distance. You'd shared with him your dreams of a world not ruled by chaos, where you belonged. He wished he could promise you that world.
But over him loomed duty, like a storm cloud. The No Zone had its verdict clear: your existence was a threat, a menace to the multiverse. Zonic knew that weight well on his shoulders. He had always chosen order over emotion. But now, faced with the possibility of losing you, everything began to be questioned. Was he really capable of sacrificing what he found? With the thought, a cold thrill ran down his spine.
But when finally the villains appeared, they were unstoppable. Zonic fought hard; his will was stronger than ever. But it was your power that turned the tide. You were carving paths in the chaos. You had become a partner in the best way. Yet as the battle wore on, the multiverse began to shudder once more. A reminder that their bond was precarious. Zonic felt a creep of fear-loss, failure.
In that climactic moment, as you both were unleashing your combined energies, Zonic made a choice. He grasped your hand, grounding himself in the decision he had made. Consequences would be paid together. The power surged, and he felt everything shift. The multiverse stabilized, but at a price: a part of himself was lost now, etched into the fabric of the universe.
Alone, he stood after the battle, his memories of you flickering like distant stars. They were the reminders of what he had sacrificed. Yet in that emptiness, something else pulsed. Love. It pulsed within him, a defiant glow against the shadows of duty. Zonic vowed to carry your essence forward. He would protect the multiverse, not just for order, but for the love that had transformed him. It was a new purpose, a new fight. The mission would still be there, but now guided by your spirit.
