Dogs feel sad when you leave them alone, but cows aren’t hurt when a dairy farmer takes their child away from them. Cats feel afraid when they hear fireworks, but a pig doesn’t feel terror when they hear the screams of the slaughterhouse. Parrots get lonely, but chickens don’t mind that they’ve never seen the sun or spread their wings.
