I’m not sure if Joan’s answers would’ve been different today; probably, but maybe not since she gave a similar answer in 1979 while participating in a Pride event. Either way, it’s extremely brave of her to not erase Kim and their affair from her life at the time this was published, and to speak about it with such love and care.
