Something I love about Thorfinn is his over-emotionality. How intensely he feels things, to the point that they seep into his subconscious, haunting him with recurrent nightmares and visions. While drawing these I was wondering about the depths of his guilt, specifically in relation to Thors.

Now that Thorfinn is a father, I imagine he understands Thors' fears more profoundly than ever. The fact that he ruined his own life by doing exactly what Thors feared most—his son becoming a killer—must weigh on him heavily. And perhaps, the realization that the immense pride he felt for his father played a part in his foolish pursuit of a meaningless "honourable" revenge that ended up scarring him for life only deepens his guilt. The first image is not a dream but a memory, hence the sepia tone. Kid Thorfinn peeking in on Thors having a quiet moment of fragility.

The best thing I did last year was start Vinland Saga, and it's been a beautiful journey. Thank you to my sister for putting me on board. Can't wait to finish season 2!
