You Got Your Neck Snapped, Huh? You Thought You Could Just Do A Little WHOA WHOA WHOA And Nobody Would

you got your neck snapped, huh? you thought you could just do a little WHOA WHOA WHOA and nobody would even notice. you thought “well, surely just one little Dance of Italy never hurt anybody.” And what happened? You died. You got got. You’re now up in the big Pee Sauna in the sky because you thought you could get away with breaking the law. That’s rough, buddy. But no crime goes unpunished. You know the rules and so do I. And justice…well let’s just say justice is Ethan Nestor with a baseball bat. And you’re the Barrel.

a top down image of a trampoline with "tap on this point very quickly" superimposed on top. Doing so will zoom the image in and out which looks like you're jumping on the trampoline

Fellas, If Your Girl Is In An Airy Frock Wielding A Flaming Sword, Has Far Too Many Eyes, Rings Surrounding

Fellas, if your girl is in an airy frock wielding a flaming sword, has far too many eyes, rings surrounding her while she screams "FEAR NOT",

That's not your girl.

That's a biblically accurate angel.

people aren’t petty or stupid for calling out ableism in the warriors series. yes, it’s a children’s book series. no, that doesn’t mean it’s immune to criticism. if anything, children’s media should be held to a higher standard because kids are impressionable, and if they’re being sent an ableist message, they lack the critical thinking skills to pick that apart and understand why it’s wrong on their own.

nobody is mad that disabled cats are being shown as having it hard. it’s warrior cats, so everybody struggles and suffers. and obviously being disabled isn’t a cakewalk. however, when these characters are consistently shown as being unhappy and downright miserable with who they are and their lot in life, to the point where their lives are devalued as being less fulfilling than abled characters, that’s an issue we really should address.

disabled people can love themselves. disabled people can be satisfied with their lives. but so much of what we are told by the media we consume tells us that they can’t be happy the way they are. they need to be “cured”. their quality of life is inherently “worse” than an abled person. it has less value. but quite plainly, that’s not true! call me an sjw but i think disabled children deserve to read books where characters like them don’t hate themselves

aah i love your art, and liro's an absolute darling! i hope it's not too much trouble that i ask but how did you get so good at visualizing canine anatomy? i always have trouble making anatomy look convincing, they seem to always look one dimensional and flat. thank you and have a nice day!

Aaa thank you so much (and I know, right? I would be completely lost without Iiro). <3

Well, I was lucky enough to grow up with dogs all around me (my first neighbourhood was inhabited by many German Shepherd Dog enthusiasts, including my parents), so I’ve spent a huge portion of my life observing their body structure and movements. I may not know all of the dog anatomy tips and tricks whatsoever but I’ve developed a strong sense of knowing what ~*~looks~*~ right and what does not. On top of that I’ve had a ton of repetitive practice.

I bet anybody can get better at doggo anatomy though. Genuine interest in learning all about your drawing subject goes far. Most of those Really Damn Good Artists that I know of use references and do regular life drawing sessions, so those two things are another key to effective learning (it should also help your brain to understand perspective and forms better! You mentioned that your dogs look “flat”, I’m by no means a professional and haven’t seen your drawings so I don’t know for sure but that to me sounds like you could benefit from practicing forms and perspective?).

You didn’t ask for this asdfg but here’s a handful of woof tutorials etc. that have helped me in the past, maybe you/somebody else reading this will find them useful:

I see people trying to justify the officer’s actions relating to George Floyd’s murder following the recent bodycam footage. Firstly, resisting arrest is not grounds for murder. There have been many white criminals who have resisted arrest and were dealt with peacefully.

Secondly, George Floyd clearly had trauma from previous police interactions, saying that he got shot once by them. He says this in the face of a gun being directed at him in the beginning of the footage when he had not yet resisted. The gun was not put away. Later he says that he fears being shot and getting COVID (presumably in prison), neither of these fears were assuaged. Instead the police are forceful and verbally aggressive with him (swearing at him multiple times).

Thirdly, he was clearly panicking and the cops did nothing to deescalate. This is why people are saying defund the police because a mental health professional would have done much more good. Or at least train police to deal with people with mental illness or those who panic during arrests. 6 months of training is not enough.

Fourthly, Floyd said that he needed 3 seconds to catch his breath before going into the vehicle. He was not granted those 3 seconds.

Finally, he was restrained. I see people saying that the drugs in his system were a factor in him being unable to breath. Even if that was the case. ANYONE who’s neck is being KNELT ON for 8 MINUTES is going to die. 8 minutes of lack of oxygen is enough to strangle a perfectly healthy man.

Even if he was violent, which he was not, he did not deserve to die. He did not deserve to die for having drugs in his system, he did not deserve to die for using counterfeit bills, he did not deserve to die for panicking and resisting arrest. George Floyd should still be alive, the officers involved in his murder should be convicted and the police should be held accountable and defunded in favour of investing in poorer neighbourhoods, education, drug treatment programs and mental health services.

Sometimes I feel like I'm Nick Carraway, trying to fit into a story that's not mine, neither about me nor mine to tell. I'm an omniscient observer watching the protagonists live their lives, undisturbed by my inconsequential presence.
