In Roman mythology, the god Jupiter drew a veil of clouds around himself to hide his mischief. It was only Jupiterās wife, the goddess Juno, who could peer through the clouds and reveal Jupiterās true nature. ⣠⣠Our @NASAJuno spacecraft is looking beneath the clouds of the massive gas giant, not seeking signs of misbehavior, but helping us to understand the planetās structure and historyā¦ā£ ⣠Now, @NASAJuno just published its first findings on the amount of water in the gas giantās atmosphere. The Juno results estimate that at the equator, water makes up about 0.25% of the molecules in Jupiterās atmosphere ā almost three times that of the Sun. An accurate total estimate of this water is critical to solving the mystery of how our solar system formed.Ā
The JunoCam imager aboard Juno captured this image of Jupiterās southern equatorial region on Sept. 1, 2017. The bottom image is oriented so Jupiterās poles (not visible) run left-to-right of frame.

āIāve got good news and bad news. The good news is, you donāt have to worry, you canāt change the past. The bad news is, you donāt have to worry, no matter how hard you try, you canāt change the past. The universe just doesnāt put up with that. We arenāt important enough. No one is. Even in our own lives. Weāre not strong enough, willful enough, skilled enough in chronodiegetic manipulation to be able to just accidentally change the entire course of anything, even ourselves.ā - Charles Yu, How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe
