crossover Spider-Man: Homecoming / The Greatest Showman
He didn’t intend to say it.
He’d been toying with it the last couple of weeks, rolling it around silently in his mouth, just trying it out.
(He’d whispered it out loud, just once, in the mirror.)
(Maybe twice.)
It was too soon to say it. Mary had only been dead for six months. He and Rosie were only sleeping at Baker Street once or twice a week. He was maybe two months into what would probably be a lifetime of therapy to cope with his anger issues and his betrayal issues and his trust issues and his sexuality issues and fuck, he had a long way to go.
It was too late to say it. He’d let so many chances go by. Even now, after everything–after Moriarty and the Fall; after Mary and Magnussen and the tarmac; after Smith and the morgue and Eurus and the hug–he still didn’t know what to do. Because despite “it’s always you, John Watson” and “the man you have saved” and “that’s why he stays”, John was afraid. He was afraid that he wasn’t the man Sherlock saw. He was afraid he never had been, and even more afraid that he never would be.
So he wasn’t going to say it. Not yet. Not till things were a little more…settled. He’d told Ella as much not thirty minutes before, and had felt certain about the decision the whole way home in the cab.
A low rumble of laughter drifted down the stairs as he closed the front door behind him, followed by his daughter’s shrill shriek of joy. He took the stairs slowly, wrapped up in the sound of their voices, so comfortable together. So…right. (Not yet. Not yet. Soon.) He opened the door to the flat and froze, his field of vision narrowing to the two people standing in front of the fireplace.
Sherlock was wearing slim black trousers (finally filling them out again after months of John and Mrs. Hudson trying to feed him up) and the deep sapphire shirt that had narrowly edged out John’s old purple favorite to currently hold the number one spot on the mental list of favorite Sherlock clothes he would never admit to having. He had Rosie propped on one hip before the mirror and his other hand held her favorite stuffed bee, which he was currently flying about both of their heads while making a buzzing sound low in his throat. Every once in awhile the bee would “land” on Rosie’s flower-printed pajamas. Rosie would fling her arms out in an ineffectual attempt to catch the bee, the bee would “fly away,” and the laughter would follow.
They were the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.
John watched a few more rounds of this, his heart expanding every time, before Rosie spotted him in the mirror. “Da!” She burst out, flailing one arm in his direction. Sherlock looked up, surprised, and their eyes met in the mirror.
“Not often I catch you by surprise,” John managed as they turned to face him. Sherlock’s cheeks flushed, and he waggled the bee.
“Bees, John. Very…diverting.”
“Bee!” Rosie yelled, and Sherlock handed it to her. She held the bee in both arms and dropped her head on Sherlock’s shoulder.
“Very good enunciation, Watson,” Sherlock said, and his now empty hand automatically came up to slide gently over the back of her head. “You’re becoming an excellent apiculturist.”
“I love you.”
John felt his own mouth drop open as he saw Sherlock’s do the same. He watched Sherlock look to Rosie, and then back to John, as if tracking the path of his gaze. John felt an unexpected calm begin to settle over him now that the words were out, so he stepped a little closer and tried it again.
“I love you, Sherlock.” He took a deep breath. “I have loved you so long I hardly remember a time when I didn’t, and I have been waiting to tell you. For years!” His voice broke on the last word, and he cleared his throat. He would get this out. “And now I have been waiting, again, trying to figure out if I can be the person you want me to be. The person you seem to think I am. But…I am, already, aren’t I? You’ve always seen exactly who I was, and loved me anyway.” He felt a grin begin to spread across his face. “Sherlock. You love me.”
Sherlock, who had been silent and staring through his entire speech, nodded. His beautiful eyes were bright and his hands held John’s daughter with unwavering strength and care, and when he spoke, his voice was quiet, and deep, and sure. “Yes, John. I love you.”
It wasn’t too soon.
It wasn’t too late.
It was what it was, and what it was was good.
And now.
And always.

Ned finally got his so wanted date with Betty, but he’s a dork and freaked out while asking her out, resulting to you and Peter pretending to be couple and going on a double date because you are the best friends ever and wouldn’t want to let Ned down.
Okay so this is my first time trying something like this and to be honest I’m quite nervous about it because I have no idea what I’m doing lmao. Oh and also my first language is not English, so bear with me if you see any mistakes, but don’t forget to give me a heads up and tell me what were your thoughts on it! :) P.S: I’ll start with first meetings and stuff to explain how it all lead to what this is really about.
You, Peter and Ned were best friends. It all started in your first day in Midtown High, you were really nervous because it was mid-semester and your first class was Chemistry, so the teacher paired you up with “the best one in the class”, Peter. He started freaking out when you took off your jacket, revealing a t-shirt that had C3PO, R2-D2 and the phrase “These are not the droids you are looking for…” on it. “Oh my god, you like Star Wars!!” his eyes got so bright and shit he’s adorable. “Yeah, man! I’m (y/n), and you are…?” you were smiling because you already knew this guy was a good one and was going to be your friend. “I’m Parker… Peter. Uh, Peter Parker!” After that it was settled, Peter asked you to sit with him during lunch, and that’s where you met Ned, who had the exact same reaction when he saw your shirt, by the way. You guys clicked instantly, you discovered that they shared all of your nerdy and geeky passions and they were just happy to meet someone so “cool”. It only took a week or something for you to be over Peter’s for movie-nights, sleepovers and all of it. Meeting May for the first time was awesome and embarrassing at the same time because Ned made sure to imply that you were Peter’s girlfriend and Peter blushed until he looked like a tomato, but besides that everything went smoothly. You found out the truth about Peter’s “intership” really quick. It wasn’t like Peter was exactly making an effort to hide it, since the Spider-Boy (as you liked to call) was always watching you get home safe when Peter and Ned couldn’t walk with you. So one day when you were at Peter’s (Ned was sick), you just drew a tiny spider in his hand and winked at him. “Thanks for always watching me, stalker.” He blushed so hard but you got him to calm down after promising you wouldn’t tell anyone. (…) You and Peter were already at the table you always sit on during lunch, currently in a tense discussion about what was going to be the plot of the newest Star Wars movie: The Last Jedi, when Ned came to you running faster than you’ve ever thought was possible. “Gu-guys! Guys! You will NOT believe what just happened” he was breathing heavily but didn’t sit down, he just put his hands on the table as hard as he could to get you and Peter’s attention. “Jesus! What’s going on Ned?” you and Peter said, very pissed after almost falling down. “I asked Betty out! We’re going on a date!” when he said that you felt all the anger go away, you were just so happy that your best friend got a date with his crush. “Dude! That’s awesome!” “When are you guys going out?” Peter and you started rambling at the same time, not being able to hide the big smile in both of your faces. “Uh… about that… funny story, actually. But I actually meant it when I said that we are going on a date…” at this point you already knew Ned had messed something up. “Ned… what did you do?” Peter started looking worried, he also picked on that something was strange too. “I-I kinda said that you and (y/n) are a couple and now we have a double date…” Ned’s face was a mix of happiness and worriedness. “What the hell, Ned?” “Dude! Why’d you do that?” you started talking at the same time and you realized Peter was a little too nervous for your taste. “I panicked, guys! Will you please do this for me? You know how much I’ve wanted this” he started to make puppy eyes and ugh you couldn’t let him down, could you? “Sure, Ned. We’ll do it. If that’s okay for you?” you asked Peter after giving Ned a warm smile. Peter was just a mess, he looked like he was close to having a meltdown. “Um… Ye-yeah. I guess we should… you know… do it for… for Ned!” “Um, good.” “Great.” “Sure.” “Yep.” The day of the date had come. You guys settled for going at a movie theater. You weren’t nervous anymore because despite the fact that you’d be kind of lying, you’d be helping your friend and that’s what mattered. Besides, it couldn’t be that hard, right? When you finally got to the movie theater, you saw Ned and Betty buying popcorn, Peter was right beside them constantly fixing his hair. He was the first one to see you. You started walking confidently in his direction and gave him a kiss on his cheek before he could say anything. “Hey, babe! Sorry I’m late. You look so handsome, by the way” you smiled and winked at him. Then you got close to his ear and whispered: “Go along. We need to help Ned, okay?”. “Thanks… um… babe.” He said after you got back, trying to look as natural as possible. You greeted Ned and Betty and stood by Peter to buy your snacks. After everything was purchased, you took Peter’s hand, intertwining your fingers. He looked at you differently, some way you’ve never seen before. “Let’s go. The movie’s about to start.” He said and guided you, followed by Ned and Betty. You four got two couple-seat’s, Peter couldn’t seem to focus on the movie, always checking to see if Ned was okay. You checked sometimes too, and when you did, you always saw them whispering to each other and laughing. Peter put his arm around you, pulling you closer, and took your hand. You looked at him with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. “This, this is something couples do. I just… thought we should do it too. But it’s okay if you don’t want to do it, I-” “Hey, spidey, it’s okay. Chill.” You laughed and he relaxed a little bit. After that the movie went quite smoothly, Peter would squeeze your hand often, and you guys whispered and laughed making fun of the movie during most of it, because it was honestly so bad. When it ended you left the room and walked to the sidewalk, talking. “Do you guys want to get some food?” Betty suggested and Ned immediately agreed. “Actually… Peter and I were planning to go to my place and cudlle while binge watching Stranger Things, right babe?” you looked over at Peter and he knew what your plan was right away. “Yeah. But you guys can go! Eat for the four of us!” he smirked. Ned and him shared some meaningful looks before Ned walked Betty to a diner across the street. You and Peter were left alone so you guys decided to actually go to your place and binge watch Stranger Things, just letting the cuddling part out. The walk was silent. Your arms kept bumping and Peter looked lost in his thoughts, like he was trying to solve the most difficult puzzle in the world. You arrived at your house and went straight to your bedroom after seeing no one was there. You turned the TV on and basically dived into your bed, but Peter was just by the door after it closed, staring at you with that look again. “What are you staring at, Spider-Boy?” you asked jokingly. “It’s just that… Ugh… Nevermind.” He looked tense so you stood up and went over to him. “Hey, what’s wrong? You can tell me!” you were starting to get worried. “It’s nothing, really.” He sighed, but you knew him too well. “Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong, Peter?” “I can’t. Really.” That hurt. Like, a lot. “Oh, great. We are back at it again with the hiding things from me bullshit.” “(y/n), it’s not like that…” “Oh, but it is, Peter. Remember when you told me you were Spider-Man? Me neither, because I had to figure it out. Do you seriously think I’m that stupid? That I don’t know that you and Ned are always talking about something and stop right when I get too close?” your eyes were starting to get wet. “No! I would never think that!” he started to get so sad and it made you feel terrible. “I’m sorry. You know how insecure I am, sometimes I just don’t feel like I deserve to be yours and Ned’s best friend because I feel like trash. That’s it.” You looked down at your feet to hide the tears falling down, you never said it out loud and doing so just made it feel too real. “What??? (y/n), don’t say that! You are amazing and…” “Don’t say that. You’re just trying to make me feel better. God, I’m such an idiot.” “No. You listen to me now.” He grabbed your hands, making you look at him while he stepped closer. You didn’t think that look could ever get more intense, but there it was, right in his eyes, sinking in all your face at once. He wiped away your tears, sighed heavily and started talking again. “You are amazing. You really are. I remember when we first talked and it was amazing as well. Don’t you ever feel like trash, because you are the exact opposite. You are so kind, and funny, super super funny, I can’t remember a day I spent with you without laughing. You are so smart, I know you don’t think so but you are the smartest person I’ve ever met. You have such a good taste in movies it’s crazy, and oh my god, you are beautiful, sometimes I catch myself staring at you because I can’t believe how pretty you are, it’s unbelievable. You always know how to make me smile, you always take care of me when I’m hurt and climb your window after a fight with some bad guy, even if you don’t have to. You are honestly the best person I’ve ever met and that’s why it was so easy for me to fall in love with you…” “What?” you looked him right in his hazel eyes, it was like you were seeing his soul. “You… you are in love with me?” He had determination and courage stamped on his face. “You know what? Yeah. I am in love with you. I’ve been for so long, so so long. That’s what I was thinking earlier, that I’m so madly in love with you. It’s like those clichés, but it’s real.” He squeezed your hand. “That’s mostly the main reason I agreed to this thing today, I saw a chance and I took it. And I know you were pretending to be in love with me and all but that doesn’t change the fact that I wasn’t. I couldn’t keep this inside anymore, I felt like I was going to explode and…” “Peter.” You said and intensified the look you had in your eyes, trying to say everything you wanted with a look. “Y-Yeah?” he looked nervous again, getting prepared for being dumped. “I wasn’t.” “What?” his puppy eyes looked at you with nervousness. “I wasn’t pretending” that’s all you said after you made your way to his lips, finally colliding after so long you’ve wanted them to. The kiss could’ve took seconds, minutes, hours. You honestly didn’t know. All you knew was that Peter was there, and he was kissing you, and it felt perfect. You finally parted the kiss, your eyes still closed and your foreheads resting on each other. When you opened your eyes, you saw Peter with that look again in his eyes and a big smile on his face, and you finally knew what that look meant. You started smiling too, just sinking in the feeling that your first kiss was with your best friend, the boy you were deeply in love with for a long time, too long. “So, does this mean you are my girlfriend now?” he asked, still smiling. “Well, only if you want me to.” You said jokingly. “I do, I really do.” He looked so so happy, and you were no different. He looked at you again and kissed you, just because he could. And the feeling was even better. After that, you guys binge watched Stranger Things and cuddled, until you two fell asleep in each others arms. You felt like this was the best night of your life. And many more nights, kisses, and cuddling sessions (eventually more than just cuddling) like that were to happen.

Old married couple
You never said you didn’t have feelings for her ;)
Why don’t you go pick on her or something? @sarcasticmichelle Go on, bug her. She loves these types of questions.
All I need is just one conversation like this
i just don’t understand why rey felt any inclination to want to save kylo ren at all, like, she hates him at the end of tfa, he tortured her, tried to kill her and finn, like...there’s no reason for her to feel any sympathy towards him. why is it that rey is the one who wants to save him and Luke is the one saying there’s no hope? this is Luke skywalker we’re taking about, the “i will bring my dad back from the dark side even if it kills me” guy...if they were going to have rey want to bring kylo back, at least give her a goddamn reason, like, i don’t know, hes a part of her family???
