In the first sw movie, they first meet in a forest where Rey ran to hide from lotsa shit it’s complicated anyways. He finds her, tries to kill her, then he freezes her (she can’t move but she’s still conscious) and tries to rip information from her mind, which is clearly a very painful process.

After that, he sedates her, takes her to his ship, and literally mind-rapes her. Again he tries to get information, says things like “you know I can take what I want”, etc (the scene was compared to rape/abuse by ppl who were involved in the making, too. It’s not just fanon).

Long story short Rey escapes blah blah and the next time they meet is when Kylo’s father, Han Solo (who has become a father figure to Rey, “he’s like the father you never had”) tries to get Kylo to stop being a murderous nazi. Kylo says “hm. Interesting” and stabs his father in the gut (right in front of Rey), then tosses him in a deep pit (star wars just loves these deep pits, someone falls into one like twice a movie).

Rey and her new pal Finn escape the building. The planet they’re on is about to blow up. What does Kylo do? Does he let them go because there’s literally no point in chasing after 2 randos on a dying planet? Nope! He runs after them, throws Rey 4 meters up in the air and into a tree, which puts her out for some time. While she’s out, Kylo proceeds to put Finn into a coma by almost slicing his spine in two.

Rey wakes up, they fight again. Kylo tells her she needs a teacher. Rey says “aha” and slices Kylo’s face in half, then escapes the planet before it explodes.

From these 2 scenes they have together, people (mostly adult women (m o s t l y)) started saying how Rey is going to redeem him, Rey is the key to everything, they need Rey to have his kid so that there’ll be a new Skywalker baby etc, completely ignoring how much the 19 year old Rey loathes this greasy 30 year old incel who went to the dark side because “his parents weren’t paying enough attention to him :( ”, also completely ignoring how Kylo Ren tortured Rey, hates her (“He hates her. This garbage picker.”) and emotionally manipulates her (“you’re noone. But not to me”).

They reduce Rey to her womb (the “ reylo needs to be canon bc Skywalker baby 😍😍 ” folk), reduce her to a plot device, someone who only exists to redeem this unredeemable manchild.
