i got curious about the "usakumya upgrade"—an old video demonstration by a btssb employee that recently resurfaced, and decided to try it out on one that i'll be using in an upcoming coord. i wanted to share the before and after photos of my strawberry cake usakumya pochette because i'm so pleased with the results!!

i updated and rearranged my lolita physical media collection as i was recently able to complete two sets: my english "gothic & lolita bibles" at the top (still a long way to go for the japanese volumes you see sandwiched in between) and my "gothic lolita & punk brand books" at the bottom! for brand catalogs that are a bit too flimsy without a solid spine, loose pages, flyers, prints, postcards and such; i added in a file folder to give them a little extra protection.
it looks a little strange stacked vertically, but this temporary setup until i move was the solution i found after some trial and error. the classic horizontal "bookcase" presentation of the magazines was far too much weight and pressure for my unstable shelves and caused an extremely loud and heavy avalanche. thankfully i survived with just a bruise, but more importantly.. none of my books were too hurt! reorganizing them all over again from the beginning after the fact was a bit tedious, though.
i'm especially looking forward to reading the three acquisitions pictured above given that finding english lolita media has proven quite difficult.
I am a Lolita. I do not believe in growing up. No matter how old I get, I shall remain devoted to ruffles and frills.
lolibrary moment of all time: when the item finishes serving a decade long sentence in wishlist prison and is finally released to the closet And also the immediate 2x bonus buff you receive if it's one of those high digit stargazer items and you are the first owner to log it
its been so long since I drew anything related to lolita fashion, but I was really inspired when I was invited to join a lolita zine, Sous L'Ombrella ! Its out (in french right now, though an English version may be available in the future). I hope you can enjoy it~ There is a lot of beautiful art so you don't really need to be able to read French to enjoy that ! https://issuu.com/snow_priestess/docs/summerzine_fr_final_solopages

The production studio at "Baby, the Stars Shine Bright" featured in an episode of Tokyo Fashion Express. Their designs typically require up to 50 sewing patterns, which is about 5 times as many as the average dress. Detailed notes on measurements and specifications are written for the sewing factory.
The sewing factory is in Ibaraki prefecture. For more than 20 years they've been sewing clothes exclusively for BTSSB. 17 people work there, most of them being veterans age 60 or over. Due to the complexity they work in teams for ironing, sewing lace and ribbons, as well as completing gathers and frills.
The manager of the factory, Sumiko Watahiki, says in an interview: "There's tons of gather, lace, and layering, which requires a lot of sewing. At first, I doubted I could do it! It was that hard. (But) I'm always impressed with the adorable designs when I see the finished products or while I work."
Currently coording Symphony Heart One Piece by Angelic Pretty. This was the only release of 2023 by AP that really pulled my heart and reminded me of "old" AP. I fell in love with the heart design with lace trim. The fabric is 100% cotton and very soft. The bow placements didn't seem overwhelming to me and the shirred back is sooo comfortable to wear. The shoulder part is also shirred. Its an overall quality dress. angelic pretty really ate with this one ᰔ
