A Secret Not So Well Kept.

(Aldo Raine x Female!Reader)

For the lovely @strudelcreme really hope you enjoy ❤️💛

A Secret Not So Well Kept.
A Secret Not So Well Kept.

As much as it was beautiful...love was a dangerous thing.

It could make you feel alive, and rip your heart out the next.

Aldo and (Y/n) knew this. But when the strongest of resolves break. Their relationship began slowly, nothing more than ghostly touches and meaning filled smiles at first. The roots of their attraction grew and grew throughout their service together, until the pair couldn't conceal their feelings anymore.

If you had to ask (Y/n), the night Aldo confessed was the happiest she had ever been. Even though they adored each other, they knew that the knowledge of their relationship would only bring heartbreak.

So they decided to keep it a secret. Not only for their love, but also for the professional side of their positions. (Y/n) knew the whispers that danced on the wind for women "like her". Words so vile, you would feel yourself irk from even listening to them. Sometimes, (Y/n) wondered how she kept her composure in a pit full of snakes. Snakes that bore human faces and spoke human words. Things would be easier this way, (Y/n) had told herself many times. It would spare them both from an unnecessary hell.

The night was young, the moon having just risen above the trees, settled in the dark canvas of night. (Y/n) kept her head high, (e/c) never leaving the twinkling stars. The soft breeze that ruffled her (short/long/medium) hair didn't go unnoticed by Aldo, who was sneaking small glances here and there. Though the pair agreed to keep their love a secret, Aldo couldn't help the way his heart yearned for her. He couldn't ignore the dreams of a possible future together, and the many beauties that life would bring. Aldo was glad he had something more to fight for than country.

The Basterds whooped and hollered as the town came into view, all dressed in civilian clothing. Remarkably, this was one of the few towns left with no Krauts in them. At least not yet. The streets were quiet, and the Basterds entered a small looking tavern. At the head of the bar, (Y/n) was greeted by a welcoming face. "Archie!" She expressed in glee, making the Brit coal his head at her. " Pleasure to see you Basterds alive and well." He greeted, shooting a smile at (Y/n).

Some might misinterpret this as flirting, but (Y/n) knew that the man meant nothing but friendship with her.

He had spoken to her before, of his life back home, and how Archie wishes to return to his wife once the war is over. Besides Aldo and the others, Archie was a man that knew (Y/n)'s worth, both to the army and the group. "Don't just stand there, Hiecox! Get us some drinks!" Donny yelled, body going over the counter. The act made (Y/n) laugh, shaking her head. "Get the man some gin, Archie! Before he tears the whole place down." (Y/n) ordered, before proceeding to order for everyone else. She had to stop herself from saying Aldo's drink of choice to quickly, for a man like Archie was very perceptive. As Archie was busy getting the drinks, (Y/n) let her eyes wander.

Wander right into beautiful blue.

She could never get sick of those eyes. They didn't need to speak to know they were communicating an ocean of longing, bodies inching just to hug and kiss each other. Aldo sent a small grin, and (Y/n) felt her own face twist upwards. The sound of glass clanks pulled (Y/n) away from her staring, but before she could grab the glasses, strong hands beat her to it. She could recognize him by touch alone. "I'll get that for ya', darlin." Aldo drawled, chuckling when (Y/n) hid her face. It was a little game they played, to confuse everyone else. The nicknames were a part of it, and everyone thought that they were just being friendly.

It didn't take long for the drinks to take their effect. Donny was already slurring his words, and Hirschberg was already trying to fight Hugo. Then, the conversation simply switched onto Aldo. "Ya know Lieutenant….I think your accent is pretty funny…" Donny slurred, a clumsy hand now on the Lieutenant's shoulder. Aldo simply chuckled, paying the drunk Bostonian no mind. Their voices began to pick up, making more jokes at Aldo's expense. But (Y/n) was not having it. She knew that they were having a little fun, but their words were getting out of hand.

It wasn't until Hirschberg began to tease Aldo about his love life that she stepped in. "Alright that's enough." She said, but Hirschberg didn't relent. "Like, how the hell ain't you married yet? I'm sure you got a-." Hirschberg breathed, before he got pushed off. “He doesn't need no wife!” (Y/n) exclaimed. Everyone's eyes fell wide, for the docile woman never had raised her voice before. It just wasn't in her nature. Hirscheberg took this as a sign. Apparently he was a lot smarter when he was drunk. His reddened face came over with a grin, and he pointed his lanky finger at them. “You and the Lieutenant have a thing going on don't ya?” Hirschberg surmised, letting out a belly deep laugh when (Y/n)’s face went red. Donny rose from his own seat, before clapping his hand on Hirschberg's back.

“I knew it!” He yelled, pointing a finger as well. Aldo stepped beside his lover, eyeing her as if to confirm his own actions. Before the young woman could react, Aldo placed his rough hands on her face, his eyes carrying a youthful determination that one only possessed in the heat of a glorious battle. His lips were a familiar feeling, one that (Y/n) had yearned to feel for such a long time. Her skin tingled, and blood seemed to rush her face.

Aldo knew there was no going back after this.

And he didn't care.

The other Basterds whooped and hollered, and Wicki seemed to be giving Archie some cash. The duo pulled away, and (Y/N) hid her face in her hands. Her man had been bold, and now she didn't know what to do. ‘’Pay up, Donowitz!” Hirschberg yelled, and Donny audibly groaned. Aldo placed his shoulder around (Y/n) and pulled her close. ‘’Welp darlin’, looks like they found out our little secret.” He chuckled. (Y/n) smiled, though the claws of worry would pry off her skin just yet. “What if-?”

“I dont give a shit what the OSS or any of those fucks have to say. I’m gonna make you my wife when we get back home and aint one one gonna stop me.” Aldo exclaimed and (Y/n) felt like she would cry. It was a strong promise, and they both knew that, but life was nothing if it wasn't a challenge. “Get a room you two!” Donny joked, a big smile on his face. “You two make a cute couple.” (Y/n) heard from behind her.

Archie gave her a thumbs up, and in a strange moment of peace, (Y/n) felt like she could actually do this. She looked up at Aldo, admiring his eyes, and she softly pecked his lips.

Now all they needed to do, was get out of France.

The Price of Fun.

(Gerold Hirschberg x Female! Reader)

For the lovely @strudelcreme, really hope you enjoy ❤️💛

The Price Of Fun.
The Price Of Fun.

"You two gotta be careful out there. Don't know when or where those Krauts might be hanging about." Aldo warned for the upteenth time. (Y/n) had to suppress a eye roll while Gerold only nodded. The mission wasn't even that big of a deal, it was only Aldo wanting to make sure that Paris had... viable escape routes. He couldn't have out one of his best on a more boring mission. "Do not engage if you see anything, do I make myself clear?" Aldo quizzed.

"Yes sir!"

"(L/N)?"

"Yes sir." She responded, less enthusiastically than her man. Once everything had been briefed once more, (Y/n) and Gerold were left near the outskirts of the city. " Alright, I'm not going to do this." Gerold said, catching his girl by surprise. "What do you mean?" She asked. (Y/n) knew that her boyfriend had a knack for causing trouble, especially back home. She didn't take him serious when he said he was joining the army. "I heard there's a movie playing at the cinema. You wanna go watch it?" He asked.

"You can't be serious."

"Come on, I haven't taken you on a date since we got here." Gerold reasoned. (Y/n) laughed softly, feeling a blush creep up on her. The idea of a cinema did sound appealing, it definitely beat having to do this boring mission. "Fine, let's go. How do we get the tickets?" (Y/n) asked, although she knew that Georld had some scheme already planned. " Who said anything about tickets?" Gerold smiled. The two made their way toward the cinema, (Y/n) making an effort to conseal them from any Police. They snuck into the cinema, taking the seats the top of the room. The movie they were watching was "Gilda", Georld's favorite movie. Hell, when (Y/n) and he first met, Gerold said she looked like Rita Hayworth.

"Haven't you seen this movie like a thousand times?" (Y/n) asked with a grin. Gerold smiled back. "I know the entire thing by heart now. " He said proudly. The movie got to the bit that could literally make any man swoon. That gorgeous hair flip, combined with that beautiful voice, it even made (Y/n) blush. Once the movie was over, the two decided that it was time to head back. They exited the same way they came in, and it was then that they noticed that it has gotten dark. They shared a look. A look that conveyed exactly what the two parties were feeling. "We are so screwed." (Y/n) said.

The walk back was filled with awkward laughs and Gerold trying to sneak a kiss here and there. "You know, when we get back home, I'm gonna marry." He said. "You serious?" (Y/n) asked, quite surprised by his confession. She had wanted to be married and it mad her extrinsically happy to know that he wanted to as well. The camp was quiet. "Phew, we are good to-"

"I wouldn't say so, Hirschberg." Said Aldo, emerging from behind them. (Y/n) yelped, jumping slightly and Gerold swore. " Now...why don't you two tell us where the fuck you've been?" Aldo asked, his voice dangerously low. They have never seen him this mad. Turns out, the others were awake as well. They all looked just as angry. "We umm...we umm...we were at a movie." (Y/n) sighed with honesty. It took a moment for Aldo to process what she said and Gerold looked like he was going to shit himself. "So your telling me that you blew off an important mission to watch a fucking me? Well fuck me, we should all do the same thing. It ain't as if we are in the middle of fucking war!" Aldo swore. If you have ever heard a man from the middle of goddamn Tennessee swear, you know you were in trouble.

"Sir, we were only trying to-"

"I don't wanna hear it, Hirschberg. You two dumbasses might have gotten killed. Did you have any consideration for any of us?" Aldo asked, as if he was expecting an answer. The duo stayed quiet and Aldo scoffed. "You're lucky I sent Wicki and Stiglitz to do your job for you." He sighed. "You two ever pull this shit again, you'll be running to the Krauts to save your asses." Aldo seethed and a cacophony of agreements followed suit. The situation died down after, and the others returned to sleep. (Y/n) were left to think about their actions. "It was a good movie though." Gerold said. (Y/n) chuckled. "Be quiet, shortie." She responded. A pout made its way to his face.

A hand came down on both their shoulders, and they were pulled into an almost bear-like hug. "Aldo, you're crushing me, man!" (Y/n) stated, dropping all formality when it was just them. "Shut up." Aldo responded simply and (Y/n) laughed. " You two ever pull something like that again, I swear to God I will kill you both."  Aldo stated, his tone holding promise. Both (Y/n) and Gerold returned the gesture, them staying in the hug for a good minute. Once Aldo finally pulled away, he smiled. "I promised I'd get you kids back home. So do me a favor and don't make it harder for me." He chuckled.

"We won't...for now."

"(L/n)."

"I'm kidding."

Aldo laughed, before bidding them a goodnight. Gerold and her laid down, when he turned to face her. "You weren't really kidding, were you?"

"Nope."
