It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Sorry for the prolonged absence. Technical problems and lack of motivation do that. I’m trying to warm myself back up to drawing all the time, so here is a Sterling.

I like posting comparisons. I’d say there’s a fair improvement here.

Look what I decided to work on!

The young Eminent Minh and the captain of his personal guard.

It isn’t polished but I thought this one had a nice feel to it. It also reminds me of a drawing I need to finish...

I gathered some sketches from the past months and finally scanned them. (It’s the only thing my printer is good for now, but let’s not get into that here.) 

Top batch is Even Keel, bottom is Star & Lionhearts / Fantasy Kai’J.

I’m redoing the interactive height chart for Even Keel. :) Everyone looks so much better than they did two years ago. This is just a small sample of what is to come!

I was supposed to be working on other things but I fixed this up a bit instead. 

Oscar’s badassery never fails to astound me.

I animated this at the beginning of the year. A character concept for the Deer-gods story. His name is Caligo. I loved the shapes of his face so much I had to make him move.

At least this Raichu’s better than the last one I drew. Look at that little snarl.

It looks like somebody’s got quagga on the brain.

I wouldn't call this new art. I only painted over something from 2011. Zukel always finds his way back to the shadows, for better or worse.

The Dancing Deer-men make their triumphant return. These guys hardly ever have two feet on the ground. Here they are seen dancing with a spirit to hasten the springtime.

Here is my last post of the year, something a little different.

There is an abandoned temple in the forest that is fabled to house all of the knowledge of the gods. Those not kept away by reverence risk a run-in with the red demon who guards it.

Portraits from Space.

In other words, I probably won't finish the whole piece for another year.

I wanted to get these up even if they aren't quite as polished as I'd like. (It's been a long time coming.)

From left to right we have Tahata, Adrian, and Rinth, all characters from a fantasy-oriented story that needs a better name. They're demons, links between the mortal world and the formless gods who call themselves the Silet.

In other words, before and after. I found this drawing from February and I really wanted to share it... then I looked at the sketch underneath it...

Although this picture has nothing to do with today, Happy Thanksgiving anyway!

I think I say this every time. I love Oscar.

Here is some art that was supposed to be for my NaNo this year, but seeing as I've ditched sci-fi for good old fantasy, the outfits aren't quite applicable.

I hope to come back to the sci-fi story at some point. I think it has potential and is more in line with what I always envision Kai'Juricho to be.

That fantasy AU, though. No stopping it once it gets started.

I'm concepting for November. Finding the place and atmosphere for the characters.

I actually had this drawn a month ago intending to add more characters but you can see how well that went.

Forgive my absence, we're still getting internet set up at our new place. (It's already taken far too long but I won't get into that here.)

This was quite literally a year in the making. Enjoy a mash-up of Kai'J and Even Keel.

And of course it looks like Zukel is talking to himself, but that wouldn't be too far off the mark.

Diu is an old character that I recently revamped for another shot at the ongoing catastrophe that is Kai'J.
