When I saw this, youtooz shadow(?) alastor figure
I just thought of this:
Is it just me, or is it weird, vaggie has long hair?
Vaggie long hair being down all the time is a bit strange? I mean, she is the protector of the hotel. Shouldn't she have her hair up or at least have a hairdo where her hair can be out of her face?
Like, don't get me wrong, I have long hair, but I always keep it up because, first, my hair gets in my face, and It really annoying trying to take your hair out of your face every 5 minutes.
Second, the number one rule in fighting is to never leave your hair down. Why? Because the person you are fighting can grab your hair and pull. The same goes for jewelry.
____
In episode 7, vaggie confessed that she didn't know how to fight with long hair.
I totally understand why vaggie has trouble fighting with long hair. Since she used to short hair, but vaggie character (at least for me) is shown to always be on edge, shown to think the worst, and only really trust charlie.
So it is a bit weird because why vaggie hasn't been practicing fighting with her long hair?
I mean, again, she is the protector of the hotel, and it hell, anything can happen!
Also, another question: How long has vaggie had long hair? I mean, once her hair grew out, she didn't think to practice adjusting to her new hairstyle?
____
Final takes:
Anyway, I do appreciate that in the final episode, they do put vaggie hair up in a ponytail. So that was nice
But I feel like some of the dialog should have been thought though a bit more before going in the all clear.
My review of episode 3 is coming soon, so stay tuned for that!
Aithusa *in her mind, holding a rabbit she caught*:I can kill you here or I can prolong your pain...
Kilgarrah *who can hear her thoughts*: Girl, what??
Aithusa *who watched Morgana torture her enemies*: Oh, mommy hunts for nutrition, just like I do :)
Aithusa clearly thinks Morgana ate her enemies.
arthur (in front of the entire court of camelot): i'd like to introduce the love of my life, the reason i keep living, and the biggest fucking headache i've ever had. merlin.
Canβt stop thinking about a very specific dynamic
A healer and a knight fall in love.
The healer spends hours healing everyone but themselves. Caring for the sick, stitching wounds, setting bones, pushing dislocated limbs back into place. Wearing themselves to exhaustion.
The knight gently tends to the healer. Holds them in a hot bath, rubbing the soreness from their muscles under the warm water. Applies balm to their chapped fingers. Brings them tea and tucks them into bed before climbing in beside them.
The knight defends everyone. Fights off the enemy with a sword and a shield, takes the blows intended for someone else, holds the line until help arrives, fights through any and all injuries they need to in order to defend those under their protection.
The healer defends the knight when theyβre down for the count. When the knight collapses, the healer takes up their sword and defends them until they get back to their feet. If someone dares to say anything against their knight they get in their faces and the healers words are sharp and cold as any blade, cutting deep into their opponent.
Remember when Merlin collapsed in front of everyone and all that Arthur did was roll his eyes and his close friend Gwaine just stared at him and the only one who rushed to check on him was Lancelot? What the hell was that about huh
Viv seems to want to be both edgy and progressive, but it doesn't work that way. Like, ya gotta commit to one or the other.
You can't just make SA jokes then turn around and have episodes about how wrong SA is.
Like if you're so afraid of the backlash, then either get a sensitivity reader or stop being pretentious acting like you're this beacon of lgbt rep when your writing and how you talk about trans men in private shows the exact opposite.
There's no such thing as a "progressive edgelord". Stop acting like there is, Vivienne.
MY REVIEW OF HAZBIN HOTEL EP 1!
~~~~
First thing off, I hate how the show just expects you to watch the pilot. Like the show feels like it made for viv fans who have been here from day one. Which is absolutely fine!
The thing is, the newer fans shouldn't have to feel stressed or overwhelmed trying to find out why episode 1 of hazbin Hotel didn't feel like episode 1! For example, if i got a doller for the number of people I saw post about the confusion they were feeling, I would probably be a millionaire.
So sadly, hazbin just feels like a show you have to do homework before watching it to find out what you are watching.
Okay, sorry for my rant π
Summary of the episode:
Charlie gets a call from her dad to attend a meeting with the angels in his place. She does so, and we get to meet the two antagonists of the season, Adam and Lute. In the second plot of the episode, we follow Vaggie as she tries to flim a commercial of the hotel to surprise Charlie with.
----
My issues with the episode short formed:
β Bad pacing
β some thing should've been kept secret for another episode to explore it further
β And it being episode 1, but instead, it was treated as episode 2 because the writers expected you to watch the pilot
~~~
My issues with the episode long formed:
β the episode was doing too much for a 20-minute episode. It felt like it was trying to keep itself in a standard 2 plot episode but the writers got super excited for plot A (charlie part) that they try to speed up plot B (vaggie and the hotel crew part) to get back to plot A as soon as possible or they didn't understand how to go about the two parts without it becoming to boring for the fans watching.
β Some things should have been kept a secret. And which I mean, some of the things we introduced in episode 1 should've had it own episodes dedicated for that plot.
I would have it that charlie enters the meeting doors. We never see her again until the end of the episode. The rest of the episode just focuses on vaggie, the hotel, and the disaster they are causing to make the commercial. Then, after the last couple minutes of the episode have charlie walked in defeat and crash. Vaggie asks what is wrong and tries to comfort charlie, but Charlie's stays quiet on what happened during the meeting and instead goes to her room. And vaggie left there defeated as she held the camera that has the commercial everyone worked together to make.
β as I said in the beginning, this show is quite all over the place. For you truly know what is going on, you have to go on youtube, watch the pilot, then go back to Prime and watch the rest of the episodes.

music for this episode:
I loved hell was forever! Like, I genuinely loved it so much!!!!!! If I choose a song to listen to again for the first time from Hazbin Hotel, I would choose hell was forever!
Happy day in hell, I'm sorry, but the song was okay. I didn't enjoy it that much, and if I were to rate the songs. This song would probably be one of the lasts. It just something about the song that just felt off about it.

Overall, I give this episode a 5.4/10! I would love what else people have to say as well!
I just realized stolas can remember blitz name and who was to him even though it probably been 20-30 years since they last saw each other.
But he can't remember a simple promise he made to his daughter, probably 10 years back?
I fucking hate the ugly gecko
Vassago character is just another character that wasn't really needed:
β his character doesn't add anything to the plot, story, or any of the characters as a whole
β Plus, the only character that is shown to really know vassago is andrealphus
Andrealphus and vassago argument sounded they knew each other and now hate each other
While..
When stolas is like, "the only way I know how...song."
Vassago loudly start saying, "Yes, Yes cantalo baby!"
Stolas looked at him as, "okayyyyyyy weird, but whatever."
If stolas was his friend or knew him, he would've been like, "Oh hey, vassago!" Or something like that
β as mentioned earlier, he contributed nothing to the trial/plot even though he was hyped up to be an important pivitol plot character for months
Only for him to say barely anything and only thing meaningful he did was saying that stolas was needed since this was his trial in way
But then nobody listened, and stolas ended up coming to basically just to save blitz life
