Overview: Omegaverse is an alternate universe where there are three genders in addition to male and female: alpha, beta, and omega. These three genders determine the person’s instinctual desires and special abilities unique to that gender, usually in relation to romance or bearing children.
The genders are based on wolf society (wolves have now been proven not to have these rankings, fun fact) so there’s a lot of talk of packs, mates and pups. Common slang for Omegaverse. The main story plot for Omegaverse universes (apart from romance) is usually some form of societal oppression towards omegas.
Omegaverse universes vary from person to person so if you see contradictions, that’s all a part of the fun. Mi mundo es tú mundo.
Something important for my Omegaverse!: In my Omegaverse I make it a point that these people are a different species. Everyone has both reproductive organs regardless of secondary or primary gender. The only difference in primary gender is whether or not the person is capable of producing breast milk.
Glossary:
Heat and Rut: The mating cycle of omegas and alphas respectively
Mate: Romantic life partner
Mating Bite/Mating Mark: A bite on the neck that marks someone as mated
Nest: A collection of blankets, pillows, soft things, put together in a nice comfort pile
Pack: A group of people who have bonded together
Presenting: The process of coming into your secondary gender, which is mostly dormant throughout childhood
Pup: A baby or someone who hasn’t presented yet
Scent: An identifying smell
Scenting: To add your smell to another temporarily
Secondary gender: Alpha beta or omega
Slick: (NSFW!) A white substance that leaks from the vagina during heat
Instincts: Each secondary gender has a set of instinctual needs or desires.
Scenting: A lot of Omegaverse involves using scent to identify yourself and others and who you hang out with most. It’s also used to identify which secondary gender people are but that doesn’t really work, even if people think it should.
Pups: Babies are their own gender, and that’s baby. This affects their scent as well.
Presenting: The great right of passage into adulthood.
Heats and Ruts: The mating cycle for omegas and alphas respectively (betas don’t really have a mating cycle). I don’t have rut headcanons in my world but I do have three posts helping describe heats: 1 2 3
Mates and Mating: This is is nsfw. It’s akin to consummating a marriage. The process of becoming mates.
Packs: Packs are groups of people who stick together. A family. People are born into one and then they sometimes find another one when they’re older. Packs are the Omegaverse’s found family.
Nesting: Nests are like the beds of Omegaverse. They’re ground blanket forts.
Bonus: Purring 1 2 3
Footnote: There’s plenty more. These are the basics found in almost all Omegaverses. Please note that these are from my Omegaverse, and you may encounter something different in another version. Welcome to A/B/O, Omegaverse!

URGENT!

I'm in an abusive home situation; my Douchebag Roommate throws out my things, threatens property damage to the house, has threatened physical violence and to literally shoot me. He sends creepy, obsessive, sexually harassing texts about my bathroom usage while purposely locking me out of the bathroom, has put cameras in my house. He just threw out my couches and "replaced" them. He moved his wife and child in without my or the property owner's permission, and hasn't paid his share of the bills in well over a year. He's started harassing me from multiple phone numbers so I can't block him.
I'm trying to get enough money together to move out. I must keep my current rent paid; I need the reference for a new place. It's on record at work that I'm experiencing financial abuse, barely getting by, and they still cut my hours down to almost nothing with zero warning. My chronic illness has been flaring and I'm now incredibly sick again.
Donations and reblogs are greatly appreciated.

PHS is a recurring pattern of emotional, physical and behavioral changes in the days before your period that impact your daily life. These include but are not limited to headaches, exhaustion, bleeding, cramping, touch avoidance, back pain, joint or muscle aches, and sleeping or digestive issues.
PHS can also be experienced through euphoric symptoms including but not limited to increased body euphoria, higher motivation, quicker thinking, and hyperactivity.
The most specific difference is that PHS symptoms impact your daily life. Many of us experience preheat exhaustion, but if your exhaustion means that you are unable to go to work then it would classify as a PHS symptom.
Many omegas find being touched in advance of their heat annoying, but if being touched - and we mean even casually here, a hand on your shoulder, holding hands, scenting chastely, etc - if this physically hurts you then you should see a doctor about this as it may be a symptom of PHS and in many cases can be treated with a topical cream.
It is normal to experience spotting before your heats, however if this spotting becomes heavy bleeding, lasts for more than two days, or causes pain, please see a medical professional.
Use a heat tracking app to track your preheat symptoms. Most good apps will have options for mild-moderate-severe levels of tracking for the most common symptoms and options to add your own if yours are not there. [See our linked post for our top ten heat tracking apps!]
Heat tracking apps will usually then give you an alert that your preheat is due and the better apps will include tips to mitigate your common symptoms.
This is good for you: you can see what symptoms you get with what regularity, and notice if it's a pattern or if it's a once off
This is good for your medical provider: they can see if your symptom patterns match with common PHS patterns, and if they do they can pass you on for further diagnoses. If they don't they can still recommend ways to allieviate symptoms that are causing you undue bother.
While the media portrayal of preheat often includes dehabilitating symptoms of preheat - and indeed heat - it is not true that every one of us who experiences a heat will experience a preheat.
Some of us will have a preheat that we do not notice but our mates or packmates do notice, for example. Some of us will not have a preheat at all, merely drop immediately into heat.
Dealing with preheat symptoms does not necessarily equate to PHS. Preheat syndrome is a medical diagnosis that can severely affect a person’s life, while preheat symptoms can feel uncomfortable but mild.
It’s important to understand the difference and know your body. Tracking your symptoms will help you learn more about your own unique experience — rather than the generalized behaviors of all people who experience heats.
I brought it up gently and explained how it all works, now we are working on a little document of all the traits and such we share. if I had one piece of advice it's to only do it if you feel they can "match your freak"
How have those of you with partners brought up being misceanimalis?
I want to bring it up with mine so he can get involved, but i am not sure how to do that exactly.
I like how this one is glowing like a powerful magic tome
