Something I noticed in Showdown

There's one tiny scene in Showdown that always facinates me. After RGBY were all killed in front of TSC's eyes, his reaction was very interesting.

He did not charge at TDL blindly in grief and rage, he did not break down crying for his friends, he did not dwell on his friends' deaths at all. Instead, he turned to TCO immediately.

When he saw Chosen was surrounded by the swarm of Virabots, he still reached out a hand towards Chosen, then promptly got pierced in the back by Dark's virablades.

For me, this tiny detail made Second different from those typical fearless, hotheaded anime protagonists. This scene alone made Second a fleshed out, realistic character more than anything else in the entire season.

Yes, of course he grieved for his friends' death, but at that very moment, the fear for his own life surpassed everything else. He saw that powerful monster brutally murdered all his friends, and he knew he's going to be next. So he reached out to the only person he knew that could save him, and made a desperate plea:

"Please, help me. I don't wanna die."

Second was many things. He was a talented animator, an insatiable learner, a brave leader, a seasoned warrior. But at that very moment, on the brink of real, permanent death, he was just a scared child calling someone, anyone, for help.

And that made his conscious decision to protect Chosen all the more powerful, because it shows how brave Second really is. He knew his chance against Dark was minimal, he was scared, terrified even, but he still chose to put himself between Chosen and Dark, just because it was the right thing to do.

And that is true bravery. Bravery doesn't mean the absence of fear, it means feeling the fear, but choose to do it anyway.

Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.

📚Here is my list:

The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.

"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.

"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.

"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.

"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.

"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.

"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.

"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.

"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.

Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.

📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.

For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.

NOTE: Some of these can work on almost any computer like Clip and Sai but others will require a bit stronger computer like Blender. Please check their sites for if your computer is compatible.

So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.

I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.

DID VICTIM AND DID TSC

Hear me out, no, fucking listen to me.

Victim has DID. Each past death + clones are an alter, the last one who survived is the host that split into two: one being the one left with memories of Mitsi and the other being the one we see front in the box.

Soon after AvA10, Victim realises that TSC is in the early stages of the same disorder with most of the alters not being very conscious.

Therefore, instead of trying to help or leaving it be, Victim Rocket (the host) purposefully worsens the situation and makes Orange split a shit ton of alters by various ways of torture and manipulation. Their alters try to stop them, but they can't. They're too weak to front.

They tell Shady Smith that it's to benefit from the kid's powers easier or some shit. But in reality, they see their "weak selves" (the rest of the alters) in TSC (+Yellow and TCO). They're trying to be "the superior one in the power dynamic". They are trying to control their surroundings.

Cowboy manages everything in The Second Coming system and puts Orange (the host) through many puzzles and challenges to keep them distracted and away from the front... away from whatever horrifying thing Victim is doing to them...

Victim knows the host is hidden deep in the mindspace. They try to lure the host out bc they deem the rest of the system useless. Orange tries to get out of there after realising what's been happening. Cowboy can only keep them* safe for so long...

*Every sentient being you see in AvE and more... (Yes, the Math symbols and the multi-dimentional creatures are alters.)
