WANDAVISION Season 1, Episode 1
What just happened on CNN? Im at work and so wasn’t somewhere I could watch
Sure I’ll sum up.
So there was a very good peaceful protest by…. Lafayette Park? Right outside the White House. They were chanting, they had multiple reporters in the crowd, it was fucking CHILL, people were waiting for Trump to do a speech in the Rose Garden.
Then, out of nowhere, truly NOWHERE, the cops closed in from three directions and threw gas into the crowd. They used rubber bullets on the crowd IMMEDIATELY. One dude told the reporter “They don’t care about news, move.” They drove out the totally fucking peaceful, pre-curfew protestors.
They moved them all out, and Trump started speaking, and you could hear the fucking gas going off over his speech. CNN fucking did a splitscreen to show the peopple being shoved back as the motherfucker stood up there and said he would protect our rights and would mobilize the military against people.
Then back to the reporters, and everyone was forced further and further away. One woman on a bike told the reporter “They are getting the water cannons ready, you wanna move.”
TURNS OUT.
ALL OF THIS.
WAS BECAUSE TRUMP WANTED A PHOTO OP AT THE CHURCH ACROSS THE STREET. HE WANTED THEM OUT OF THE WAY SO HE COULD STAND WITH A BIBLE IN FRONT OF A CHURCH.
Even CNN is calling him a dictator, at 7PM.
Then the Illinois governor came out and called him a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic failure.
ETA: OH AND AFTER THE FACT one of the CNN ppl said that the cops claimed they gave three warnings to the crowd to disperse. There were reporters literally in the crowd, and didn’t mention hearing anything along those lines and where as shocked as anyone when the crowd was forced to move. So they’re fucking lying.
Honestly, the more I think about the concept of them just snapping everyone back 5 years in the future, the worse it gets. It’s been 5 years. You have everyone who wasn’t snapped aged, and progressed, 5 years, while the others haven’t aged more than a few minutes. You have younger siblings who are now older siblings. You have spouses and partners that have moved on and found other people. You have people who have died and/or killed themselves (very possibly parents who lost their children in the snap, leaving those children to return to no one) A ton of people are returning to find their property was reclaimed, sold, and is no longer theirs. Their belongings, their money, it’s all gone because they were gone.
Not to mention that Peter basically confirmed that everyone returned to the exact location where they were snapped away (by telling Tony that he woke up where he originally had been along with Doctor Strange). What about everyone in airplanes? Cars? Any sort of transportation or location that no longer exists? Do they reappear elsewhere safely? Or do you have people reappearing in the sky and in dangerous circumstances/area? What about people reappearing in homes that are no longer theirs? Hospital beds where others are now residing?
It’s also shown that big cities really didn’t thrive post-snap. A lot was left abandoned and a lot was not functioning. Suddenly, the whole population is back, half of which nothing has changed for them, only to find their cities, their homes, are all in complete shambles and dysfunction.
The intention was good, but I absolutely can not imagine the sheer chaos and hysteria that this particular circumstance would have caused.
this list isn’t even close to a being a quarter of the wrongful African American deaths in America and if there is anyone you’d like me to add please message me. I will gladly add them because people deserve to know their names.
Staying home as much as possible during the pandemic is an urgent public health issue - it’s prioritizing community safety.
Protesting beatings and murders by the police is also an urgent public health issue, and Black Lives Matter protests are also prioritizing community safety.
There is no contradiction.
Protests are an urgently necessary reason to leave the house. They aren’t something frivolous like a haircut, they’re a matter of protecting public health and community safety. Black lives do matter.
