๐Ÿž Thyme Focaccia, A Simple Spell To Attract Good Health. ๐Ÿž Perfect For Lughnasadh / Lammas ๐Ÿž

Ingredients

7g fast action yeast or 15g fresh yeast

1tsp sugar

200mL warm water (37ยฐC/100ยฐF)

350g strong white bread flour

4tbsp olive oil

1tsp grounded salt

1tsp grounded pepper

A good handful of fresh thyme (the more the better honestly)

๐Ÿž Thyme Focaccia, A Simple Spell To Attract Good Health. ๐Ÿž Perfect For Lughnasadh / Lammas ๐Ÿž

Recipe

In a bowl, mix the yeast with sugar and warm water until frothy. Let it rest, if the foam is growing, your yeast is activated.

In a big bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper and thyme together. Make a small hole and add the olive oil and the mix of yeast and water.

Knead everything for at least 10 minutes (if you're doing it by had) or 5 minutes if you are using a robot.

Form a big ball and rub a bit of oil around it. Put in a clean bowl, recover with cling film and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour - 1h30) in a warm place protected from the wind (it will not rise)

Flatten the dough into a baking sheet, cover again and let it rise again for 1 hour.

Pre heat the oven 220ยฐC / 425ยฐF.

Lightly press the top of the dough with your fingers to make little dimples, drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Cook for about 15 minutes, until the top is a lovely golden colour.

๐Ÿž Thyme Focaccia, A Simple Spell To Attract Good Health. ๐Ÿž Perfect For Lughnasadh / Lammas ๐Ÿž

Magick

Lughnasadh or Lammas is known as the feast of bread, this recipe would be perfect for your celebrations!

In this recipe thyme is used to attract good health. The plant was burned by the Greeks to purify temples. It is also carried and smelled to give courage and energy. Salt and Pepper are for protection.

Don't forget to prepare yourself and your kitchen when you are doing this spell. Before preforming kitchen witchery I always meditate on my intention, take a cleansing shower. I also prepare my kitchen: I clean it and cleanse it. I also love listening to music when I am cooking. I take the time to really feel the energy of the ingredients I am cooking with. If you are working with deities, a simple prayer and a offering can help! If you don't prepare yourself and your space you are just cooking, there is nothing magical in it.

Seeing the bread rising is kind of magical in itself, it reconnect with an ancestral tradition. To me the fact of rising enhance the properties of the other ingredients.

Baby witch master-post

I know a lot of baby witches have trouble with finding where to start out so I complied a list of good resources for the absolute beginner witch!! Hope this helps โค๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

Witchy starter terms

Witch terms pt.2

Witchcraft symbols

Tree magick

Herb master post

(smudging is a term from Native American that is not an open practice, smoke cleansing is called Smoke Cleansing, smudging is closed as well as white sage and san palo, important Native American herbs)

I would definitely look into what are closed practices, as to avoid any cultural appropriation as many things like โ€˜honey jarsโ€™ or hoodoo powders are actually from closed or semi closed practices. It is important to know where these come from and itโ€™s cultures as to avoid closed practices appropriation and to use some things like Nazar or chakras to know the significance and actual history and if you can work with them or not. Especially with spells or Deities or anything new.

Some closed practices info (not all of the closed practices in the world)

I would wait to do spells until you have all your information and research and do protection spells for your first spells. Also I wouldnโ€™t do blood magick, as it is very powerful and can have major consequences if you donโ€™t know what your doing, and spirit work or any work with deities.

I would definitely also look into some history of witchcraft and paganism (not just Wicca to the 1960โ€™s history, but of the growth of witchcraft in the Renaissance era as well as traditional magic with the Greeks, to Celtic etc, as the impacts of those occultists, as some are very problematic like Crowley), as well as the impacts of other cultures and practices like Hinduism, Native American, Jewish Mysticism etc on modern western spirituality and giving that homage back to those cultures e.g chakras, yoga, spirit animals (closed practice), smudging, dream catchers, Kabbalah etc

The sabbats are holidays celebrated throughout the year on solstices, equinoxes, and the midpoints between them. These sabbats form the Wheel of the year.

There is a controversy surrounding the dates of these holidays, as people celebrate them all over the earth, not only in the northen hemisphere but in the southern too.ย

One viewpoint is that the Sabbats should be celebrated as they were originally created to beโ€ฆ in other words, Samhain is October 31st, regardless of where you live. In the Southern Hemisphere, even though you are just gearing up to summer on October 31st, this perspective says that you celebrate the cleansing and releasing, the honouring of the dead just as you would if you lived in the Northern Hemisphere. The other viewpoint (the one I personally agree with) is that you should celebrate when you feel like the season corresponds with the holiday, in other words, your craft, your rules. So if you live in the southern hemisphere, you have the choice.

Iโ€™ll be writing the dates for each holiday starting with the northen hemisphere and then the dates that many people celebrate them in the southern hemisphere
