Please help me afford life-saving insulin and other meds!

hi everyone I know I haven’t been on here in a while, i’m so sorry if anyone was worried. I hate to have to ask for help again but it’s a serious health issue and I don’t know what else to do. I have type 1 diabetes that I’m prescribed human analog insulin in pen form for; there’s about 14 pens every month (one main dose of long-acting a day plus one dose of fast-acting per meal) and several medications. All these meds are extremely expensive and my parents told me the terrible insurance they receive thru work that barely covered them in part before wont cover them at all anymore. we’ve tried a patient assistance program but the application hasn’t been responded to yet and this state probably has a massive backlog of them. without actually saying they won’t, my parents are basically refusing to pay for them ‘right now’ because there are “more serious expenses that have to come first” since they affect the whole household and not just me even though I literally NEED these meds to survive and keep functioning well.

this is partly because I had to cry and beg my parents to let me start getting treatment in the first place. they still don’t like the fact that I’m even taking meds and think I don’t truly need them even though the improvement in me compared to before is so clear. they’re a little more understanding about my diabetes/insulin needs since they know it’s out of my control (I’m lucky I don’t have type 2 tbh) but they’ve still decided that it has to take a backseat. I can’t afford to wait until they feel like everything else that’s ‘more important’ than my wellbeing is taken care of, I’m really worried about the damage my MH could take if I’m off my medication for too long and missing insulin doses on top of that will just make it worse and actually puts my life in danger.

Trying to stagger my eating so I’m having less meals every day helps stretch my mealtime doses out a little longer. right now I only have enough doses left to last about 1 1/2 more weeks so if I can’t raise enough money to at least afford the insulin, I’ll probs have to start rationing them — and if I have to do that for too long it’s very likely to end up killing me. if anyone can spare anything AT ALL to help cover the cost of all my medications, any amount wld truly be so helpful and mean so much! even if you can’t support by d/nating, just reblogging this post to b00st it helps alot! please please share!

PSA regarding tumblr’s latest Censorship Nightmare

For those of you who haven’t seen this announcement, tumblr recently made some changes to the iOS version of the app, purportedly to comply with Apple’s content guidelines. These changes took effect on Dec 21, starting in version 22.5.1 of the iOS app. As some of you may recall, Apple’s strict guidelines were the driving force for the infamous Great Purge of 2018, which coincidentally also happened around this time of year, but it seems banning all of the female-presenting nipples wasn’t good enough for Apple.

Below is a summary of the important changes. Note that these changes technically ONLY affect those using the iOS app. If you’re accessing tumblr through a different app or operating system (Google Chrome, Android app, etc) it won’t affect you directly but it will affect your followers who use iOS so you should definitely be aware of it.

The list of banned tags has been expanded. As before, there’s no way to know which words or phrases have been banned until you try searching for them, in which case you’ll either get no search results or the following message: “This content has been hidden because of potentially suggestive or explicit content.” You may think this doesn’t concern you if you don’t post explicit material, but do not make the mistake of expecting the banned tags to be logical or reasonable. I’ve already encountered multiple completely innocuous posts (random fandom gifsets) that seem to be hidden on iOS for no discernible reason.

Blogs that have been flagged as explicit can no longer be viewed. Previously, flagged blogs just had their posts hidden from searches, but if you knew the username you could still visit it after clicking through a warning about sensitive content. Now you can’t access it at all.

Likes and reblogs from blogs that have been flagged will no longer show up in your notes. This one won’t affect most people’s user experience as much as the others, but it does mean you may be missing notes. It’s unclear if likes and reblogs from flagged blogs will still count towards the overall note total (and only be missing from the activity feed and note viewer) but I suspect that’s the case.

THE BIG ONE: ANY POST TAGGED WITH A BANNED TAG WILL NO LONGER SHOW UP ON YOUR DASHBOARD. Previously, if you tagged a post with a banned word or phrase (even if the words were used inside another tag), that post would not show up in searches, but your followers would still be able to see it on their dashboard. Now those posts are hidden from your own followers as well. This includes both original posts and reblogs. And if that wasn’t bad enough, here’s the real kicker: even if you don’t tag something with one of the banned words, if the OP used a banned tag, any reblogs of that post will not show up on anyone’s dashboard (on the iOS app). The only saving grace here, and I hate to even call it that, is that the blocked posts are still visible if you visit a blog directly or if you have post notifications turned on.

As usual, tumblr was extremely unclear and evasive about all of this in their official announcement. Not surprising, of course, since if more people were aware of these new draconian tactics I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be more of an uproar about it. Tumblr claims that these changes are somewhat temporary and that they are currently working on something that will allow for a less restricted iOS experience, but they refuse to say what that something is and when it will be implemented. And let’s just say, considering their track record, I’m not hopeful.

All of this is horrible and infuriating for many reasons, but the worst part is how insanely counterproductive it is to creating the “safe” environment tumblr (or more specifically Apple) supposedly wants.

Tags have always been used for both blog organization and filtering purposes. Tagging posts with triggers and content warnings is a common practice that gives users the ability to filter out content they may find upsetting or just don’t don’t want to see for whatever reason. By choosing to ban a bunch of unlisted “sensitive content” tags, all they’re doing is encouraging people who want to share that kind of content to come up with alternative less well-known tags or simply not tag that content at all anymore if they want it to show up on their follower’s dashboards, thereby making it more likely for someone to encounter it when they didn’t want to.

So really, with all of the alleged concern for safety and “protecting the children,” all they’ve done is make tumblr less safe for everyone. Typical.

My C!MCYT headcannons pt. 2

Heyyyy I remembered I actually can post shit on Tumblr and I promised a part 2 so here it is please enjoy! Please note this is all my own opinion and that I apologize if you dislike them, I may change certain aspects of already created lore and some parts of Minecraft as a whole to fit my ideals better.

TWs: cursing, death, mentioned witchcraft (????), death, “accounting” (Wil said Sally was an accountant and we all know what that truly means), possession, abandonment, trauma (ig?)

- witchdoctorponkwitchdoctorponkwitchdoctorponk- Ponk is a doctor in the SMP (I can’t remember if this is cannon or nah but it is in this reality) when someone gets hurt on the SMP they usually go to him, but because most medicines and such in Minecraft are y’know potions he knows his way around them and as a joke people call Ponk a witch-doctor.  He’ll give people all kinds of neat potions and such to help them recover faster or ease pain, and since to make the complicated potions needed for his lien of work he ends up falling into the hole of witchcraft.

- Charlie knows more than he lets on, he’s been around for thousands of years- and is the same age if not older than Philza (who I hc to be almost 33,000+ years old).  He’s definitely seen some shit, he just may not want to reveal or accept what he’s seen, because of this he puts on the mask of knowing little about the world to shield not only himself but also those he cares about from the horrors he’s seen through the years.

- I am in support of Demon Sapnap, he’s like a hybrid of whatever tf Bad is and to me it just makes more sense that a demon would adopt another demon.

- “if Bad adopted Sapnap would he count as a dilf?” “Ace shut your mouth.”

- (After being reminded of Puffy’s boundaries, I am changing this to only speak of my dad!Schlatt and son!Tubbo theory) Tubbo is Schlatt’s son, or at the very least we think he is, for my headcannons I’m just saying they are.  Tubbo’s mom I’d assume was either human or some other horned hybrid (probably another sheep hybrid) but due to Schlatt’s alcohol problems and bad attitude she probably left him not long after Tubbo was born which lead to Schlatt being unable to take care of him and his addictions getting worse yadda yadda. AND NO HE WAS NOT ADOPTED BY PHIL.

- while we’re still on the topic of Puffy- they use to be a pirate captain, but settled down after a while then later adopted Foolish.  But Foolish was not the cause of her leave, but rather she needed a break for the dangerous pirate life which lead her to the SMP.  She stayed for a while but by the time she was finally ready her crew had already left her behind because she had taken too long.  She eventually forgot about her days as a pirate until many years later when she found the ship again.

- Tubbo and Ranboo have confirmed that their C!characters are indeed in a romantic relationship but I’m not ready to accept that Tubbo fell in love with the enderman he was suppose to steal money from. (He can do better smh ✋🙄)

- Ranboo teleports in his sleep which is the only way Tubbo is actually able to go to sleep because it means that there is no longer a monster nearby since they keep Micheal in a separate house (if I’m remembering lore correctly that is).

- purpled is an alien, what kind of alien we don’t know.

- Sally wasn’t an accountant that deals with letters and numbers, she was an “Accountant”.  She ran away with Wilbur to live happily with their child, but then cause Salmon don’t lie very long she died of natural causes.  Wilbur was thrown in a deep, deep, depression which somehow lead him down the path of making a drug van.

- If Velvet (antforst’s significant other) joined the SMP there are two things that may happen. 1.  He’d be able to undo whatever the egg did to Ant.  The whole true love conquers all trope but in a different way, it’s still true love but instead it’s giving Ant the motivation he needs to fight back against the egg and possibly helping save everyone else. 2.  He’d join the egg in order to be with Ant just as Bad did for Skeppy, history repeating itself almost.  Though I think it’d be 1 instead there is still this possibility, the Egg lures people in through empty promises of giving them their greatest desires, and Velvet’s greatest desire would most likely to be with Ant.  This lead to Velvet’s possession, yada yada, bam! More food for the fan artists.

- Dream is homeless but also not, like he has a house but it’s not his and he’s rarely there.  So someone on the SMP (idk who, probably Foolish) had built him a house as a gift in the earlier days of the SMP, but nobody knew of it other than person who built it.  But the person who built it still technically owns it making it their house and not Dreams, because of this Dream isn’t there often since he was too busy, then he went to Prison and it was basically abandoned.

Jock is struggling in his classes and his forced to be tutored by the nerds, at first isn’t happy about it before he gets to know the nerds discovering they’re actually cool as fuck.  At first jock had assumed they were turned-nose-smartasses who’d just criticize him for not knowing the material, when in reality they’re just average people who just so happened to be good at their classes.  The nerds did also think lowly of him at first but warmed up a lot sooner than him (basically within the week) and are overall just really kind and good people. Jock acts as their protector from the wannabe popular kids who try to pick on them, whereas they act as jocks protector from rude teachers and the same wannabes.

Bonus points if Jock is a himbo and book nerd is an uncover Bimbo.

Shout out to the people who actually read this, thank you I’m new to this whole tumblr fandom thing so if my head cannons upset you I apologize.  I will be going against lore or what streams have confirmed as lore because I am too sexy for rules.  These aren’t in any kind of order also.

I will also be changing some parts of Minecraft itself for parts of the head cannons because I am god at the moment.

TWs: swearing, death was said like once or twice, worried about mum and dads relationship given that it’s a bird and his fridge wife who’s secretly the goddess of death, and Karlnapity ✨angst✨

- Eret is a flamingo hybrid.  That’s all I have to say for this one.

- Technoblade is a Piglin Brute, he fancy, he strong, he’s like 8″ in cannon, and he scares the shit out of me.  He is the brute.  However, he doesn’t like to admit it for a strange reason, he finds the system in which Piglin’s elect their brutes similar to a government system and idk he just doesn’t like being a brute.

- Wilbur and Tommy are Philza’s only kids.  I’m sorry but I can’t get behind the Wilbur and Techno twin thing, a death bird and a the goddess of death disguised as a fridge having two human children I can let slide.  A Piglin Brute however? Nah, it’s supposed to be a weird ass family but there is only so much I can take.  Instead Techno is more like the son Philza never had despite having two sons, Techno seeing Phil as a fatherly figure but not his actual father and vice versa.

- Tommy once got so pissed off at Revivbur that he just like, took his old guitar and threatened to beat him with it.

- ✨Angst✨ I see many people depicting Quackity wearing a necklace with Karl and Sapnap’s rings on it and I am down for a jewelry wearing Quackity don’t get me wrong, but I need to make angst.  Quackity had the necklace and wore it for a very very long time, but when he realized that Karl and Sapnap weren’t coming back he stopped wearing.  It’s tucked away in a box under his bed for when he’s finally ready to let go.

- Philza is a mega simp for Mumza which is why he built the forest.  Mumza had asked her husband to make her someplace she could stay so that the two of them could finally be together again, she wanted to be apart of her family’s lives even if being the goddess of death made it difficult.  So Philza being Philza he made her the forest, after she settled in she was sure to enchant it just to have the extra feel of “home”.

- Callahan kinda fine.

- This was a debate a while ago if Foolish wore a Greek toga thing or if he had “little totem shorts” (if you don’t read that in a snooty voice leave).  Because of the whole Demi-god thing I’d say he wears a toga, however, that doesn’t mean he can’t be comfortable.  When he’s in his more “human friendly form” (small foolish) he wears the little totem shorts and one of those Hawaiian dad shirts. (Fun fact, I own one of those.)

- Karl knows that these are his friends in the Tales of the SMP, he just forgets before can make some kind of reminder.

- Dream picks/bites his nails, I say while I pick at my own nails.  For real tho I just think it’s something he’d do.

- Sam is still a creeper, but instead of having the weird centaur thing he just has and extra pair of arms.  The arms save him from some of the hard work that comes with redstone.

- Punz is too busy counting his bounty money to care what is going on in the SMP, and yes I know he’s part of the eggpire however….solo Punz hits different, it’s the girl boss for me.

- Glatt, enemy to Schlatt, tried to do that thing where you bury a bunch of coins with you so you can get a better afterlife but it didn’t work.  Now he’s just stuck with all these golden coins in his pockets constantly clinking against one another.

- Niki knows how to sew and has made fun patches for Tommy when L’manberg was still a thing.

- Eret’s aesthetic is that one rich wine aunt with a pink color palette that visits you every 2nd Christmas just to shower you with gifts and make your parents insecure.  Also would only show up to Thanksgivings if something important happen (ex: someone dying or a new edition to spoil).

The towns people are extremely scared of this evil and powerful witch that lives in the surrounding forest, nobody knows her name all they know is if you try to get near her she’ll curse you.

the truth is, the witch in question is extremely anti-social and putting curses on the over-friendly towns people was the only way to get them off her back.  She’s not evil, she just wants to collect herbs and medicines in peace.
