I’ve been in a redraw mood!
Original caption for context: An episode where Picard is infected by an alien parasite that makes him slowly downgrade all of their systems and send the aliens all of the information about their technology so that the Enterprise is able to be conquered. The first symptom of which: old uniforms.
Mini continuación a mi anterior comic con mi trio favorito + Naomi.
Que bonito que Naomi tiene con quien solidarizarse en tener a sus mamás en Voyager :>
Mini continuation to my previous comic with my favorite trio +Naomi.
How nice that Naomi has who to bond with over having their moms aboard Voyager :>

Snw Spock needs more sass. We want judgy eyebrow raises and snarky comments poorly disguised by logic
What if Scotty is not actually Scottish, though?
Like, what if his name just happens to be Montgomery Scott, so all of his friends started calling him “Scotty,” and then every time he was introduced to a new person, they would be like “Oh, are you Scottish? My uncle was Scottish!”
And finally, he just gets sick of explaining the situation, so he starts replying with “aye, laddie!” But then it turns out that the person he said that to was Captain Kirk, and he doesn’t want to admit that he lied to his new commanding officer, so he has to keep speaking in a ridiculously over-the-top brogue and commenting constantly on how much he loves drinking Scotch, and by the time that he realises that Kirk would have found humour in the situation, he’s in too deep and can’t stop pretending, and it gradually just becomes his normal speech pattern.
Then, years later, the Enterprise is being inspected by a Starfleet engineer who’s actually Scottish, and Scotty takes him on a walking tour of his warp engines and is all like “Auch! Here be me wee bairns!” and the other engineer is just like “what the fuck is wrong with you?”
I take the fact that James Doohan is Canadian as evidence of this theory.
Trying to convince my nerdy best friend to watch TOS with me like
I love you hard science fiction I love you hard fantasy I love you stories that explain exactly what happens and why I love you logical progressions I love you magic treated like science I love you detailed explanations of fantastical situations
Hot Take: the reason why 'Lower Decks' (and 'The Orville') "feel more like Star Trek" than do 'Discovery' or 'Picard' is because the baseline for American drama series has gotten so dark over the last twenty years that a tone matching 90s Star Trek can now only be achieved by marketing it as a comedy.
And yes, when you think about it, that's...kind of sad.
All other comic lines can leave this is my new favorite one
kirk's response to spock saving him in 2x5 is not normal... he's so angry (to cover up his concern). i think its interesting that he says "do you realize how much starfleet has invested in you?"-- I think kirk often legitimizes how he feels about spock by invoking starfleet. it's so obvious that he was shocked, and he doesnt want spock to die, but he can't say that. and then his little "but.... thank you" at the end??? it's so heartfelt aahhh
i also love that spock didn't think of warning jim of the plant (like jim suggests). he also 'in a moment of clumsiness' takes the poisonous plant darts in his chest instead of jim. i think it's pretty clear that he was too emotional to think clearly upon watching his captain in danger.
Star Trek! The original series, the next generation, voyager, deep space 9, lower decks, and strange new worlds. Hopefully I'll get around to the others some day. Sometimes I'll post something else. Let's build a world we can be proud of!
