Give me an Enjolras that is emotional

Give me an Enjolras that does express his emotions.

Give me an Enjolras who cries for the plight of the people. Whose voice cracks in the middle of meetings when he talks about the people who are in need of desperate help. Who sheds tears for the whole of humanity. Who needs to take a moment to calm his shaking voice when he speaks of their new cause. Who steps out of meetings every so often because all this suffering, this darkness, this despair is taking a toll on him.

Give me an Enjolras who loves and cares for his friends. Who smiles when Jehan recites his newest written poem. Who laughs at Bossuet's awful jokes. Who grins when he sees Bahorel laugh about his latest fight. Whose mouth curves in a brilliant beam when Grantaire asks him out. Who gets excited with Combeferre when he tells him he got accepted into medical school. Who plays along to Courfeyrac's melodramatics. Who puts his hand on Feuilly's shoulder and softly tells him to rest because he knows he's tired. Who laughs lightly at Joly's antics. Who teases Marius about his hopeless crush on Cosette.

Because I'm so tired of seeing the same "stoic" or "constantly angry" Enjolras. He's so much more than that. Hugo himself says he's "charming." Enjolras is human, let him feel that way.

Watching a production of les mis that actually takes med student Joly seriously:

him bandaging up most of the students after the first round of gunfire

him dashing around feeling foreheads and checking bandages during calm scenes

some of the boys desperately dragging him over to check on Eponine after a little fall if rain and him just shaking his head

him crying with and holding Marius

him anxiously checking on people before finally passing out during drink with me

taking care of Prouvaire before he dies in the final battle

it was absolutely a background plotline that you wouldn't notice unless you knew who all of them were but it made me absolutely sick

I finally didn't forget Maxims birthday this year so I was able to make something on his b-day. Thought this song was perfect for him since it's about a corrupt politician and Maxims literally known as THE INCORRUPTIBLE but the Thermidor propaganda did such irreparable damage to his image that it's fitting to put him into an animatic with such an oxymoron of a song. (the name itself being also a sort of oxymoron)
