When Jungwon's mom had come into his room, with a traffic light of emotions on her face, concern and happiness blended with curiosity he had expected many things. He however did not expect her to chirp out, "A friend has come to visit you!" ; because a friend in his context could have meant anything. A bully(he was almost always expecting this), someone to rudely remind him of upcoming projects and due in library books. However the last person he expected was Niki, his junior and his now-dead-bully-Jay's younger brother to come visit him.

The endearing smile and the chocolates Niki had given Jungwon's mother was enough for her to smile and approve of Jungwon's supposed "friend". Jungwon had not taken out his eyes from Niki the second he stepped into his house. Niki, however hardly batted an eye , he acted like Jungwon's forever friend fooling his parents with charming eyes and pretty face. Why had he come here? Did he know something? Wait fuck Jungwon relax its not like you actually murdered someone.....not exactly.

The minute his mother stepped out of the room to get some snacks, Niki's jaw relaxed and his achingly bright grin slipped to reveal a more sinister expression. ah there it is, his real face , Jungwon thought.

Niki threw his bag on the floor and rubbed his neck. His eyes met Jungwon's and Niki scoffed, "Okay, i'm not here to play with you alright? I'm going to ask you some questions and answer them for me. Whatever you know, don't even try to hold back."

Jungwon's brow raised at his tone of voice and cocky body language, like-like Jungwon was below him. Jungwon had gotten used to this feeling too many times now, so why did he feel anger surge through his veins? Why did he feel an unexplainable urge to punch him?

It was because this was only used at school. Right now, Niki was in his turf. He was in his house uninvited and certainly not welcomed and Nikki had the audacity to disrespect him in his house.

"And why should I?" Jungwon questioned boldly, Niki who had been cracking his knuckles out of stress snapped his head in mild surprise and annoyance. He took two steps forward and Jungwon almost scoffed in amusement at Niki's attempt to intimidate him. Did he really think he'll let these fuckers bully him at his own place? Jungwon's parents might not have been the most attentive but between having to tackle two jobs, home and bills they still wouldn't let their own son be harassed and they certainly wouldn't turn a blind eye.

"Don't play dumb with me Jungwon, you know exactly what im talking about. I saw your face that day. That wasn't just shock or horror. You know something I don't, don't you, well spit it out I didn't come all the way here to this place to go without any answers."

The way Niki emphasised this place like it was something not worthy of him triggered something inside Jungwon that he never knew existed. The very place that his parents had worked hard to get. And he had the absolute nerve to pretend like he'd rather spit on the ground than taint his shoes. But Jungwon didn't let his mask drop, his face remained neutral but inside his head was a traffic of cars , all of them honking one after the other making it difficult to think one thing at a time, so he said the first things that came to his mind,

"You'd be stupid to think I know anything about your brother's death, and especially as I'm anything but sad at his death."

Niki's expression contorted with fury and shock, he made a fast move in bringing his hand up to the air ready to strike Jungwon, but Jungwon wasn't taking anyone's shit today. He was sick. He was tired. He should be glad that the two people that tortured him the most were now gone. That without them he would live a quiet life. Jungwon didn't understand why he willingly let himself investigate and get caught up in this nasty web. He should be happy and satiated, wasn't this what he wanted? Peace and quiet.

But this wasn't what Jungwon was feeling. Everything that surged through his brain the past month was anger, confusion, fear , and Niki had come in the wrong time and wrong place just in line to face his month-no scratch that years full of stress and rage. With one swift movement Jup fucking around. Niki's face changed from anger to fear so fast that Jungwon let out a hollow chuckle. Fuck this was all it took to make this fucker scared? Why didn't he do this before?

Niki desperately tried to get up, throwing himself on the wall even more trying to get as much distance from him and Jungwon as possible but instead he confined himself to a smaller space. A space just enough for Jungwon to cage him in and slowly touch the edges of Niki's collar. He stopped just enough for Niki to relax a tiny bit and then fisted his shirt harshly bringing Niki's face centimetres away from him.

Jungwon wanted to do a million things at the moment. Jungwon had never felt in power before and at this moment that he did, in a sickening way he loved every fucking second of it. He loved the fear on his captors face,. He wanted to see every single person that hurt him this way and feed off their thundering hearts. And afterall, what better way to release years of bottled up stress into his bully's brother? Why not give him a taste of what he deserves ?

And just as quickly as the feelings entered him, they faded away just as quickly as he really focused on Niki's face. He analysed it for a second and let his hands drop to his sides. Anyone seeing this would call him stupid. Why show weakness again? Why stop now? Why let karma do the job? Why not do Karma's job himself?

The answer was stupid, as stupid as every 2000's cliche coming of age movie that were desperate but always failed to depict real highschool. Because unlike the movies he didn't get water splashed on him, he didn't have a crush on the mean popular girl. And he sure as well wasn't going to give the bully another chance. But....he wasn't going to become one either. He wasn't like them right? He wasn't a fucking sadist right?

He wasn't going to hurt Niki, but he wouldn't let him get away with this either. Slowly regaining his short adrenaline filled breaths Jungwon narrowed his eyes at Niki who was still trembling from the impact of the throw and tightned his hold, "If you ever fucking question me or disrespect me again. I'll fucking kill you."

It was an empty threat really, after all Jungwon could hardly even lift a stray hair of Niki without his parents probably suing the school. But this time Niki's parents weren't there and although the threat was empty, the empty spaces was filled with a clear warning to back the fuck up

And just like that, Niki took his bag and rightfully disappeared. Jungwon collapsed on his bed, sighed and squeaked under the weight.

Fuck, can't I get just one moment of peace? Just one moment where I'm not thrown into a series of pain?

Ding!

Jungwon groaned, shifting to the side of the bed to get his phone from the bedside table. Already dreading having to text his mom to not get the snacks. His eyes drooped down. She seemed so happy at the mention of a friend.....

But what Jungwon saw on his notification screen wasn't his mom. It wasn't anyone he knew either which just made it a whole worse.

With trembling hands Jungwon fumbled about his phone and opened the message refusing to believe,

You can thank me later ;).

That's what the message read, and faster than Jungwon could comprehend, the message was deleted as soon as it was marked as seen. A shiver went through his spine and his stomach was a jungle of nerves. It was as if whoever had sent the message....was waiting for him to see it and had deleted it when they knew that all Jungwon needed to do was to see it. That was their purpose.

But why? Why him?

It felt as if you'd only been asleep for a few minutes before you woke up to a loud crashing sound. You almost jumped out of your skin when you looked around to see you were alone on the couch.

You lept up and quickly ran to your room to find Jake destroying his desk. "Jake?! What are you doing?" you asked, frantically. You looked around to see a hole punched into the wall, decorated with small speckles of blood.

"Did you really think I wouldn't find out?" he shot you a cold stare as you stood perplexed in the door frame. You looked down to see his bruised-bloody knuckles that were tinted red as he gripped the pair of back of the chair.

"Find out about what Jake?"

"Find out that you've been lying to me for the past few months. You never planned on quitting that damn job, did you?"

"J-Jake," you stumbled on your words trying to think of the right thing to say. "I was going to tell you," you spat frantically.

You hadn't seen this violent side of Jake for months and it felt like everything was coming back to you all at once.

Tears rolled down your cheeks as you felt your chest tightening from the loss of oxygen. You could feel the air leaving your body as you began fighting for air. "I wanna watch you die," he muttered coldy as his voice faded into the dark abyss that encompassed your surroundings. "Jake~" you cried weakly as you gripped onto his arms. His face was the last thing you saw before the darkness consumed everything.

After what felt like seconds, your eyes shot open and you gasped for air.

"It's okay, baby. I'm here. It was just a dream," you heard Jake say calmly, pulling you out of the darkness. You fell into Jake's arms as you realized that it was all just one horrible nightmare. And thank god for that.

You looked over to see Sunghoon sitting next to Jake with a puzzled expression. "Damn. That must've been one hell of a dream," Sunghoon said looking at the sweat beads that laced your hairline. "What was it about anyways?"

"I-umm...I don't remember," you lied. You could vividly remember every second of every minute in that nightmare. The way Jake looked at you with his dark, souless eyes as he drained every last ounce of breath from your lungs.

"Hey guys," Jay said walking through the door. His sudden entrance pulled you out of your thoughts. "I hope you guys weren't waiting for me," he chuckled as he placed his keys on the hook near the front door.

"Of course we were," Jake said before standing up and walking over to Jay. "We wanted to see you before we leave tonight."

"Tonight?" Jay's eyes widened at his words. "I thought you were leaving in the morning."

"We were, but I don't want to waste a whole day traveling," Jake laughed before wrapping an arm around Jay's shoulder.

"Well, let's all share one celebratory beer before you depart on your romantic adventure," Jay chuckled.

"I think that's a great idea," Jake smiled. You watched as the two of them walked to the kitchen to grab a beer for everyone.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Sunghoons voice took your eyes off of Jake.

"Yeah...why?" you asked suspiciously.

"It's just that Jake had walked away while you were sleeping and I saw you started crying...you also said Jake's name...kinda like you were scared of him or something. I Just want to make sure everything's okay before you run off alone with him," Sunghoon said with a worried look on his face.

"Oh...yeah. Well it was just a silly dream. And Jake has been pretty chill lately so I think I'm good," you hesitantly replied, rubbing your hands together.

"Alright...I'm just making sure. But if you feel unsafe at any time out there call me okay," Sunghoon reached for your shoulder. "You know I'll be there for you," he smiled comfortingly.

Sunghoon was the one person who actually witnessed the monster Jake could really be. Every now and then he would ask about how you were doing and if Jake had tried anything else. And for the most part you were honest with him.

[ Doors closing, Going up ] Interestingly enough, the inside was just as decorative as the outside of the building.

[ Doors opening, Floor eight ] the voice chimed again as the doors slid open. "We're in room 826 which should be...right...down this hall," Jake said as he manuvered the luggage cart. You skipped ahead of him to swipe the keycard and unlock the door for him.

The room followed a modern theme featuring a variety of shades of black and grey with gold accents. Jake pulled your forehead to his lips. "I'm gonna go shower before joining you in bed. Just let me put this stuff in our room, okay," Jake said before walking through the sliding barn door that hid your bedroom.

Eager, you slowly crept forward, but the sound of leaves cracking under your foot started the animal. Both you and the deer froze maintaining eye contact and shared emotions of wonder and fear.

According to the otopsy, you died from drowning, but there were enough drugs in your system to kill you regardless.

"She was just so happy before she left. Even when she called the day before she went missing she was happy. Only if I would've picked up...maybe she'd still be here," Sunghoon sighed with tears welling in his eyes.

Jake helped your parents put together your funeral and stopped by the florist he visited to pick up the flowers to surprise you with.

"Oh it's you again," the girl said as Jake walked up to the register. He was wearing a black button down shirt and some slacks. "What's the occasion this time?" the girl asked seeing that he was standing there with an empty expression wearing all black.

"My dead girlfriend's funeral," he replied.

"Wait...is this the one you came in for the other day?"

Jake nodded in response before covering his eyes with his hands. The girl immediately came around the counter to hug him. "I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure this must be really hard for you," she said as she continued comforting Jake as he cried into her shoulder.

"These flowers are beautiful. I know she would've loved them," she smiled wiping Jake's tears away with her thumb.

"Yeah...she would've," he sniffled.

"I'm about to close for the day. How about I come with you to the funeral? That way you won't be alone. I promise to keep you laughing," she smiled.

"Here's your last meal, bitch," He said placing the bag on the counter.

"Yes, Jake, anything, please."

"Then swallow the fucking pills," he said coldly.

Jake noticed and moved into a different position, placing you in a chokehold. He closed your nose. "You can breath after you swallow," he said. You fought the urge to swallow for as long as you could before taking down the big gulp of semi-dissolved tablets.

"Good girl," he sneered as you bawled. "Now we gonna take a little walk," he said before grabbing the gun and your body. To avoid cameras, Jake took the emergency stairwell. By the time you reached the bottom, you were starting to feel the effects of the pills.

"Not yet, honey. We're almost there," he said shaking the sleep from your body. You felt like you were slipping away as you struggled to walk beside Jake. After a few minutes Jake came to the resort's owned lake. It was very cold that night and you were just wearing a satin nightgown so every breeze felt like blades against your skin.

He walked you to the edge of the lake before nudging you to walk in. With the last bit of resistance you had, you stiffened your body.

“Don’t fight it. You can either go in on your own or I can force you in,” he said turning you to face him. You wouldn’t budge so he grabbed your arm and began dragging you in. You fought to free yourself from his grasp, but it was useless as you were much weaker than usual due to the drugs coursing through your veins.

Jake watched and waited until the last bubble surfaced before he went back to the hotel room and conjured up his story.

As I’m sure you could assume, Jake began to grow closer to the flower girl who ironically had a similar experience. Her boyfriend in high school killed himself because of bullying at school and a messed up family.

the principal probably called him to his office one day to compliment his determination in getting good grades. has a cartoon lunchbox and was made fun for it until anime started to get more popular. wears his glasses all the time and they always get so dirty that he has a handkerchief in his pocket to clean them with. stays at the library a lot and the old woman at the desk loves him because he always puts the books back on their shelves silently. probably bumps a lot into other people and has to constantly pick up his papers from the floor because he often forgets his binder or notebooks at home. rumor was that the cheerleading captain used to have a crush on him.

he’s the guy everyone has a love-hate relationship with. probably the one to start random food fights every three months or so. people call him weird because he used to have an emo phase during his second year of highschool. someone made a shrine for him in one of the empty lockers because he showed up one day with a black hairband and longer hair after a holiday. he’s the kid who jokes around in hope to get attention because he feels misunderstood and unloved by his entourage. he played the electric guitar in his free time until yeonjun found out and invited him to join his band. now, he seems much happier than before with his new close friend group and he gets less in trouble.

he arrives super late at school every day but manages to arrive on time in class because he skates through the hallways, which he gets scolded occasionally for. usually in the middle row because he has bad eyesight but doesn’t want to get caught sleeping. he does actually care for his grades but spends a lot of time exploring the city at night so he’s always tired and thus, even more quiet. came back after summer break with freshly dyed hair and was ranked second on the “pretty boys” list. more appreciated than he thinks he is and was surprised when people defended him after he got falsely accused of cheating on an exam. a meme of his shocked face went around school when the physics teacher put a table on fire.

he’s just never alone, always accompanied by one of his friends. people envy his friendship because his friends wait for him after class and offer him their lunch desserts. makes a lot of bad jokes and is just generally awkward but he’s just so loveable that it’s cute. was probably the new student but was immediately “adopted” by the popular (nice) guys at school. throws little notes around class and gets caught at least three times a week but the notes are all little doodles, dad jokes or “which page are we on???”, so the teachers let him get away with it. people started coming earlier to school just because he hosted the morning announcements for a few months.
