Vessnar has been patron of the Moon, loyal and clingy to Prince, not exactly someone very powerful comparing to other, more major, deities. So whenever the shit with Caldmen-4 happened, she could only watch Earth getting absolutely demolished, and then she ran from her domain to Venus' planet. And the real Moon has been destroyed as collatoral damage along with Earth shortly after. Some time she spent among Thraits, before C-4 came to ruin this place as well, and this is where she got brought to bay.

And during events of the game she is still around i na way, maintaining fake Moon in the sky, which i personally believe to be sort of tracking device of the Family. Vessnar is hollowed out and doesn't have a lot of free will, being practically just an empty husk of past herself, waiting for anyone to just kill her for good already.

In a few places of Psychopomp GOLD, C'venash's helmet has straps that have symbols written on them. Do they mean anything?

This is a bit unclear in most art of her, but they actually aren't straps, they are prayer flags! Prayer flags taken from an assortment of world religions and other beliefs.

The idea was that the Psychopomp helmet is a massive mixture of things, technology and religion being thrown haphazardly together by our protagonist into a pile to create an object with "power".

A satellite dish is powerful, that's gotta be helpful. Throw some protective charms on there, that will make it extra viable. Douse it in holy water, that will make it function.
