Is this a fucking joke?!
ALICENT has never sacrificed anything?!
Alicent has sacrificed EVERYTHING
She sacrificed her choices and happiness for Otto by marrying the King. She sacrificed her friendship with Rhaenyra. She sacrificed her bodily autonomy to give the king a male heir. She sacrificed her own safety for the safety of her children. She was prepared to die by dragonfire for Aegon, sacrificing her own life for his
But no. She has never sacrificed anything. Everything has been handed to her on a silver platter according to these writers
Meanwhile wtf has Rhaenyra sacrificed? A random knight so she could marry Daemon? A ton of innocent people for more dragons? Those aren’t personal sacrifices the way Alicent’s are. She’s sacrificing other people for herself
Not the same at all
And everything she has, she has been handed on a silver platter. Daddy named her heir, despite her treason in passing off bastards as heirs to Driftmark. She fucked off to Dragonstone and still was heir. She got the Riverlands because of Daemon, not anything she did. She got the dragons through evil means. Alicent offers her everything she wants
It it’s Alicent who has never sacrificed anything?
And now she’s being forced by the writers to sacrifice her son; the person she did all this to protect. Now she’s choosing Rhaenyra because this is redemption to the writers instead of the character assassination that it is
At least Olivia tries to save what she can by making Alicent have a panic attack
The only thing that’s keeping me from stopping watching the show is Daeron. The more they talk about him during the episodes, the more they mention his name, the way they said that he's kind and loyal, that he has a dragon and that he's ready to fight, are the only things that i care about.
This new season, for me,is slow and boring asf,i've lost the count of how many times i check how long the episodes are going to last because i can't take it anymore.Thankfully there are only two more to come out and then it's over.
writers do better.
being a daeron girlie is so rewarding these days...thank u for the little nibbles of information about my sweet boy....
i’m not scared to admit i’m extremely attracted to gwayne hightower
its been said but grrm timelines are wild as hell. The Starks have had an 8,000 year unbroken reign? For 8,000 years. 8,000. Old Valyria rose, made dragons, terrorized the world for thousands of years, and exploded in apocalyptic fashion, but before during and after all that the one constant in the universe was the stalwart guardian of the horrors: a guy named Brandon frowning dourly at his notepad as he counts grain being put away for winter
I feel like people don't get that these characters are complex and can do wrong. Like Rhaenyra having 3 bastards not the right move girly, or Aemond killing Luc, or Daemon always reaching for the crown, or Aegon being a drunk. Like they are more than those things.
A character can do good while still being evil, or do evil things while still being good. Like Luc took Aemonds eye and never got any consequences, doesn't mean Luc is a horrible person. Or how Alicent helped steel Rhaenyras throne, doesn't mean she's a bad person or doesn't deserve sympathy.
These characters are complex, cause they're people, I'm not a perfect person nor would I ever claim to be. People need to get that before trying to hide their favorite characters flaws in a dark closet.
alicent realizing that viserys deathbed confession to make aegon king was a giant misunderstanding and now there's nothing she can do about it because her sons are out for blood and she has no power over them anymore. she's now doomed to be haunted by her own pre war decisions for the rest of her life
biblically accurate: battle of the kingsroad
the amount of gwayne fans who dislike criston is killing me…. 😡😡😡
like wdym u dont ship them?? wdym u dont want them to be in a buddy-cop comedy au roadtrip where they fall in love??? 🤯🤯
wdym u don’t see the angst of a dornish-blooded man honour-bond to duty falling to a man who is conflicted due to their gender, criston’s race.. and cristons vows of celibacy?????
its so iconic and its a shame ppl dont see the vision 😭😭
I suppose now the Greens' only dragon is Vaghar, and always has been. And his rider conveniently sabotages his own family from within.
Sunfyre: basically inexistent until it was time to put it down and be left *long in the dying"
Dreamfyre: does this dragon even exist in hotd?
Tessarion: conveniently made too small to be of any use when it's not supposed to be like that, and cherry on top, make his rider look like a Hightower, because that totally Alicent an hypocrite for whining about the Velaryon boys (who let's repeat, look like NEITHER of their parents or supposed relatives).
Meanwhile: give Rhaena an extra dragon, by omitting a character that serves to question whether Targaryens are really that special to be the ones who can claim exclusivity to the dragons.
i think the daeron talk between alicent and gwayne is my biggest win this episode
