Yup, or you could just look at the other side of the miror, where the coating is, and see that it's green
One thing I hold dear to my heart is the idea that by the time He Xuan comes on the scene, Hua Cheng is already several hundred years old and Xianle is long since fallen—but he still speaks with a “Xianle accent.” It’s not hard to understand—if anything it just sounds a bit archaic or overly formal—and there’s only a few things he says that would make He Xuan (and Yin Yu) pause and ask him to repeat what he said slowly please, but sometimes he’ll use a phrase that’s not in the regular lexicon anymore and only Xie Lian will light up and immediately get it.
(alternatively, Xie Lian’s accent is all but gone, Feng Xin’s is faint, and Mu Qing swears his is gone but it’s the “thickest” of the three—it’s bc when he’s alone, he still hums and sings the songs his mother would sing him and unconsciously retains it.)

erha is NOT svsss from binghe's pov. erha is what PIDW would be if binghe decided to fuck sj instead of torturing him
Xie Lian who for 800 years, buys a white flower on the anniversary of Wuming’s “death” to honor his lost ghost’s sacrifice. When he gets free of the coffin he buys an entire bouquet to make up for missing so many years. He barely remembers his own birthday after all this time, but this one action of remembrance is so ingrained in him he’ll never forget it.
Formally meeting the in-laws, (part 1?)
How i see Wei wuxian leading the band of disciples through out the book:
so the biting scene was kinda wtf ridiculous to me at first but then i let it spin like a rotisserie chicken in my mind for a bit and like.
lan zhan is exceptionally powerful and hardworking and highly observant and has spent his whole life crafting himself into the perfect member of his clan, which means among other things suppressing all his emotions, and he really struggles with verbal communication and just people in general. and then in the span of like a week or two, he is powerless to stop his home from being burned down, is physically injured, then forced to leave his father on his deathbed to go be used as a human shield by the evil fucks who caused all this, while his brother is gone and may or may not be in danger himself. and then on top of all that, he is stuck in a cave without his weapons with a monster and his crush (not his crush bc he can’t have those types of feelings), who also happens to be the most annoying person in the universe who has been openly and inappropriately flirting with various women AND himself and then saving the women AND himself and just keeps being a yappy little shit and grabs his very personal sacred headband and won’t fucking shut the fuck up and is half naked on top of all that, and lan zhan isn’t able to communicate his feelings in the best of times and is currently too weak to even punch him in his obnoxious pretty face so of course he’s just gonna bites you bites you bites you bites you bites you bites you bites you bites you
i get it, babe. you’re so valid.
post-canon fics where hua cheng gets amnesia'd back into wuming, who inevitably finds out His Beloved Is Married always read like the meme "I'll be his second husband." (what happened to the first?) "Nothing you can prove."
jump to xie lian, who knows exactly what mental contortions the love of his life would go to rather than recognize that xie lian loves him, deciding to humor wuming's murder fantasy for shits and giggles. 'you want to murder my husband, wuming? hm, i dont know... he is nice. except for the time he proposed to me and then immediately walked it back as a joke- oh, you'd treat me better than that? you'd never do something so cruel? well... im listening.'
cue hua cheng getting his memories back like "gege i thought we were over this. gege. gege stop laughing. gege please. i said sorry!"
Just had a horrible, terrible thought. Have you ever tried taking a child from their mother, like to hold them or whatnot? after a certain age kids understand that taking them from their mom isn't gonna be permanent and you're not gonna kill them, but before that they cry and cling. And so it occurred to me that lwj may once had been at such age, small enough to think that being taken from his mom is the end of the world and had at least once reacted accordingly.
Think about that. Actually envision that moment happening with a tiny baby a-zhan clinging with his life to his mom when they're trying to take him away.
Now your day is as ruined as mine.
