I am Musab Ahmed. I once had a home, I once had a life… but now, everything I knew is nothing but rubble. My house was completely destroyed by the relentless bombing that took away even our memories.

My body did not escape this war—I was injured in my shoulder, underwent surgery, but I still need another operation to regain my full mobility. Yet, the greatest pain is not mine… it’s the pain of my daughter Lama, whose little hand could not withstand the bombing. She was injured and had to have a metal plate implanted in her hand, and we are still struggling to get her the treatment she needs.

All we ask for is a chance to live… A life that was stolen from us under the bombs and destruction. We need your support to continue our treatment and to try and rebuild what’s left of us.

Now, I don't usually post serious stuff on here (and I will probably return to your regularly scheduled silliness right after posting this), but I heard what's going on in America right now on the radio and felt like I had to post something about it. I'm not trans, nor is anyone I know (to my knowledge), and I am not American, but as a member of the human race and future medical professional, I find it absolutely horrible that people who just want to be who they want to be are having the right to the medical care they seek in order to feel comfortable in their own skin taken from them. Trans friends in America, please, for the love of all the universe, stay strong. I have no power over you or anything that happens in your country, but please know that I support you and believe that you should have as much right to transition as I do to become a paramedic one day. And hey, if it makes you feel any better...
