*ppl thinking of Wicked when they see pink & green*
Meanwhile Yellowjackets fans:
that ship is toxic to YOU. to me it's a complex, multi-layered, essay-worthy dynamic that'd take numerous hours to dissect (during which i'll spend crying screaming tearing my hair out)
Dear video essay creators. A video analysis is when you analyze a piece of media. No no look at me. A summary, no matter how thorough, is not an analysis. An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. You have to stop summarizing something and saying that’s analysis. The Gaylors are doing more critical analysis than you. Is that who you want to lose to? The gaylors?
just having the stark realization that the failed act of rebellion was 24 years before katniss volunteered. that begs the question of whether or not there were more attempts. did johanna suffer the same fate as haymitch? did the capitol lie and say she was hidden the entirety of her games because she was given a similar (failed) assignment from beetee? did they have to erase countless hours of footage? edit things to make it seem like she was never where she actually was, simply hidden away from the chaos? how many mockingjay figures did they cycle through before landing on katniss? how many did they cycle through before the revolution actually began?
does anyone think about sibling relationships in media.
BRIGETTE LUNDY-PAINE as MADDY I SAW THE TV GLOW (2024) dir. Jane Schoenbrun
i love in horror media when ur first introduced to a character and they are all fresh and clean. and then cut to further on in the story and they are covered in dirt and blood and they have that gorgeous traumatized look in their eyes. yayyy
gee I sure hope nothing bad happens to her
i want to love a boy
the way i love the ocean .
just watched i saw the tv glow and one thing i haven't seen anyone bring up yet is that in the final seconds of the movie, right when it cuts to the credits screen, you hear the sound of rain. which is what maddy says it was like when they woke up in the pink opaque as tara. implying that owen/isabel, too, is on the precipice of making it out. is this perhaps a more optimistic interpretation of the ending than intended? probably, but i feel like it's worth mentioning
