Wisptober Day 17: Waltz
"Above the streets and roofs where they had once lived, the two spirits laughed and waltzed among the fallen leaves"
A simpler one today since it was pretty busy! :)
We love staring off the year with The Devil card and an overarching theme of self-destruction ✌️✌️
PLEASE where’s the photo of George beating tf outta malfoy on the quidditch pitch, I know I didn’t make that shit up- I CANT FIND IT
Get a copy of the map of your area. Not a country map, a state map, or even a county map. Your area. You can print off a Google map if a commercial version isn't available.
Take the map with you everywhere you go. Make notes on it of things you notice - does one area feel different to you? Does a tree live among many dead ones? Do you see the same cat sitting on the same fence post at the same time every morning? Where do bees live? What crossroads catch your eye? Is there a cemetary?
Once you've filled the map with your observations, keep it in your grimoire for reference.

If you worship deities: bless little things that you do for them. (Ex. lighting candles)
If you have plants: use divination to ask them what they need (Ex. use a pendulum to ask it if it needs more water)

So much deity work seems to be focused on having “conversations” with deities/spirits/entities. Some examples could be : astral projecting to meet gods, a demon threatening to possess you in a dream, hearing voices during meditations, etc. Now I’m not saying those accounts are all false, but it’s turning spirituality and witchcraft into something it is not. It is highly unlikely you’ll have vivid dreams and encounters where an ancient god is going to tell you to buy a resin statue and break up with your partner. Further you aren’t a bad witch if you never have crazy unexplainable encounters with the supernatural world. Waiting for signs and directions from ghosts will lead to disappointment or even deterioration in mental health. If you’re just beginning to work with spirits take a deep breath, light a candle and give thanks. Witchcraft is highly individualized and deeply spiritual, but it’s also heavily rooted in the world we can see. Exaggerating deity work and witchcraft in general is counterproductive and harmful.
