I’ve been teaching myself how to properly 3D model this week with meshes (the 3D stuff I usually make is just made up of many separate ‘brush strokes’) and here’s the progress so far! all of this was created in VR with Gravity Sketch
I hope to get her animated and then in a Halloween Candy shop by the end of the month 🍭🎃
Sometimes you need to read something twice to get it. You might need to watch a movie three times to understand it. You might have to have that album on repeat for a week until the lyrics make any sense. You're allowed to engage with it and can keep engaging with it until it means something to you. People will see a painting at a museum and laugh about not getting what the big deal is but like you can come back, you can see it at another time, and maybe that next time it'll be different for you. I'm of the belief the "media literacy crisis" would solve itself if more people just sat down and did it again. Watched, read, played, listened, etc like I don't think people are getting more ignorant necessarily I just think we're not glorifying personally replaying things nearly as much as we should be.
Ok now do NYT columnists
We talk a lot about autistic food avoidance like autistic people who are super picky eaters and need bland or uniformly textured food, but it can work in the other direction too. Some of us are sensory seeking when it comes to taste, and will eat plain raw onion, entire lemons (peel and all), drink hot sauce or eat entire packets of breath mints for lunch when left to our own devices. And it’s possible to be both too! I have some foods that are sensory nightmares for me, but many of the foods I do eat are extremely strong tasting (raw onion with horseradish my beloved). People often aren’t just sensory seeking or just sensory avoidant! Fuck diet culture, fuck anti autistic ableism, and let us eat a jar of pickled lemons!
the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.
the thing about queer tv is that every time someone says "why isn't there a queer show where XYZ happens" the reality is that 1) there is actually a queer show where XYZ happens, and 2) that show is almost always either a thai drama or black sails
i hope fat men who don’t exercise or who exercise very little or who exercise obsessively all have a good day and don’t feel ashamed of themselves and remember that exercise is supposed to be an act of self-care not an effort to reshape your body for other people’s satisfaction and your body needs rest just as much as it needs exercise and even if you know your body needs more exercise than it’s currently getting that is not a fault or a failure and you do not need to feel ashamed or guilty and you deserve a form of exercise that you actually enjoy. you don’t have to punish yourself for existing in your own body or for failing to perform “health” for other people
i will never fucking forgive the community on this site for the years of “ace discourse”. we were being actively hated for our orientations and everyone just treated it like a fucking debate topic or fucking mocked us for being effected by it. it became such a widespread thing to laugh at that even people who were otherwise okay with us were reblogging aphobic memes and getting mad that we “couldn’t take a joke” when we were upset by it.
and today, people who got swept up in aphobic movements look back at that time like “haha, i was such a cringe teen for participating in ace discourse” rather than “i was shitty and bigotted and i sincerely regret it”; a lot of them probably still ARE aphobic but just don’t talk about it anymore because it’s no longer trendy.
