James: You may be wondering why I'm taped to the ceiling.

i don’t think sirius was LOUD necessarily. i think most people knew of him and, as always, assumed that was enough to made them feel like they knew him, but since he started proving them all wrong from his first night at hogwarts, people started to really notice him more. he wasn’t loud, it was his presence that commanded attention and rooms grew quieter once he entered them. and he certainly took advantage of it from time to time. my boy james though? he was so loud i’m afraid euphemia was able to hear him all the way from scotland.

sirius: i kissed her.

james: what?

remus: when?

peter: who?

sirius: about a month ago.

james: how am i just finding out?

remus: did she… kissed you back?

peter: who are we talking about?

remus: marlene.

sirius: yes. no. i don’t know, what does it matter?

sirius: yes, peter, how many marlene’s have you met? and no, i’m not joking. i mean, i understand how fundamental it is to know if a girl kiss you back or not, but we didn’t have time. i had to leave.

remus: you kissed her and then ran? and you wonder why she isn’t crawling back for more like the rest of them?

sirius: we were in the middle of “the plan”! james was there, he was calling me, that’s why i left.

james: how could i’ve been there when i just found out you kissed marlene?

sirius: you came after it happened.

james: so i interrupted you?

sirius: no. yes. what does it matter? i kissed her and then left. it was a busy day.

remus: you left her cause you had to pulled a stupid prank?

peter: what is the point though?

remus: the point is that sirius is a complete idiot. it amazes me how you managed to fool every girl in the castle into wanting to go out with you.

sirius: thanks for that.

james: so what happened afterwards? when you saw her again, i mean.

sirius: nothing.

remus: you haven’t talked to her since?

sirius: we’ve talked, just… not about that. it all has been normal, as if nothing happened.

james: are you sure you kissed and you didn’t… imagine it?

peter: oh, i’ve been there.

sirius: unlike you, peter, i don’t need to fantasize to get a girl to kiss me.

remus: don’t take it out on peter. it isn’t his fault you kissed her and then ran away.

sirius: i didn’t ran away.

james: this is getting nowhere. what are you gonna do now?

sirius: that’s what i’m asking you lot.

bellatrix's shadow follows andromeda long after her sister goes to azkaban. follows her when people on the streets in diagon shrink back because they know her face even though it's not hers it's not hers it's not hers. andromeda wears bella's face and carries bella's sins even if her eyes are brown and soft and warm and nothing like her sister's cold grey stare. it doesn't matter because these people on the streets, they know her face. they flinch because they know her face. saw it twisted in cruel rage when her sister's wand tip lit red and green and screamed vengeance. they know her face, and her eyes cannot save her from the weight of lives taken.

and even now bellatrix's shadow follows her onto the battlefield when her daughter hesitates. pauses when she sees, briefly... wild hair and pale skin and she doesn't realize doesn't see those cold grey eyes—her mother from afar. "mum?"—she doesn’t dodge the killing curse til it's too late.

bellatrix's shadow follows andromeda at the funeral where she sits alone no husband no daughter and still misses her big sister. still misses when bella would braid her hair and laugh and say meda, you look just like a princess! those times are gone and now andromeda's daughter is lowered into the earth not even thirty and already dead and her baby sits on her lap and coos. he has grey eyes.

james getting closer to marlene through quidditch, starting to think of her as a little sister, obviously thinking sirius feels the same way 'cause they share the same brain cells and then BOOM! sirius kissing her???!! what do you mean you like her??? SHE'S LIKE A SISTER TO US???

okay, so due to an unexpected visitor coming my way this evening i won't be able to update anything until sunday afternoon.

so on sunday i will be dropping the two last chapters of "like a bludger to the heart" and adding the final chapter to the spanish version.

hopefully i will be updating "a través de los años" with the two remaining chapters of second year on monday.

as for "strangers" and "marauders", i will start working on it at some point after that. ideas are in my head already, i just need to find the time to sit down and write them down.
