she had decided to work on the new choreography emmeline had taught the girls that week, so she’d told sirius he was free to do whatever he wanted for the night.
when she finally stopped, frustrated in the middle of the song, she was startled to see him leaning against the frame of the door, watching her.
—you can fit three in there.
the song was still going on in the background.
—the beat is for two.
thankfully she could blame physical exertion for being so out of breath.
—just try it.
—and why should i listen to you?
it was one thing for him to show up out the blue, but now he had opinions on her dancing skills too.
—because my family has been at this for long before you tried on your first tutu and i might actually know what i’m talking about?
—wait, is it me or did it sound it like you almost said something nice about your family?
—see, that’s a common misconception. yes, my family tree it’s full of talented people: dancers, choreographers, orchestras conductors, creative directors and what not, but that doesn’t make them less shitty people.
—right, right, where as you only landed the shitty part, got it.
—joke all you want but this isn’t about me. now try it out how i told you to.
she gave him a quizzical look and too tired to protest, she decided to try again, following his suggestion.
she had got so caught up in the music, she didn’t realize sirius had left his place by the door and had been following each of her movements, circling around her.
he was standing in front of of her when she finished.
—see? that’s gives you more of an edge. stop trying with the soft and fluffy choreographies, it’s not you.
sirius was so close now, right in front of her, that she had needed to tilt her head to catch his eyes. there’s was something different about him that night and she couldn’t quite point out what.
—so aside from being a ballet critic, you also think you know me now?
sirius licked his lips, a small smirk on them.
—i have been dancing with you for the most part of the last six weeks. you’ll be severely injured by now if i didn’t.
marlene let out a shaky breath. sirius was much too close.
—not to count we’ve been classmates for years, mckinnon
and at that, marlene dropped her shoulders and shook her head.
—thanks for the tip, but i’m tired now. the space is free for the next hour if you want to use it.
hurriedly, she went for her bag and left him alone.

‘Come on, Ginny’s not bad,’ said George fairly, sitting down next to Fred. ‘Actually, I dunno how she got so good, seeing how we never let her play with us.’ ‘She’s been breaking into your broom shed in the garden since the age of six and taking each of your brooms out in turn when you weren’t looking,’ said Hermione from behind her tottering pile of Ancient Rune books. 'Oh,’ said George, looking mildly impressed. 'Well, that’d explain it.'

Remus: I understand when people called James arrogant. It wasn’t really his fault being conceited. Only child, loving parents, a comfortable economic situation, who wouldn’t come out into the world thinking they deserve everything good in life? But as egotistical as he could be, he was also caring and kind-hearted. Yes, I’m aware of how he and Sirius treated other people, especially when they were younger, but it’s not like they were mistreating someone vulnerable, they were messing with a bunch of other self-important, full of themselves, snooty kids. And they did change their ways in the end. Well, somewhat. You couldn’t be expected to make it into the music industry, especially during the seventies, and not be a little ruthless. So yeah, James approached my concerns tactfully. He didn't want me to feel different, though we were, and by the end I didn’t even realize I was accepting his help. When we finally ended playing at their dance, I was wearing one of James’ old suits. James: From that moment on, we became insufferable. In mine and Sirius' case, even more so than usual. But seeing Remus and Peter starting to believe in the band too, was amazing. We couldn’t shut up about it. Every weekend from then on we fought over who’s idea to give a try first, we were all so inspired. At some point Hope lent us her record player. We took turns picking songs from Sirius’ collection and then tried them out on our instruments. Remus: We started changing the lyrics to the covers we played, then slowly one of us would change a chord or a beat, and then suddenly we were writing our first songs, not just obscene tunes anymore (stops, then laughs). A few of our songs turned out to be quite obscene, but you know what I meant, we didn’t feel like kids doing it anymore.

lily evans (photographer, james potter’s girlfriend): if it weren’t for marlene i wouldn’t be here, to be honest. she introduced me to them. she was the reason i trusted them. god, the sacrifices she made… for them breaking up was the only thing that made sense at the time, the least they could’ve done.
okay, hear me out…
a story written in interview format where famous rock band ‘marauders’ explain once and for all why they broke up back in 1981 following the dead of, according to the media at the time, a random groupie.
james, remus and peter have all lost contact with lead singer sirius black.
where is he now?
is he still alive?
and who was the groupie and why did it matter so much as to mark the end of such a promising band?
marlene mckinnon’s name will haunt the narrative much as she did when she was alive.
(i blame daisy jones and the six for this and damiano david cover of ‘ella baila sola’ cause don’t tell that isn’t sirius singing about marlene)
Idk why people get weird when I mention that I think that Sirius is also attracted to women😭 Like are we talking about the same guy?😭 Bro had bikini posters of women in his room???😭 Nothing wrong with you thinking he's gay, but it can't be that surprising for some people to think he likes women?????😭
considering his future
how i think sirius understood he had feelings for marlene- i'm so canon u can't prove me wrong.
sirius was glad that the only person in the room was james. it was easier for him to let go of the breath he was holding in and slack his shoulders.
james, of course, knew right away that something was wrong.
"what's gotten into you? why are you wet?"
he was indeed soaking wet from the rain.
james was sat near the window, he was looking outside while playing with the stupid snitch of his.
"the rain got to me," sirius responded, closing their distance and throwing himself into the chair nearest to james. he let out a well held grown. "what are you doing?"
"i was waiting for you, mate? you're late. we made plans-" "oh, shit-"
"yeah, no shit you forgot-" james rolled his eyes. "i told remus and peter to go on. tell me what's up. there is no way you would forget a day out."
"i-" sirius looked around the room, "i fucked up."
"when don't you?" james snorted.
sirius kicked his chair, "prongs, man."
james snorted, after he regained his chair's balance, "so?"
"i was with mckinnon," sirius leaned on his knees, "i was helping her train. you really did a number on her the previous match."
"she knows me, i get heated up when shit gets fucked," james shrugged.
"i know. she said the same thing," sirius laughed, "and as mckinnon-"
"she wanted to prove me wrong?"
"yeah," sirius nodded, "so, i helped. it started to rain, she wanted to keep going. i had completely lost track of time- my bad, again, let me finish- and she reached a record- she got happy- smiling, laughing, she jumped on me before we could even land properly- and- and fuck- i don't know- i bloody tried to kiss her!"
"you what?!" james jumped from the chair.
"i did," sirius pinched his nose, "i just- she jumped, i caught her, and we were close and i just leaned in, and- and she leaned in- i think-"
"you think?! how does one think that?! weren't you there?!"
"i don't know! it felt like i wasn't- and-!"
"the last time i have seen you this worked up was when you lost your motorcycle magazine, mate-!"
"shut up-!"
"well, what happened?!"
"nothing! we just got up immediately as soon as i drew back and we said very awkward goodbyes-"
"the last time i saw you being awkward-"
"james, shut up!" sirius groaned "- and it hit me, james... when i was coming here- i think i like her. a lot."
“i got a lot of right in me but i don’t wanna say this wrong”
is forever stuck in my brain same as
“my tears are streaming like our favorite show”
omg unlocked memory turn hd canon now but marlene trying to play it down, selling really hard the fact that they’re “mates”, it’s cool and sirius thinking du fuck? but also, right, no big deal while simultaneously freaking out in the inside because what does it mean?? cut to the moment they start going out and marlene having the audacity to be surprise they ended up together meanwhile sirius was tryin to be so smooth about the whole situation as not to spook her. marlene was three month in when she realized the whole castle knew they were a thing and somehow she was the last to notice. (ofc everyone knew, they were always touching each other tenderly/or aggressively depending on the mood).
Sirius and Marlene's first time having sex would make them stay in bed for a full 30 minutes, out of breath, glaring at the ceiling, bc neither of them could process that it actually happened.
mary mcdonald (supermodel): if we’re talking about superficial shit then no. she didn’t need any of it. not the diet pills not the drugs. but they were all the same. god, if you’d seen how she and sirius looked together you wouldn’t have been able to take your eyes off of them. they were mesmerizing. together they could’ve ruled the whole world. but she didn’t want any of that. they keep they relationship private. they got help from all us. we were in it together. i wasn’t friends with any of them, not really, but we all tried our best to protect them. you can believe whatever you want, but if there ever were two people deserving of protection from this world, it was them.
