Steve had been working himself to the bone all week and not getting enough food, sleep, or cuddles from his two favourite people in the world. He’d basically been living in his office and Bucky was worried for him.

It had been another day of nonstop scanning through files for Steve when Bucky had entered the office. “Hey I’m going out to get groceries, do you think you have time to give Y/n a bath while I’m gone? She’s playing in the yard and has mud all over her.” he had asked while waiting for the blonde to finally look away from his desk. “Huh? Oh yeah sure of course” he responded, giving the brunette a weak smile. “Thanks babe.” Bucky nodded before closing the door and heading out to the store.

Steve had been so absorbed in his work that he didn’t realize half an hour had gone by since Bucky left the room and decided it was a good time to take a break. He walked into the yard to find you playing with patch of flowers, ignoring that you were sitting right over dry mud and smiled to himself before scooping you up onto his hip. “Alright messy girl time for a bath” he told you as he brought you into the bathroom.
