Chapter Three

Moon Helios

Y/n stood with her arms crossed and Isla leaning into her shoulder. Niko stood a bit away with some of his friends. Ever since the burning, Niko had left the pair alone for the most part. As Aratha, another Helios master began to instruct them but Y/n payed no mind.

There was a strange humming in her ears. A soft ringing. Y/n moved her head around hoping the sound would be pounder in another direction.

“Starkov, you’re up!” Aratha called. Y/n’s head shot up in confusion. Niko’s vibrations grew closer and Y/n grippedd into Isla.

“Go, I’ll watch her.” Niko mumbled while holding his arms for Isla. Y/n glares up at him for a moment then sighs. She undos there ribbon and gently guide Isla to Niko. Y/n reached up and grasped the collar of his shirt.

“Hurt her and I’ll break-“

“Break my jaw? We’ve done this dance before. Go.”

Y/n signed and squeezed Isla’s hand once more. Then she walked over to Aratha, her body felt strange. Like there was something prickling at the surface.

“ӄɛɮɮɛռ ready!” Aratha yelled. Her opponent, Hrvatin a friend of Niko’s nodded. Y/n nodded slowly still unsure of what was happening.

I really need to pay attention more.

“Fight!” Aratha’s voice echoed through the arena. Hrvatin charged at Y/n and she quickly ducked. Hrvatin threw punch after punch and Y/n would sway out of the way.

“What are we meant to be doing!” Y/n yelled as she tumbled away. The other trainees watched anf cheered them on. Hrvatin was being sloppy, his attacks weren’t defined or had any really action behind them.

Niko and Isla face palmed at her inability to pay attention. Isla would feel Y/n’s vibrations everywhere as she moved around.

“PUSH HIM OUT OF THE ARENA!” Niko managed to yell over the crowds. His friends froze when they realized that Niko had helped Y/n. They all shared a look and looked in Niko’s direction.

Other Helios masters began to watched from a balcony above. Egon watched with fondness in his eyes. While Hrvatin’s movements were messy, unfocused and slow Y/n remained opposite. Y/n was fluid and sensitive towards his vibrations.

Kanos glared down at Y/n as she continued. Y/n landed a hard blow on Hrvatin’s stomach. Hrvatin lurched backward and almost out of the arena. Kanos let out an annoyed groan and moved over to Egon.

“Fancy a wager Egon?” Kanos questioned and jabbed Egon’s side. Egon shot Kanos a glance and sighed.

“If Y/n can bet three other trainees, I’ll give you the shadow armor.” Kanos offered. All the master stifled at the mention of the armor. Egon froze as he watched Y/n. The cheering had grown.

For years Egon had attempted to get the shadow armor from Kanos. No matter what he’d offer it was always no. The shadow armor was legend made real.

Instead of the normal golden armor Helios’s wore the shadow armor was pure black with its welded steel parts being silver. The shadow armor allowed different abilities than the normal armor.

Y/n was doing well, well enough that she could win. Egon turned to Kanos with a smile.

“And if Y/n cannot?” Egon asked. Kanos rolled his eyes in hopes Egon wouldn’t realize he hadn’t asked for anything.

“I want the holy cuff.” Kanos said. Egon’s eyes flared and then there was a thud. The masters looked over at Y/n stood victorious. She panted and left the arena. Egon watched as she walked over to Isla and Niko.

She tied the blue ribbon and grabbed Isla away from Niko. Niko remained at the girls side instead of leaving. Egon smirked, he could see the small bond forming between the group. Even if Y/n was still hostile.

“Very well, pick her opponents.” Egon said as he turned to Kanos. A few matches went by and another master spoke up.

“May I suggest you use Kheli, he’s rather strong.” Grhitha spoke up from where she stood. The other shot her confused looks.

“What is it you think you’ll get out of throwing your child in the mix?” Kanos asked softly. Grhitha shrugged and went to the balcony.

“I want to see how well he fairs against the legendary Y/n Starkov.” She muttered. It was no secret that Egon dotted on Y/n. After all she was his linholmerre. His child. Along with Isla. Y/n and Isla were trained by Egon himself at times.

Egon was the Lord of Helios after all. His linholmerre needed to be the best. Kanos had once been considered for Lord of Helios. Egon and Kanos had trained under the old lord of Helios.

Kanos wanted the holy cuff. It could mean worn under there armor and it would merge into it. The cuff gave access the different kinds of weapons and an advantage over the enemy.

“Kheli Vemra, Zan Ostrowski, and Adam Peev please enter the arena!” Kanos yelled from above.

Y/n furrowed her brows and looked up at Niko. Zan and Adam were his friends. Kheli was a Suli boy, strong build and tall for his  age. Kheli was still a bit faithful to the Saints instead of just the Sol Saint.

Isla nudged Y/n’s side and pointed her hands upwards. Both Niko and Y/n looked to the direction of the balcony. Y/n’s sight kicked in and through her mind she watched Egon.

“Y/n Starkov enter the arena!” Kanos yelled from above. Y/n froze in her spot. She’s already fought, why was she being sent in again. Y/n slowly left there side and entered the arena again.

Kheli helped Y/n step into the arena. His hand gently grasped hers and he left power in his bones. Kheli let go of her hand end stood at one end of the arena. Zan and Adam shared a glance and stood at the other sides.

Y/n remained in the middle of the arena, and she looked up. Egon gave her a small smile and nodded his head. Aratha furrowed her brows up at her fellow Helios but one look from Egon made her sigh.

“ӄɛɮɮɛռ ready!” Aratha yelled. Y/n tried and asks a question but the cheers of the crowd stopped her.

“FIGHT!” With Aratha’s words the three boys charged at Y/n. She screamed in surprise and dropped to the ground. She tumbled away and Zan attempted to hit her.

She blocked his attacks and wrapped her arm around his waist threw him to the ground. Zan ground and Adam pushed Y/n over. She yelped and rolled backwards.

Kheli jumped into the air and prepared a punch. Y/n barely dodged and her and Kheli ended up fighting. As she fought he threw boy the Helios masters watched from above.

Grhitha smiled at Kheli, he was doing well. Even when the fight wasn’t fair Kheli fought honorably. The pair battled each other, ignoring the cheered of the crowds. When Kheli would attack Y/n would counter.

Kheli struggled to hold himself back, anytime his skin would touch Y/n’s he would have a burst of power. Y/n punched his stomach and Kheli lurked backwards. He groaned and soaked his hands together.

Y/n panted and she could feel Zan about to charge at her. A hard fist collided with Y/n’s face and then she felt herself begin thrown in the air. Her body hit the sand of the arena roughly and her body bounced then slammed back down.

Y/n saw stars for a moment and a loud ringing in her ears. Kheli gasped in shock at what he’d down. The world seems to buzz around her and Egon gripped the edge of the balcony.

Looks like Kheli is a squaller

Y/n landed on the ground as her ears rung. Memories flashed through her head as she gasped on the ground.

Alina, Y/n, and Mal all laid in the meadow field as they hid from grisha testers

Blood covered flowers

A white stag standing in a snow covered forest

A pair of piercings eyes so dark they looked black peering down at her

Black armor covering her as a strange light admitted from her hands

Rage bubbled under the surface of Y/n’s skin. Again and again she’d been thrown to the ground. Again, and again had they tried to cause her demise. Time and time again she’d bled for them. She’d bled for her Saint time and time again. Every time she’d see the finish line, Kanos would move it. He would challenge her, force her to the ground. Not this time.

Y/n forced herself off the ground. The smell and taste of iron invaded her senses. Blood dripped down her nose and she stood on shaky legs. Y/n coughed and spit out blood onto the sand of the arena. She whipped the blood from her nose and it splattered on the sand.

Kheli’s jaw dropped as Y/n pulled herself up. For a moment he thought his eyes had returned as his sight kicked in. Y/n stood blood drip from her nose, mouth and ears. Her hair was pulled down and flowed freely.

Zan charged at her and Y/n grabbed his throat before he could get close. His body slammed into the ground and Y/n slammed her fist into Zan’s face over and over.

Adam rushed over and grabbed around her waits and pushed slammed her into the ground. She threw her head up smashing Adam’s nose. Adam grabbed around Y/n’s neck and felt a surge of power. Fire admitted from his free hand and he gasped. As he was distracted Y/n kicked his crotch. He screamed in pain and doubled over.

Y/n stood and kicked him over and over till Zan tackled her. Her body soaked against the ground for what seemed to be the hundredth time. The pair rolled over into the sand  and Zan placed his hand over Y/n’s mouth. She bite down into his flesh and ripped. Zan screamed and jumped off her.

Y/n grabbed Zan by the back of his shirt and kicked him out of the arena. She spit out the chunk of flesh she’d bit off. Zan’s hand shook in pain as he stood from the ground. Adam slowly stood and attempted at attack again but Y/n flipped him onto his back. She kicked him out of the arena.

Y/n turned to Kheli no defeat in sight. Kheli could only stare in awe at the sight before him. She looked like a Saint. There was a shimmer to her skin that glistened with all the blood. Her knuckles were bloody and bruised, from above them the Helios’s froze.

As she walked towards him Kheli would swore he could see her eyes. No the cloudy white but a piercing e/c that shot shivers through him. Y/n placed a hand on his shoulder and lightly pushed him out of the arena.

The cheers stopped for a moment as Y/n panted victorious. Egon sighed in relief as Y/n panted. He would keep the holy cuff and would gain the shadow armor. Kanos sighed in defeat and glared down at both Zan and Adam.

How could they let such a small girl over power them. In his mind he knew how she’d done it. Her rage had fueled her in ever way. Something deep within her had made it so angry. It was as though the Sol Saint had cursed her with such a fire. A fire he’d yet to extinguish.

Y/n grew dizzy, her body began to sway. Isla felt Y/n’s vibrations begin to shift and buzz. Isla moved away from Niko and moved up the the stairs to the arena. Niko raced behind Isla and called out to her. Egon leaned over the railing as she watched Y/n go deathly pale.

Isla dove forward as Y/n collapsed toward the ground, Niko gently grasped onto Y/n as her eyes went into the back of her skull. Egon jumped down from the balcony and quickly ran to the trio. Niko laid Y/n down while Isla shook her gently.

Egon ran to Y/n and picked her up, Grhitha jumped down as well. Her hands clasped together and her movements became fluid. Y/n’s wounds began to heal quickly as Grhitha used her grisha healing abilities on her.

Images flash through Y/n’s head as her body shook. Spit bubbled and poured out of Y/n’s mouth as she ceased. Her body flared around and Egon turned her on her side.

“Calm yourself linholmerre.” Egon whispered as he pet Y/n’s hair. Y/n’s eyes dashed all over the place as a headache manifested. Egon gently laid Y/n back down. He whispered sweet nothings in fjerdan into Y/n’s ear as she fell back asleep.

Her eyes fluttered closed and all she could see was those dark eyes.

Act II : The Fold

Chapter Eight

Moon Helios

It was nightfall, the clouds has blocked the moon from view. The letters lay heavy in her lap. There was only one she truely wanted to open. Her lovely Drazan who had never once swayed from her loyalties. The letter on tea stained paper smelt of pine. Opening the letter it read.

     To my beloved amber,

The days grow shorter every day that I am not in your presence. All is well enough here, worry not. I’ve taken charge of the youngling’s classes as you requested. Niko has been helping me a great deal. He misses you, I think he still blames himself for your leaving. Lord Egon is still devastated and unmoved. He refuses to join in any of the celebrations. I suppose he only ever enjoyed them because you did. He runs council adequately enough.

I fear for him sometimes, the other masters grow more brazen with each passing day. Master Kai has demanded my sister’s hand. Arabella has tried to sway our father but to no real avail. I will soon plead my case to Lord Egon, I know he would act in our favor. Master Kai is relentless in his pursuit of her, my little rose bud. I fear for her sometimes, that I will awake and she will be gone.

I don’t truly know what to do, it would be easier if you were here. You’d fixed this whole thing and probably kill Kai for us. On a happier note Adam has found himself a bride, she’s quite the gem. They are due to be married in the coming year. You would like her, she rather feisty, and always challenging him. She never wins but it gives us all a good laugh.

Kheli is all the same, he still teaches the youngling’s dance class. He was always more particular about dance than our blades. He has yet to ask Adara to dance with him. It’s rather pitiful to watch. She is always staring right at him too. It’s amazing how much a coward some can be. How I can be

Nevertheless almost everything is well. I fear you will be called back soon. I know you’re busy in the ravkan army. Why you decided to join will never be understood by the others. I hope Alina and Mal are well. I’m sure you’re all still catching up a ton. How’s Maja? I’m sure she misses the smoked meats I would bring her. I miss you greatly. I’m sure we will see one another soon.

With all my Love, your Devoted Helios

                                 Drazan Vlaev

Y/n sighed into the air of the night. She too missed Drazan, he was a rare light in her life. The saint herself must’ve sent him to her. She looked about the camp without a care. All these soldiers knew nothing of her faith.

They all looked down at her, like she was less than them for it. A faith they didn’t understand. Cultist they all whispered as she walked. Like she was a mad for believing in a higher power. They had saints, why couldn’t she have just one.

The Sol Saint was one of prophecy, they had to believe in a being that didn’t exist yet. All Helios were bound by blood to this saint. No one would deny her faith. She bled, She killed she loved, and she would betray anyone for her saint. Those were the sacrifices of a Helios.

But deep within her  mind, she pondered . Could she sacrifice Alina? Could she sacrifice Mal? Could she sacrifice all those she cared, dear to her heart? For something she wasn’t even sure it was real. Would she do it? This was the kind of question she should be asking herself. She was a Helios first before anything. Before a sister, before a daughter, before a friend.

She had earned the title that had been bestowed upon her .

The Blood Helios, none who ever encountered her had left with their lives. She bathed in their blood by herself. And then offered it upon the altar of her saint.

She was the Blood Helios, and no one would deny it.

Moon Helios

She stood next to Mal as the Skiff was boarded. Maja sat obediently as her side, her snout raised high in the air. Y/n rolled her soldiers hand off her gun to Mal. She pet the soft curls of Maja’s white fur. With the soft roll of her shoulders the armor poured down her body.

From her neck it came like silver tears, slowly enveloping her body. Mal raised his brow as she took the gun back. He stares in awe along with the others whom had never seen the cultist in her armor. Y/n moved to the front where Natacha stood, the Inferni in charge of this skiff.

“Looking as lovely as always.” Y/n smiled at the dark skinned woman before her.

“You’re not to shabby yourself.” The words were soft. The pair had become akin to friends. They often flirted softly with one another, truly it was all playful banter. Y/n turned her head, Alina was on the skiff. What in the world was she doing her.

Y/n quickly moved over, her small family was arguing quietly. Maja’s eyes followed Alina and Mall tenderly.

“Alina get off this fucking Skiff.” Y/n grabbed into the girls arm. Alina smirked triumphantly and moved past her.

“Tell them you’re too sick to go.” Mal pleaded.

“I’m never that sick.” Alina argued.

“Lie if you have to!” Y/n gripping tightly into Alina.

“And what’s your lie? I’m with you.” Y/n shared a look with Mal. She gently pushed her sister it to his side.

“Mal, fix this.” Y/n then turned around, her blood boiling. She smelt the smirk coming off his sister. How stupid could she been. She could all but feel the vibrations of anger coming off the other cartographers. What has her sister done.

Natacha sent her a small look of concern as Y/n stood back by her side. Y/n’s eyes never left Alina’s. She clicked her tongue, Maja moved to her side. The large wolf sat down and growl at any soldier that got too close to her. Natacha clapped her hands moving forwards, Y/n followed suit.

“Here’s how it goes. We go into the Fold, it gets dark but we like it dark. That keeps us from drawing attention. That’s how we travel. The only light we use is the blue one at the mast.” Y/n kept her eyes on Alina. She looked so defenseless standing alone.

“It’s weak but safe.” Natacha continued.

“But you’re an Inferni, right? So why are you here if we’re supposed to keep things dark?” Raisa asked. Y/n rolled her eyes at the stupid question, cartographers were the smartest.

“For when the dark comes to keep you.” Raisa raised her brow.

“And what’s about the Cultist?” Y/n turned her gaze to the cartographer leader.

“For when we cannot defeat dark with fire, we send in someone who will devour the darkness.” Natacha’s voice carried an emblem of anger. The other soldiers turned to her with fear in their eyes. Y/n saw the small smirk that was sent her way.

Natacha never ceased to amuse her, and to feed into the cultist, rumors that many believed about her.

“Where’s your general? Kirigan?” Mal asked. Y/n blinked a few times at the mention of the Darkling. He could stay in the dark where he bathed. The skiffs sail was released and the  skiff jutted forwards.

“That’s our cue.” Natacha and Y/n moved in sync. Y/n now stood at the front of the skiff and Natacha by the blue light. From above the squaller began to move the skiff towards the fold.

Natacha sent a small nod towards Y/n, with a smile the Helios moved towards her sister’s side. Y/n stood in front of her as the small ribbon holding her hair back came loose. From the front the sergeant began to speak, but these words did not matter in her mind.

Alina was on a skiff, Mal was in this skiff. The two people she never wanted to see the inside of the fold. The heavy winds blew her hair back, the ribbon followed off. Y/n barely turned her head to look at it. Alina’s scarf had too come off.

She watched the two pieces of fabric float through the wind. Her eyes followed them till they passed the dock. On the dock a man stood, shrouded in black. He watched the skiff so intently, Y/n knew he couldn’t she see herself staring back at him.

It didn’t matter, as Alina sough out her armored hand. Y/n clutched it softly as Mal. came to her side.

“I’m pretty sure this the first time I’ve seen you all armored up.” Mal’s words should’ve brought a smile to her face. It didn’t.

“In we go.” Natacha mumbled. Y/n reached to her side, pulling out the small cuff. It was of pure gold and has a sun rested in its middle. She placed it in her forearm. The metal infused with her silver armor, a soft glow embroidered it.

From her hand a crossbow of light emerged, an arrow already knocked in it. The glow died down quickly as she raised the crossbow. She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes. Alina and Mal were now her top priority. All others could be forsaken.

The darkness enveloped her body, it as oddly warm to her. It encased her, welcomed her home as it always did. Opening her eyes she listened to the growling of the Volcra that flew around them. She could feel every vibration they caused. Terror coated Alina’s face as she clung onto Y/n.

As the skiff moved slowly, Y/n watched the darkened sky’s. When the first marker approached she rolled her shoulders. The holy cuff didn’t shine as it did in the sunlight. It was muted now, but no less dangerous.

“Marker one.” Natacha voiced as she passed the two sisters. Alina looked behind her to the Inferni.

“How many more are there?” Y/n opened her mouth to soothe her sister. Not many Y/n would lie.

“Thirty seven.” Natacha said walking away. Y/n sighed softly as she watched Alina’s face drop. Mal looked back at the two sisters. With a nod from Y/n he tore his gaze away. The anger Y/n felt was all the same, Alina should not be there.

The volcra above screeched and growled as they flew. The rhythmic vibrations of there wings was enough to lull Y/n to sleep. It seemed to push at her eyelids, to force them down. She could never listen to closely to the volcra or she would sleep.

Raisa’s accusatory gaze found Alina’s as they passed a fallen ship. A particularly loud growl frightened the gunman into to ready positions. Y/n remained where she was. She pushed Alina to sit on the floor as she joined the grisha. They moved about the skiff quietly, but no where near as silent as Y/n.

With all the armor on she was still as silent as snow. Slowly the blue light began to go out. Natacha moved to it quickly, hitting the glass. Y/n quickly moved next to her and opened the lantern. She sprinkled in a soft blue powder from a small pouch at her side. She blowed softly on it, the blue flame caught once more.

Natacha and Y/n shared a calm look for a few seconds till the sound of a lighter interrupted the peace. Y/n whipped around to see one of the soldiers holding a lit lantern. A tremble seemed to be through the air.

“Blow it out! What are you doing?” Natacha whispered, there was a tremor in her. From behind the boy came growling. Horrible, gut wrenching growling. From behind the boy a Volcra rose to its full height. Y/n shot out the golden arrow from her bow quickly.

The Volcra screeched and flew away with a limp. It was all too late though. Another Volcra swarmed down, grabbing the boy. It bit down onto his leg and flew off no matter how many arrows she shot. The lantern fell down, its fire quickly emerging across the wooden boards.

From all around the Volcra growled. Y/n looked back at Alina, she was crouching next to the fire. Y/n stood in front of her sister, crossbow knocked with another arrow. Like the demons they were the Volcra swept through the skiff. The squaller moving the skiff was gone next.

Y/n began to fire automatically, each golden arrow erupted in sunlight when piercing the flesh of the Volcra. They reappeared after every shot fire. Raisa was gone next, the Volcra having taking a bite of her shoulder. The blood drips onto her face as the Volcra carried her away. Y/n dropped down, shielding Alina as the side broke down in flames.

Y/n stood back up her hands going back to her cross bow. She fired each arrow as a body fell next to her. Alina’s vibrations were quivering as she shrunk away from the man’s still moving corpse. Y/n coughed as smoke rose up. Her helmet slowly infused into her neck.

Y/n pulled the thing off, she needed to be able to see Alina. Her eyes drifted for a seconds to Mal. A Volcra swept over him dangerously close. Y/n shot out an arrow. It wasn’t fast enough. Mal ducked before the Volcra could grab him. The crossbow disappears in a buff of gold as she reached down.

She pulled the twin daggers from her side, lodging them into a Volcra that swept too close to her. They cried out in pain as she raised her hand, the daggers flying back to their master. This was a suicide mission and Y/n knew it. Not many would survive this.

Y/n looked down at Alina for a seconds. She knelt down and handed her sister a dagger.

It was a subtle plead.

“Don’t move.” She commanded as she moved away. She couldn’t let all these people die, it would be a shame to her abilities if she couldn’t save them. Her dangers flew from her hands and came back. It was like a dance as she moved quickly around the skiff, killing any Volcra in her path.

Maja barked wildly, attacking all the Volcra in sight. The ones that got to close to her and Alina that was. Her teeth were coated in black.

“Come at me! Come at me you cowards!” Natacha screamed as a Volcra took her by the shoulder. Y/n threw herself forward towards the Volcra. Her dagger flew into its neck as she tore its head from its body. It’s blackened blood sprayed all over her as she caught Natacha in her arms.

She was breathing hoarsely, there was a hold in her neck. Y/n pushed her hands into the large wound on her shoulder. Tears flooded her eyes, this wasn’t happening. Natacha had always been kind to her. Didn’t care for her extreme faith.

“No no no no no no! NO! Don’t close your eyes!” Y/n held her friends tore body as she died. Her blue kefta was destroyed as she laid down her body. This wasn’t supposed to happen, not to them. Y/n stood up and her daggers formed into large swords. They sliced the Volcra clean in half before two grisha.

Y/n heard screaming, Mal’s screams. She turned around, sweat and blood dripping down her face. She threw herself forward quickly. Blood seemed to envelope her vision as she stabbed into the flying demon. Mal’s body dropped down as Y/n pieced its wings. The stupid animal dropped down, its blood all over her. Y/n coughed as the blood dripped into her mouth.

She crawl desperately over to Mal, who was held by Alina. She hadn’t protected them like she promised. She failed them. She gripped into Mal’s other hands as the chaos continued around them. She could feel his vibrations, they weren’t as strong as normal.

She failed.

Tears covered his face as she whispered his name, “Mal?” Maja whined softly and licked the side of his face.

The fire flickered around, its lights illuminating her face. The two sisters clung into him as nothing else seemed to exist. Her mouth tasted of iron and rot. She could help but sob as she held him. Her family, her small family was about to be smaller.

His vibrations echoed in her ears as she sniffled. Alina cried at her side as they held him. They two refused to let go of him. Her armor fell she clung to him, his skin to buzz. She felt a ringing in her ears, like a twinkle.

“I’ll meet you two at the meadow.” His words froze her sobs as he spoke. She couldn’t let such a thing happen. She cried softly as she felt wind blow around her. Alina was pulled up, a volcra’s claws around her waist. No……

Y/n still clutching Mal’s hand threw herself up. Her bare hand caught into Alina’s, fear and panic all over her face. It was warm, as she clung into her family her body became warm. A light began to grow out of her body and she clung to them.

Light exploded from her body, the overwhelming sensation grew as another source of light grew with her. It surrounded around the skiff, throwing the shadows back from the world. Then her world was blank.

Moon Helios

Everything was foggy, her vision, her hearing her mind. She could feel every vibration around them. The heavy hands around her, as her legs laid limp. They dragged her to gods know where. She was bleeding, somewhere in her body she was bleeding. Probably her leg, it felt like it was on fire.

Where was Alina.

Where was her sister…..

Well her saint she supposed. She watched it happen, her sister could summon light. Alina has saved them all. What was left of them she guessed.

She could hear the loud and quickly movement of the guards, the healer that ran next to them.

“Mal…. Lina…..Maja….” She coughed as she felt a bone boop back into place.

“Careful! Are going to hurt her dragging g her like that!” The healers voice was timid but loud. The men dragged her didn’t listen as she moved. Her ears rung, she could feel the blood dripping down her ears. Her armor was covered in a thick layer of blood.

Maja barked loudly as she followed. The men tried to kick at her. Y/n jerked away ready to kill them for trying to hurt her wolf. Maja growls as she followed them. Her fur was covered in black. Y/n knew how much she hates to be messy. She would give her sweet girl a nice hot bath once this was over.

She opened her eyes to a fuzzy worlds. Grisha moved out of her way, dread coating their faces. She must’ve looked like animal, wounded and bloody. Her hair fell, covering her face.

“Where is she?” The healer squeaked at the sound of her voice, rough and dangerous. The young healer and blinked a few times as she held her hands together.

“Behind us,” She paused looking at the man dragged Y/n. “Stop dragging her like that! You’re going to break her arm.” They did not listen as the healer followed them. The black tent was moved aside and she was forced in. Her knees hit the ground, her armor clanking. She coughed for a seconds and took in a breath.

She focused herself, listening to the vibrations of the world. A hush has fallen over the tent. It opened once more and she felt Alina. Her eyes jumped open as she felt her sister pull away from the guards. Alina’s trembling hands wound around her shoulder. The cold bits of armor touching her sister’s skin.

Y/n hugged her sister tightly, her hand resting atop her head. Alina smelt of smoke, not the normal scent. Her legs and body was weak. But she smiled at Alina as the girl pulled back.

“Bring them closer.” Her eyes snapped to the voice before her. He stood, back to them as guards grabbed into the girls. Her elbow forced its way to a guards face when her tried to grab Alina. She stood on her shaking legs, hiding her sister behind her.

She took a small step for them, Alina clung to Y/n. Her smaller frame hidden behind the grime covered armor of her sister. Y/n would not let this man anywhere near her sister. Her…. Her saint.

Slowly the man turned, her eyes went blank. It was him. The Darkling, The black general, the shadow summoner. He was the man who plagued her dreams. His dark eyes were the ones that she would think about.

Alina grabbed onto Y/n’s hand, her armor now covered her once more. Y/n glare at him, piecing into those dark eyes like she never had.  If only looks could kill.

“Closer.” His words were like honey to her ears. All she could feel now was him. His vibrations were steady, like an unmoving mountain with the force to shake the earth. Y/n would not submit and move closer.

She remained right where she stood. A pillar of strength and might. A Helios ready to slaughter any in her path. Alina gently nudged her, obviously afraid of reprisals. Y/n took a small step, Alina followed behind.

“Well?” He asked. The glare did not leave her face. She studied him, he was perfect. At every angle he was perfect. Just like in every dream he was perfect. He was taller than her, like in her dreams.

“Well what?…” After a few seconds Alina timidly added, “Sir.”

She hated the way Alina sounded so afraid. The way she hide behind the strength that her sister held. Her hand trembled still.

“What are you? His gaze wasn’t on Alina. They two stared deeply into the other. Y/n’s e/c eyes refused to break away. His dark origins watched her every move. Like a hawk he stared at Y/n.

“Alina Starkov, Assistant Cartographer, Royal Corps of Surveyors.” Alina trembled. She didn’t speak, she didn’t owe the Darkling the luxury of her name. His eyes didn’t leave hers. He just waited in silence for her name. Glaring at him she relented.

“Y/n Starkov, Private Commander, Royal Corps of Combat, Blood Helios of the First Army” His lips perked up at the sound of her voice. She didn’t like that at all.

“They’re all gone.” Alina mumbled.

“It’s our fault. That’s why we’re here ain’t it?” She whispered clinging into Y/n’s hand. The Darkling raised his hand suddenly.

“Answer the question.” Why was he speaking like that. Why was he staring at her. They way he spoke, moving like he was trying to coax a frightened doe towards himself. Is that what he thought her? A scared doe? And not the blood thirsty beast. Maja growled as the Darkling slowly leaded against the table behind him.

“What are you?” Y/n felt Alina flicker, she was confused.

“A mapmaker, sir.”

“A Helios.” They laughed. A growl came from Maja and Y/n in sync. They dared to laugh int here faces. Where was the honor in this grisha.

“Quiet.” They all went silent. Maja too quiet down and sat by her side. He hadn’t even raised his voice an ounce. He made Maja just sit down by her side. No one had even done such a thing to her wolf.

The Darkling stared at her, his eyes trailing down her. He tore his eyes away looking around the tent.

“So who actually saw what happened?” There was a hush over the crowd. His eyes turned to the dirty Suli girl at there side. She was one of the grisha whom she decapitated the Volcra in front of.

“Zoya? You manned the main sail.” His voice was a bit more harsh now. A twinkle of anger was on his face.

“We were attacked barely two markers in.” Zoya swallowed and continued. “Someone lit a lantern.” His eyes trailed back to Y/n’s.

“And?”

“The Volcra went after the ruffle man and our Inferni first, the Cultist tired to kill most of them but-

“Cultist?” He asked. She moved her eyes to Zoya, they seemed to darken. Y/n had saved her life. Ungrateful fucking girl. Cultist they still called her. After she saved them they would still call her cultist.

Zoya frozen back a little upon the question. She looked back at Y/n and the Darkling seemed to make the connection.

“The armored one was killing the Volcra.” Zoya restated. She couldn’t even be bothered to call her what she was. Helios, was it that hard to remember. The Darkling nodded in her direction, his eyes never leaving Y/n.

“And then there was a searing light, one white and other a more silver color.” Zoya finished.

“It was them.” The other voice rang out. Y/n glare at the man who spoke. Alina hid further behind Y/n.

“Our Helios and mapmaker.” He tilted his head.

“Is this true? Can you both summon light?” Alina shook her head in shocked. The Darkling followed her motion mocking her. He mocked her sister. Her saint! The fear that radiated off Alina was enough to make Y/n want to kill this Darkling.

“Where did you grow up?” Y/n wasn’t sure how to answer. For her first twelve years it was in Keramzin, but after that it was in the sanctuary. She wouldn’t tell him where her home was. She didn’t need to.

“Keramzin.” Alina muttered, The Darkling’s eyes remained on her own. Like he expected a different answer. He would get none.

“And when were you tested.” Never, that was only answer. They hadn’t been properly tested. The scars on their hands were proof enough.

“You don’t remember?” He asked. She pushed Alina further behind her body as the Darkling moved towards them.

“Well let us just make certain.” Every step he took was a personal attack. He removed his ring and pushed a small claw like blade from it. She felt Alina quiver in her grip. Her heart sank to the bottom pits of death as she took a step back.

“Lift up your sleeve,” He paused looking at her. “Remove your armor.” He stood right above her. She didn’t think, the dagger manifested before she could stop herself. It pressed into his stomach as she clutched it.

“Move closer, and I will gut your intestines out and shove them down your throat.” A collective gasp rang through the tent. The oprichniki took a step towards her, the threat that she was. He simply waved them off, like fussing children.

“Why do they call you cultist?” He softly asked, the faintest of smirks on his face. She twisted the blade in her grip.

“Because I have killed and will kill for my faith.” He hummed once. Her heart began to beat loudly in her ears. Its intensity changed, beating harder with every pulse. She choked in her breath as the dagger hit the floor.

She stood there as she felt her body begin to shift. Her gaze tired to the other grisha, the ones in red kefta’s. One of them had his hands together, he was messing with her. It wasn’t enough to shake her though. She coughed softly as she took long slow breathes.

Another soon joined him, then another, and another till all the Heartrender’s stood firm. Her body sank to the ground as she fought the effects. Blood dripped down her nose, mouth and ears. She coughed as she tried to force her way back up.

The Darkling took small steps around her. His eyes never leaving her fighting crumpled form. She watched in horror as he grabbed onto her sister, her Alina. Maja growled and barked loudly, piercing through all their ears. However the wolf refused to leave Y/n’s side as she tried to fight.

The room began to buzz as she hands shook. The vibrations of every living thing amplified. The heartrender’s hands began to shake as the dark room began to shift. Slowly she lifted her body, fighting there manipulations of her body with her own.

The first grisha who stood to stop her glare, his harsh eyes trying to force her back down. It was too late now, her armor had deflected most of the others. Her vibrations only grew as others covered their ears.

The moment she stood up right a wave of light hit her. She body froze as she watched. From the small cut came a blaze of light. It was the sun ten fold. Her mind was blank. Alina really was her saint. The very saint she was supposed to protect with her life.

She fell to one knee in shock as the lights slowly faded away. Alina’s eyes drifted over to Y/n’s so fearful of what she was. The two sisters didn’t have words. What words could they express.

Alina was her saint. The being she’d been worshiping since childhood. A saint that was prophesied to come. No one knew when, it was an old tale.

Y/n had killed for her, in the name of her sister. Her saint that she never knew about. How could she now know. Before the globes, before she left she held Alina. Held her hand, her body so many times.

The two were always cut up, maybe that was why. She couldn’t move as the oprichniki grabbed into her. She watched for a few fleeting seconds as they dragged her sister away.

Her body flew up trying to follow. A right hand gripped into her arm. She looked back and there he was. The Darkling. Her natural enemy. What was she to do now. She pulled away, she wiped at the blood.

“Where are you taking her!” He tilted his head.

“What are you.” Again with such a stupid question.

“Where is she going?” He stared down at her, marveled at what we before him. She blinked a few times, unsure.

“Let your armor fall.” Scoffed out loud, her eyes rolling back. She would sooner die, she would sooner kill every single person in the tent than let him any closer. Maja barked loudly, he sighed once.

The same heartrender from before held his hands up. Whining Maja slowly laid down, her eyes fluttering. She felt his arm tightly around her. She jerked away, trying to reach her wolf.

“Stop it! What are you doing! STOP IT!” She yelled. He just looked at her, like a predator would its prey. He has no idea she was the apex in this situation. His gaze was so strange as she jerked her arm.

“Lower your armor.” She didn’t stop, he froze for a moment then added a gentle, “Please.”

She sighed as the armor slowly rang back up her body. Her uniform was tattered and blood seeped through the pants. Her pulled her closer, his grip around her sleeve. She could smell him, it was intoxicating. She looked up at him, her mask breaking for a moment.

She was afraid, angrily she was afraid. What kind of soldier was she to be afraid of her enemy. That was how wars were so often lost. His hand gently grabbed her broken sleeve pulling it up.

His bare hand went to regrab her. She shock for a few seconds, terror engulfed her. It was like the water was forcing its way down her lungs once more. Her secret was about to be exposed to her enemy. Her breath left her body in pieces.

“Please… don’t.” She’d never begged before. His eye softened as his bare fingers brushed against her flesh. They just stared for a while. Something inside her changed, like a small switch was flipped. His grip became more prominent and there it was. Shadows erupted from him, casting themselves all over.

And then without so much as a prick she was glowing. Her body was warm as silver began to spread out of her body. It was like a ragged inferno that only grew. Around them the shadows mixed with her silver, twisting and braiding together.

Gasps came from all those in the tent, it was like eating the formation of a star. She didn’t move, didn’t breathe as it all stopped. A real smile came onto his lips as she stood horrified.

Blasphemy…. That was what her life now was. She was blasphemous.

“A moon summoner…” He paused and then there was a softer voice. “And an amplifier.”

She was ruined now, nothing would save her now.

Question
Question

It was loud in Hell. Louder than she thought it would be. After evening dragged down however many years ago she’d lost all hope of ever leaving. Her father was not much help, some high lord demon he was. Couldn’t even free his own daughter for the prison of his own making.

She could never quite drown out all the screaming. Her ears were better than that of normal humans, she could hear everything. Every soul being tormented. Every demon who laughed. There was not one thing in hell that happened that she couldn’t hear.

However as the door to her torture chamber opened slowly she did not recognize the footsteps of the ghost who quickly hid. Her eyes slowly lifted upwards, her face red and puffy of tears.

They on the ground next to her was a boy her age. With pale skin, blood dripping from his forehead, almost black hair and the most intense emerald eyes she’d ever seen. His face was covered in terror as he looked around the room.

Bodies covered every inch. Bloody mutilated bodies. Limps and guts were torn out and scattered about. The faces of horror forever laced in the corpses.

“Who are you?” Her voice came out hoarse, her last screaming fit having only been a few minutes ago.

“….Edwin Payne.” His voice was soft, maybe a bit fearful.

She chuckled softly, pain? His last name was Payne and he was in hell.

“I think you’re in the wrong room.” She whispered softly, leaning closer to him. He shook his head furiously, the blood in his face crippled down.

“No! I shouldn’t be here at all!” He whisper yells. The girl nodded softly as some demon crawled in front of her door. Edwin froze up, his eyes locking upon the entrance.

“Don’t worry sacrifice, most of the demons avoid this room.” She mumbled laying her head back down in her knees. He slowly turned to her, he studied her frame quickly.

“Come with me.” He whispered. She snapped her head up staring into his soul.

“Excuse me?”

“Come with me, I’m escaping. If these demons are so afraid of you then maybe it will be better for the both of us.” She didn’t answer.

Her gaze traveled around the carnage covered room. Her father wasn’t evening much help getting her out of here. Her own mother laid with the corpses. Maybe that wasn’t really her, maybe her soul was somewhere else.

“That doesn’t frighten you? That demons are afraid of me?” He shock his head.

“Not if it gets us out of this place.” She nodded her head. He slowly stood up, lowering his hand for her to take.

………..

………….

……………..

Then she took it.

Hey there, I saw your requests were open and just wanted to ask if you’d be willing to do a yandere Percy Jackson x a male or gender neutral reader who happens to be an actor— I myself am male, but I also think it’s annoying to look for a fic about your favorite character, only to find out it’s written for the opposite gender. The reader can either be a demigod (probably a child of Apollo or Dionysus since those two are closely related to acting & whatnot) or just some mortal that can see through the mist like Rachel or something. Either way, would you mind writing about Percy seeing the reader & a co-Star share a stage/film kiss? It could even be Percy & Annabeth since both are pretty cool and I like them both as a couple; plus, poly yandere situations are fun. You can also decide whether or not the reader and Percy/Percy and Annabeth are dating or not; thanks for taking the time to read this, and have a great day :)

-🪑 (I am now chair anon)

Stage Lovers

A/n sorry if this isn’t what you wanted, I took a small guess in a few things. Not sure if everything I wrote was canon but whatever. I wasn’t sure if you meant the show of book so if the books image their older and the same goes for the show. Also I used the Little Shop of Horrors play in this. Hope you enjoy.

Warnings: Yandere behaviors, possessive behaviors, slightly(a bit more then slightly) himbo reader, mention of killing someone later.

All Characters are aged up to 18 plus

Percabeth x Male! Reader

Camp half-blood was a buzz with people. Apollo’s cabin was preparing the annul musical/play to celebrate their father’s birthday. Percy and Annabeth hovered around the scene as they watched their boyfriend practice his lines with some daughter of Aphrodite. The girl was too close, too touchy, to smiley for the pairs taste. Their sweet and kind boyfriend Y/n just helped her with a smile in his face. Percy kept an arm around the visibly seething Annabeth as they watched. Everyone at camp knew that Y/n was there. They all got the message but this stupid girl.

Open distain was on Annabeth face as Y/n walked over to them. His script loosely in his hands and a bright smile. He’d been working for weeks on this play, but he wouldn’t say a word about it. Y/n being the sweet boyfriend he is, wanted his lovers to be surprised when they watched him.

Y/n kissed Annabeth’s forehead first, hoping to soothe the anger visible on her face, then he moved to Percy. When he pulled away Percy held his hand.

“Who was that?”

Y/n turned his head at Annabeth’s tone. It’s irritated and annoyed.

“Who?” Y/n questioned unsure. Percy traced the back of Y/n’s hand.

“The girl over there, you were reading with her a moment ago Sunni.” Y/n blushed at Percy’s nickname for him. Looking back quickly Y/n missed the look of hatred his partners gave the girl.

“Oh, Vanessa, she’s my stage partner for the play.” The pair stilted. His partner?

“What play are you doing again?” Annabeth pondered twisting a lock of her hair. Y/n’s face lit up and he chuckled softly. The pair basked in awe of his voice. They could listen to him all day.

“Little Shop of Horror… Wait! No! I’ve spoiled it now! It was meant to be a surprise!” Y/n groaned softly. Percy laughed at his silly little Sunni. Annabeth raised a brow intrigued.

“Who do you play?”

“I’m Seymour!”

“And she is?” A moment of silence filled the air after Annabeth’s words. Percy brought Y/n closer and sent him a look.

“Who is she?” Percy demanded not liking that Y/n wouldn’t answer.

“You can’t get mad.” They pair furrowed there brows.

“Why would we be mad lovely?” Annabeth muttered softly moving some of Y/n hair. Y/n didn’t meet either of his partners gazes.

“She’s Audrey.”

Silence echoes through there conversation. Y/n had shown his partners the movie of Little Shop of Horrors once. In that one time they knew who Audrey was. Y/n took a nervous gulp and his partners shared a look.

“Are you mad?”

“No, lovely we’re not mad.”

Y/n breathed out a sigh of relief. One of his other siblings motioned for him to go back. Y/n kissed his partner goodbye quickly and dashed back to the stage.

“I’ll grab her after the show.” Annabeth voiced softly.

“Why can’t we grab her now?” Percy snapped. No one other than them was going to touch Y/n. They could allow that.

“We’re nothing going to mess up Y/n’s play, he’s been working so hard. We’ll throw her in the lake afterwards, then celebrate with Y/n.”

With Annabeth’s words said the pair returned there gaze to Y/n who was singing with one of his siblings who was playing Audrey two.

John Wick Fic??

Anyone want a platonic! John wick fix x fem! Reader. Reader is a child assassin gifted to John by the high table before he retired. Any takers?

John Wick Fic??

John Wick Fic??
John Wick Fic??

Here’s a sneak peek 👀

𝙿𝚞𝚙𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚞𝚜

The scent of iron and copper stained the area around him as he lay in the ground. His dark irises looked up at the barrel of the gun in front of his head. Corpses laid around his as he breathed softly.

With every dawn a pupillus is brought home

The girl that stood before him was dressed in an all black suit, perfectly tailored to her. Her hair sleeked back in a ponytail and braided. Her eyes cold and hard, like a killers should be. She couldn’t have been older than ten.

Her face still held that childlike glow that most kids her age had. Her Glock was firmly between his eyes. The man she’d shot before, laid dead at her feet.

“Ты Баба Яга?” The girl asked, her voice that of a pure innocent child. (Are you Baba Yaga?)

With every dusk a pupillus is dead.

John stared at her and he slowly stood up. Her gun trailed him as he towered over her.

“Yeah.” The girl hummed softly. In a swift movement her gun was in a holster at her side. She let out a small sigh.

“Good, I’m your pupillus.” John froze. A pupillus? A child bought, taken, given and molded into a killer. Only the High Table could grant a person an pupillus. Never in all his life would he think that the High Table would gift him one.

With every star a pupillus conquerors

John nodded softly as he moved a corpse out of her way. She moved next to him in a flash, almost inhumanly fast.

“You got a name kid?” John pondered softly as he began to walk away from the bloody scene. The girl trailed behind him, he couldn’t even hear her steps.

“No.”

John rubbed his face as he opened the door to his car for her. She slide into the car quickly and sat quietly. As John shut the car door he groaned softly. He didn’t ask for this, he didn’t want to have to take care of a kid. But the High Table saw him fit he supposed.

“I like Y/n, think it’s pretty.” John mumbled as they drove towards the Continental. The girl didn’t answer, only furrowed her brow.

“Yes it is pretty.” The girl agreed monotoned. As John drove he would glance at her. She stared out at the city with a small spark in her eyes, liked she’d never seen so many lights before. The girl didn’t speak, she didn’t move, to John it didn’t even look like she was breathing.

She looked almost alien to him. Not that she looked strange but she acted strange. She wasn’t like any child John had ever know, and he supposed she wasn’t. Pupillus were meant to hide in plain sight, she certainly looked like a child….. just not her eyes.

With every comet a pupillus falls

John didn’t know it then but this girl would change his entire life. He would name her, he would love her, he would care for her, and she in turn…. Would destroy for him.

These are the vows of a pupillus

To serve, to die, to kill for our masters for we are pupillus

A/n: This is the being of Act II. This will go over the first season of s&b. Also this fix gets a whole lot darker from here in out. Like a lot. Also the imagine of Alice above isn’t ment to mean anything. It is just a visual representation of a girl in armor. That is somewhat what Helios! Readers armor looks like.

Edit: I don’t know how I forgot about Drazan, he’s a new character and you’ll learn more about him in a minute.

Normal School

Y/n smiled as she raced Bella downstairs. Bella wasn’t actually racing she knew that. Being back in her childhood home made her want to jump for joy. She slammed the door open and all but ran outside to her dad’s side.

She smiled brightly at the father and son in front of her. Jacob smiled back at her as her dad moved to speak.

“Bella, Y/n you girls remember Billy Black.” Charlie tells his daughters. Y/n nods her head with her normal bright smile. She can remember all the play dates she would have on the reservation with Jacob.

“Wow, you’re looking good.” Bella says smiling.

“Well, I’m still dancing.” Billy answered.

“You never could out dance me though.” Y/n giggles. Billy smiled at Y/n as she shook his hand.

“I’m glad you girls are finally here. Charlie here hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming.” Y/n laughed softly at Charlie’s bewildered expression.

“Miss us that much daddy?” Y/n asked giggling. Charlie rolled his eyes at his young daughter and scrunched at her hair.

“All right, keep exaggerating. I'll roll you into the mud.” Charlie amused.

“After I ram you in the ankles.” With that Billy rolled over to Charlie. The two men began to playful fight. Y/n smiled softly, she’d liked Mr. Billy. We would let her sit in his lap and read to her when Charlie would work late shifts.

“Hi I’m Jacob.” Y/n eyes widened as she saw him. He was taller now, more muscular too. When they were little he was short and scrawny. His ebony hair had grown out a bit more. She remembered him well.

It was like the universe wouldn’t let her forget, her bestest friend. Jacob Black.

“We used to make mud pies when we were all little.” He continued smiling.

“Right, no I remember now.” Bella smiled. Y/n couldn’t hold back her grin anymore and she pounced onto him. Her arms wrapped tightly around his neck as a squeezed him.

“I hated those mud pies! I would just braid flowers in both of your hairs.” Y/n laughed as she pulled away from him. A soft pink dusted over Jacob’s cheeks as she pulled away.

“Y/N! You’re back!” Jacob chuckled not knowing what to say.

“It’s a shame you grew so much. I can’t make fun of you about how small you are anymore.” Y/n turned to Bella with a smile. Bella shook her head softly and looked over at their fathers.

“Are they always like this?” She asked softly.

Jacob shook his head slightly replying, “it’s getting worse with old age.” Y/n smiled again as she stared up at Jacob. He still has the small scar under his chin from when they went swimming together when it was storming.

Y/n hadn’t realized she been staring for a while till she hear Bella squealing in excitement. She turned as Bella was moving around the red truck.

“This is perfect.” Y/n followed Bella into the car she hit Jacob with the  door. Her arm shot out catching his back and helping him back up. He turned to her staring for a few seconds. Y/n blinked and sat next to Bella with a small smile. Jacob quickly slide into the car next to her.

“Listen, you gotta double-pump the clutch when you shift, but besides that you should be good.” Jacob told Bella. Y/n watched Bella test it out quickly.

“Do you want a ride to school or something?” Bella asked. Y/n turned to Jacob. She knew it was a long shot but maybe they could go to school with one another now.

“I go to school on the reservation.” He admitted with a smile.

“I wish we could go to the same school.” Y/n muttered softly.

“That’s too bad, it would’ve been nice to know one person.” Bella answered. Pouting Y/n gently hit her sister’s arm.

“What am I then?” Bella rolled her eyes.

“You don’t count in that aspect.” Y/n scoffed softly and crossed her arms. To her sides both people laughed at her.

…………………………….

Regular human school was boring. Y/n sat next to Bella at her lunch table unamused. She’s already been asked three times if she had studied in Italy. She wasn’t sure why that’s the country everyone picked.

The cover for the academy wasn’t even in Italy, it was in Egypt. The desserts made the perfect hiding grounds for the portals to the hidden realm. She didn’t like how all the boys seemed obsessed with Bella.

They reminded her of rabbits in heat looking for a mate. She liked Erik, he seemed nice enough. Mike was fragile but a little funny. Quietly stabbing her fork through her apples coated in honey and tajín. She perked her head up at Bella’s words.

“Who are they?” Bella asked staring out the window. Y/n’s gaze drifted to where her sister laid. Walking into the cafeteria were two pairs of boy and girl.

“The Cullens.” Angela answered with a smile. Y/n furrowed a brow at her. Cullen? She’d sworn she’d heard the name before.

“They're Dr. and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska, like a few years ago.” Jessica answered handing Y/n half of her sandwich. She smiled softly and ate it quietly.

Gods above and below how Y/n has missed a simple sandwich. With deli meat, cheese, and mayonnaise. She loved all the food she’d ever eaten but there was something nostalgic about a plain sandwich.

“They kind of keep to themselves.”

“Yeah, cause they’re all together.” Jessica added smiling like the gossip queen she was. “Like together, together. The blonde girl, that's Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like a thing.”

Y/n stared at them as they walked past her table. Rosalie the blonde was gorgeous beyond belief. Her hair was perfect in every way, soft, bouncy and smooth. Emmett the big dark haired boy was no different. Not an imperfection on his body.

He was huge like a pro football player. His large hand tightly wrapped around Rosalie’s. But as they passed a stench wafted into her nose. Like the smell of a hospital completely sterile.

“I’m not even sure that legal.” Jessica whispered.

“Jess, they’re not actually related.” Angela snipped quietly.

“Yeah, but they live together. It's weird.” Jessica turned back to the Swan sisters. “Okay, the little dark haired girls Alice. She’s really weird, and she’s with Jasper, the blonde one who looks like he’s in pain.” Y/n watched as Alice twirled about.

Weird wasn’t the right word. She was so pale, paler than Bella and that was an achievement. Jasper did look like he was in pain. His eyes were glassed over like some ravaged wolf. Hungry carving blood.

They too had not visible imperfections.

As they passed her they left a new scent to her nose. It smelt like smoke, maybe a hint of smoke. It was faint, not entirely unpleasant like the two before them. It was just odd. It was familiar to her.

“Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad/matchmaker.” Jessica amused. Y/n scoffed softly as she finished her last bite of sandwich. Jessica smiled softly at her, handing her a small package of cookies.

“Maybe he’ll adopt me.” Y/n froze for a second so small it thankfully went unnoticed. Adoption… the word sent shivers down her spine. She wasn’t ungrateful to be living with her dad and sister.

She loved them dearly, but it always made her feel uneasy.

“Who’s he?” Bella asked staring so deeply it made her confused. There he walk, the object of Bella’s thoughts. Y/n could practically feel the way her heart began to move.

“That's Edward Cullen. He's totally gorgeous, obviously, but apparently nobody here's good enough for him.  Like I care, you know?” Jessica finished. Y/n wanted to visibly recoil.

Edward wasn’t ugly, handsome and perfect. She hated it, she wasn’t sure why. He like all his siblings were perfect. There was something off about him though. The way his lip curled when Jessica talked about him.

As he passed her his smell was something else entirely. He smell still, like a heart that hadn’t beat in a hundred years. Completely frozen over, like ice had found its way around his heart.

Bella stared at him too, but not like herself. She admired him for the distance. Y/n couldn’t bring herself to.

“Seriously, like don’t waste your time.” Jessica mentioned as she saw the sister staring.

“I wasn’t planning on it.” Bella uttered as she looked back.

“He’s probably too old for me anyway.” As she turned back his eyes were baring directly at Bella. Edward’s gaze turned for a moment to her. His eyes were blacked with not clear distinction between iris and pupil.

His whole family smelt, they were not human. Y/n was a skilled enough hunter to know that. They were something else entirely. Now she just needed to figure out what.

Then she would have her first real hunt as a branded hunter.

…………………………….

Mike had graciously decided to lead the two sister to Biology together. It took him a moment to realize that Y/n was a junior with them. It seemed he’d forgotten quickly how smart she was.

“Mr. Molina.” Mike greeted as he walked to his seat. The teacher smiled at him as both Bella and Y/n walked in. Her baggy leather jacket was held in her hands as she followed.

“The two Swans.” Mr. Molina greeted. Y/n played with her pendant dangling from her neck. She thought of Kellan as she looked over all her jewelry. He’d crafted them all himself. The pendant hung elegantly over her chest.

On instinct her and a hand wrapped around it. She clung to it for comfort. She wasn’t afraid. Fear was the mind killer. To be afraid was to let your enemies have control over you. She was not afraid. Just uneasy.

Y/n’s eyes roamed the class room till the landed on the Cullen boy. His black eyes bore into hers with an animalistic expression. His scent enveloped her senses, unchanging, unmoving, just still.

She watched his face recoil as the fan blowed the air through her and Bella’s hair. His hand covered his nose and moth in disgust. She smelt her hair quickly, lotus flowers and honey. The same scent she always had. A hint of rose and vanilla maybe from the perfume she had worn earlier.

She smelt good, she knew that could not be the issue. As she walked to sit next to him, she studied him. His fist were tightly woven together. His jaw clenched so tight he might break a tooth.

Sitting down on the edge seat Bella sat next to Cullen boy, Edward. Her teacher , Mr. Molina gave her the books for his class with a smile. Her old instructors rarely smiled. It was a nice change.

The two sister shared a quickly glance as Edward slid the small dish over to them. His nails scratched the desk, creating the most annoying sound. Bella poked her head towards him, his black unsettling eyes caused her to turn away.

His stare never left the two girls. Every few minutes Y/n would look back at him, her eyes hardened to there cores. She would stare back till his eyes faltered. He was unnatural. The way he all buy jumped out of his chair moments before the bell rung.

As he passed her quickly she felt her skin grow warm. Glancing under her jacket lo and behold her hunter marks were glowing softly. She eyes shot towards his retreating frame at an inhuman pace.

Monster. He was a monster. That much was sure. What kind was the issue now. Changeling? Golem? Vampire? Skinwalker? What would a monster be doing in a high school of all places.

Y/n look over at Bella softly. Bella held her hands gently over her beating heart. Y/n felt the rage boiling inside of her sister. Bella’s anger often turned into tears. It never ended well for anyone who made her sister cry.

“Well, he was an asshole.” Y/n uttered offering Bella her hand. Bella smiled faintly and took it.

“I guess he was.” Bella murmured. Y/n giggled softly and nudged Bella’s shoulder.

“Look at you talking smack, looks like all those years of being the horrible little sister have been paying off.” Bella scoffed and pushed her gently.

“As if…. You were never a horrible sister.” Y/n smiled faintly.

…………………………….

Her next class was chemistry with seniors. Although she wanted to stay with Bella, chemistry was a passion of hers. Well

More chemical experiments. The juniors had a course but it wouldn’t have been as fun. As she approached her teacher the older lady smiled almost manically.

“Good morning, I’m Y/n Swan-“

“And you’re my newest student?” Y/n nodded with a smile. Her teacher giggled and patted her shoulder. She wore goggles on her head like a mad scientist. Y/n knew she would like her.

“I went over your transcripts from Northride Academy, very impressed. Your old chemistry teacher had many good things to say.” Y/n let her smirk widen slightly. Most of the transcripts were fake in a sense. Northride Academy was a real school, she did learn there.

It was just not all she learnt. As for her chemistry teacher, it was just Kijani. He too has an interest in the subject.

“I’m surprised you decided to continue your high school education instead of going to collage.”

“I wanted the high school experience, even if it’s just for a few years.” Her teacher nodded softly.

“I’m Ms. Franken.” Y/n let her brows furrow.

“Like Frankenstein?” The older women nodded.

“I’ve got a seat for you at lab four, in the corner over there with the Cullen’s.” Y/n nodded as she walked over. The two Cullens she was to seat with the gorgeous blonde and hefty brunette.

She set her bag to the side and grab her lab safety kit from Ms. Franken. It was just her luck that her teacher had an extra. Unfortunately the coat was a boys coat. It’s was rather large on her, but rolling up her sleeves would fix that issue.

She took the empty spot next to the boy and  met the blondes gaze. Her eyes were sharpe and golden. Her scent was cleared now. Roses, she smelt of roses and perhaps some moss. It was a gentle scent, kinder to her nose than Edward’s.

To her side Emmett smelt of the forest and oddly cookie dough. It was a warm smell, something she enjoyed. But when they stood together the collective sterile smell was still present. Simply not as pronounced.

Placing a smile on her face she turned to the pair. She reached her hand out slowly.

“I’m Y/n Swan, I’ll be your new lab partner.” The boy immediately took her hand in his. His hand engulfed her own as he shook it firmly. His hands were ice cold and then he retracted quickly. The glare from Rosalie was promising.

“Emmet Cullen, and this is-“

“Rosalie Hale.” Her voice was perfect too. Y/n nodded with a smile. She was an enchanting creature. She wasn’t human that much was obvious.

She glanced at her arm. Her lab coat had lifted slightly. She could she the mark of Anubis glowing on her wrist. She pulled the coat down with a smile.

More monsters.

“I’m not totally sure what we’re ment to be working on, could you both help me?” Rosalie didn’t answer and went back to her work. Emmett smiled and noddded.

“We’re making colored fires. Simple enough.” Y/n nodded softly as she look at all the equipment at her lab. The burner before her was probably the weakest. It looked a bit worn as she suspected, when lighting the flame it was dull.

Slowly as grab her metal salts from the vials she glanced over at her lab mates. Rosalie had an annoyed look plastered on her face. The statement necklace she wore looked old, 1900’s maybe.

“Your necklace is pretty.” The blonde’s golden eyes snapped up as she pressed her hand to the desk. Y/n breathed in deeply as she focused. The Blaze orders powers were most difficult to control.

The high emotions the high the heat. The tiny wisp of fire grew larger and she pulled her hand away. Kijani had always been specific about using her powers in the human realm.

“Nothing noticeable, unless absolutely necessary.”

She slipped her gloves and glasses on and she flicked her air vent on. Grabbing the strontium chloride and lithium chloride she grab the small spoon.

“Thank you.” Rosalie answered softly. Smirking Y/n dropped her metal salts onto her fire it lit up in red and a crimson pink. The two at her side stared at the strong colorful fire as she caught her teachers gaze. Ms. Franken was smiling at her.

“You’re most welcome.” Y/n added as she looked away. Under her coat she looked at her marks. They all glowed softly in a silver and gold. She had found her first hunt.

…………………………….

Climbing out of her room had been too easy. Y/n had always remembered her house to be much bigger than this. Maybe it was the fact she was small once, maybe it had just been how imposing the house had once looked.

It didn’t matter now, she had already journeyed into the woods. Her footsteps were light as she followed by a stream. Small tadpoles flowed up the small body of water effortlessly.

She smiled to herself as she progressed, it was so simple in this forest. It was peaceful unlike the forests in the hidden realm. No monsters were lurking around in the shadows.

Well, that she wasn’t quite sure just yet. Those Cullen’s were human. Maybe to a real human they just looked like supermodels but to Y/n, she knew better. Nothing human was that perfect.

Humanity was perfect, that’s what made it so beautiful. That’s what humanity worthy of protection. Its imperfections made it real, not perfect but real.

The Cullens were something else internally. As her eyes looked around her she noticed the smallest of movement within the trees. They swayed softly, as if they had a life of their own.

Smiling she lifted her hand to grasp into the warping air above her. Her sword, a black blade with a decorated handle. The metal shined in the moonlight, casting a small glow on the area around her. At its every end was the Eclipse symbols and at its hilt was a star shoot out of the curve of the crescent moon.

Slowly she dragged its tip again the soft mud, making a small circle. She stabbed the sword into the middle with a smile. As the moon moved over the circle she took in a breath. Slowly she reached her hand out.

A grayish sliver admitted from her hands. The circle itself began to glow. Gently symbols materialized in the air and floated around.

“๒ץ Շђє ק๏ฬєг ๏Ŧ Շђ๏Շђ, ɭєՇ ๓є รקєคк ฬเՇђ ๓ครՇєг кเןคภเ.” The glow spread till it formed her masters body. He stood with his back to her, speaking softly with another. The other he spoke to was out of her view, still she smiled anyway.

She had not been gone long but she missed her master. He’d been like another father to her at her time in the academy. When others didn’t believe in her, he always did. Her need for his approval was so great. She needed to make him proud to call her his apprentice.

Cleaning her throat she spoke, “Master Kijani?”

He whipped around, smiling proudly at the small mirror like portal in front of him.

“Your first moon message! I’m so overjoyed you’ve decided to call upon me.” He answered standing straight.

“Is this a bad time? I can call you tomorrow if you’re speaking with another.” She offered, her shoulders relaxed. He shook his head, his locks swaying side to side.

“No child, I was just finishing up.” His comforting gaze left her and went to his side. With a soft nod, whatever figure that was at his side left. She nodded and stepped towards the figure in front of her.

“Who was that?”

“No one, what can I help my prized student with?” He answered.

Her lip curled up slightly. Kijani had always answered every question she’d ever asked. Her brows furrowed, she could remember if he had ever denied her knowledge. Perhaps she’d simply grown spoiled, always being informed.

“I believe I’ve found my first hunt.” She answered with a smile. Kijani’s hazel eyes perked up in interest.

“Truly? Normally it takes new hunters at the very least take a year to find a hunt.” He mumbles knowledgeably. She smiled happily, her nails biting into her skin through her excitement.

“I know! I think I’ve found some kind of changeling, or skinwalker maybe, perhaps a coven of vampires.” She exclaimed. He chuckled softly at her optimism.

“Changelings? Skinwalkers? Vampires? All in Forks, Washington?” He asked with an amused look. She nodded once more.

“I’m not sure yet.”

“We’ll do explain then.” His calm voice grounded her chaotic happiness. Her heart beat skyrocketed as she recounted her thoughts.

“There’s this family here, they’re unnaturally perfect. They smell like a still corpse, sterile and completely unmoving when tougher. They’re cold to the touch, and seem always annoyed with humans.” Kijani nodded at her rambles softly.

“You can get rid of Changelings then, they are always hot to the touch.” She nodded and stand in the moist moss bellow.

“Perhaps they’re vampires then, could you ask Dracula if there are any covens here in Forks?” She asked leaning her head in one elbow. He laughed softly at her words.

“Funny you should mention Dracula, Aerion is currently in Transylvania.” Her h/c brows shot up in surprise.

“Really? Wasn’t her placed in Romania?” She asked. Kijani agreed with her words softly.

“Yes, but Dracula needed aid with Andrei, he’s ill? In a sense.” Worry took over her face. Andrei was sick…? He was the son of Dracula, born of a human mother two hundred years ago.

His father had always been protective of his only son, it made the partnership with the Hunters all the more difficult. Dracula was the only vampire they would never hunt. He aided humanity too much to be rid of.

So by extension they could not hurt his family. Andrei was a friend to her, Dracula was often a rude in kind terms to hunters. However he had an odd softness for Y/n, she didn’t know why. Both vampires seek tame around her.

“What’s wrong with Andrei?” Her voice was laced in concern.

“We don’t know yet, if the situation escalates, I need you in Transylvania.” Kijani answered. She frowned greatly and stood up.

“Send me now! If he needs help, let me!” She snapped. Kijani laughed gently at her emotions.

“I’ve only just sent you home, and you want to come back already.” She scoffed softly as she walked around the glowing circle.

“And you tell em something horrible.” She snipped back. He hummed gently at her as he watched her with gentle eyes.

“You worry too much, Aerion can handle this alone, just as you will handle this hunt alone.” He answered. Alone… she was really alone this time. Kijani couldn’t come to her rescue if something went wrong.

Nothing would go wrong though, she was ready. She’d found her kill, now all that was left was to do it.
