Just little children who never had a childhood
#my sweet baby angels
happy pride month everyone :)
We don't get enough wholesome queer movies, sure, we have a few queer movies like "love, Simon", "call me by your name" and all or movies like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "The Imitation Game" which are biopics of actual queer people but HOW MANY OF THEM ARE WHOLESOME??? NONE.
All we get is pain and trauma which is the actual portrayal of the struggle of coming out and just being queer. Movies with just cute little scenes, holding hands, kissing, being silly and intimate, we deserve such movies too. And we are finally getting them.
Heartstopper and rwrb are so wholesome and im not gonna shut up about it. My silly little gay heart can't handle the joy I get from these.
The one and only Barbie
MARGOT ROBBIE. ph. Ethan James Green for Vogue.
My family had a similar reaction and to this day I don’t feel entirely accepted. I know it could be a lot worse. But sometimes i just wish they would love this part of myself too.
I'm so very emotional about Ted Lasso specifying that "we don't care" is a a bad reaction to people coming out because that's what happened to me. I worked up all this courage and I coordinated to get my father, my mother, and my mother's boyfriend all in the same room, and my mother's reaction was, and I quote, "okay, get that scholarship in on time or I'll fucking kill you". And when I was understandably upset, some of my friends tried to convince me that I was overreacting because at least my parents weren't angry or homophobic. Being queer is a part of your identity, you can't say you "don't care" about part of your loved one's identity. Even if you're trying to show that your feelings for someone haven't changed, you're dismissing them. And just like Ted explained, you're leaving them alone.
PS, the story has a happy ending for me, my pediatrician found out how my family reacted and stood up for me to my mother, who I no longer talk to, and the rest of my family is wonderful and accepting
I already miss him so much.
SUCCESSION (2018-2023) Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy
You're the man, Mr Roy. You're the man.
#i’ll take the ambiguous but domestic ot3 happily ever after, thanks
i LOVE greta gerwig for getting men mad and saying things like 'barbie is sexist and anti-men' or that the film is too girly and not interesting enough for men cause i genuinely can't name all the films written by men, directed by men, produced by men, most of the cast members were male (and half of them served jail time) and displayed such disturbing disgusting and abusive narratives (which weren't needed for the plot of the film AT ALL) that i literally got triggered and couldn't even finish the whole thing where as in barbie 'the worst it gets' for men is ken being just ken and not enough for babrie - which ends up getting resolved at the end.
