I think there's something that needs to be said about encouraging readers to leave feedback.
For me it's not about "tell me my writing is amazing and stroke my ego"
It's more about "please engage with me so that I can experience your joy secondhand and foster a connection with you"
I understand that not everyone wants this in their reading experience, some people are shy and a million other reasons why maybe someone wouldn't want to engage and that's perfectly fine!
But what I'm trying to steer away from is being a passive content creator with passive consumers. What I want to steer toward is fostering a community that is essential to fandom. I want to see your reactions because it makes me feel like I'm a part of something.
On encouraging reblogs —
I understand that not everyone is comfortable reblogging, especially explicit content. This is ok!
But just consider that the only reason you were able to enjoy a fic or fanart is because someone else shared it, and by not sharing it yourself you are potentially robbing someone else of the opportunity to enjoy it as much as you did.
As OPs our reach only goes so far and this website relies on reblogs in order for anything to truly get seen by a wider audience.
So that's really it! That's why I encourage these two things at the end of every story I post. Not because I'm trying to be demanding and "make people feel bad" if they don't do it.
I know most other social media sites encourage mindless content consumption and that's just the way of the world nowadays, but I am from a time when community was at the heart of fandom and I just don't want to lose that.
reblog to reblog from the person you reblogged from
I started using Head and Shoulders ten years ago for itchy scalp and dandruff, and then for ten years I have not had itchy scalp and dandruff, so I thought “why do I still buy shampoo to combat itchy scalp and dandruff when I do not have itchy scalp and dandruff,” so I stopped buying the shampoo for itchy scalp and dandruff and can you guess I have now? Can you predict what currently afflicts me? It’s alright if you can’t because apparently I fuckin couldn’t either
no you don't get it I like superhero comics in a smart way. their long publication histories and self-conscious positioning as a deeply usamerican art form allows them to act as a fascinating time capsule for the cultural history of the united states. you pick up a superhero comic from even just a few decades ago and you get a snapshot into that time period's prevailing views on gender and race relations, nationalism, individualism, environmentalism, views on children, the contemporary relationship between writers/artists, their editors and the reading public, etc. and superhero franchises are so prevalent in usamerican children's media that they act as a shared cultural touchstone of childhood on a scale that few other things do, which results in them being loaded with all these frenetic youth interpretations that are later canonized as young readers become adult writers. it's the adolescence of a thousand people that has since become the thought experiment of a thousand adults. it fascinates me. also it has people in themed skintight spandex/leather outfits beating the shit out of each other which I like for sex pervert reasons

Reblog this if you support sex-averse and sex-repulsed aces, including:
Aces who never want to have sex
Aces who had sex in the past but don't desire it anymore
Aces with sexual trauma who feel like their trauma ties into their asexuality
Aces with sexual trauma who don't feel like their trauma caused their asexuality
Aces who don't want to talk to you about sex
Aces who don't want to hear about sex
Yes even aces who do not want to engage with any sexual content and don't want it in their own personal spaces
Yes even aces who express the desire to have more spaces for queer adults where their boundaries are met (on top of the queer spaces that exist, we do not want to sanitize your existing spaces ffs)
If you cannot be normal about these people existing, if you believe they're a threat to our community and to how we're viewed by people who aren't aspec and the rest of the LGBTQ+ community, you are not an asexual ally. Yes, even if you're aspec yourself. Especially if you're aspec yourself.
Because it's been pride month for 4 days and I'm already seeing people trying to throw us under the bus or pretend we don't exist because that makes the ace community more palatable to exclusionists and people who swallowed too much "aces are puritans" propaganda.
Why did I choose these characters specifically? Click the read more to find out.
Also, I made an alternate version of this poll without Robin and Nami so more of the other characters can have a chance — link here.

All of these characters (except for Uta) were taken from the seventh official One Piece popularity poll — which was also the first ever global popularity poll and the first to accept online votes.
Unfortunately, not everyone could be included as there were a total of twenty women in the top one hundred (not even mentioning Uta who wasn't an option then since Film: Red didn't come out until almost two years later).
I tried to go with characters that were recurring or are part of a currently or recently airing arc, such an Wano, the Reverie/Levely, and Whole Cake Island — plus the island we're currently docked on in the manga, which I will not mention by name just in case it's considered a spoiler.

And before anyone mentions Yamato: irregardless of the debate on Yamato's gender identity, it is canon that he prefers to be referred to as the son of Kaido and grouped together with men rather than women, such as in the case of the bathhouse scene.
Thus I believe it's safe to say that if we could ask Yamato whether or not he'd like to be included in the Women's Poll, he'd most likely say, "No."

Edit: My sister may have had a point when she told me I shouldn't include Nami and Robin because they'd totally dominate the votes...
Currently working on OP Ladies' Popularity Poll: Version 2 now, I guess.
Edit2: It is complete:
