tldr: the Internet Archive/WayBack Machine is super important in term of archived content, billions of stuff are on there, and with the current event happening in the world like stated above,without this tool, it will be hard to properly document what took place. It will be easy for certain people to rewrite history. Dont let them.

It’s not a crayon

My sort of maybe embarrassing “late to the game” thing I’m learning now is how to tell if oil has gone bad.

I feel like most other foods have obvious visual tells like mold or they end up smelling foul and obviously bad. But I was googling about oil and the internet says “if it smells like crayons, it’s bad” which would not have been my first guess. And I tested it out on my somewhat old sesame oil and was like “by god, I would describe this as smelling like crayons”

Anyway protip if your old oil smells kinda like crayons it’s probably no good 🖍️

Don’t use a gas oven to heat your home or run your car in the garage

Carbon monoxide kills you so quick. Please all do not do this. 

Drip both hot and cold on all faucets + open the cupboards that house the pipes because if you don’t your pipes will burst and you’ll have massive flooding.

I forget because I’ve lived up north but most texans haven’t had a reason to know these things til now. 

For those that are making jokes about “wimpy southerners” it’s been 8 degrees at night and literally half of Austin is going on the second night without heat. It is dire. I have power for now but at the press conference they said there is the possibility that they may have to shed more, and they are at their limit, which means some emergency services would be cut. The roads are too icy to drive and we’re getting more ice tonight. 

Heyo, so this is a piece I submitted to an art exhibition (my first time doing something like this!!) One of the prompts was ‘Peace and Panic’, so I decided to take that and go a more personal way with it. You can really interpret it however you wish, it’s really just meant to exist and illicit a reaction if you relate to it. Feel free to reblog it, just know this is supposed to relate to the Covid-19 pandemic and my feelings on it. So… Yeah.
