I would destroy to see some standalone art of Jon Snow (if you want)- your art style is so beautiful.
I WILL! >:) I actually already had a wip going but literally just last night I discovered some art of him that was uncannily similar… so I’m scrapping and starting over for the sake of not looking like I copied the other artist </3 but rest assured he will show up eventually
hello!!! first of all i absolutely adore your art, i kinda use it to motivate me to draw 😅😅 i wanted to ask you if you’d want to draw hotd and the x files characters in the future!! have an amazing day
hello! I'm glad to hear!! that's very kind :)
I haven't seen the X-files, so unless something possesses me to watch it someday, probably not.
Unfortunately, same with HOTD. I only watched season 1, but from what I've seen I'm not that interested in watching season 2. If I ever did fanart, it would probably be of the book versions. I like depictions of book rhaenyra
Princess Shireen Baratheon
'tolerating' no. I am savouring these. I can't believe you drew all those flowers, they look amazing, the way the colours of the figures are is so wonderful...! if you post more oc stuff I'd definitely b interested!! no pressure obvs obvs
thank u!!! mwah mwah. unfortunately unless I make something I am particularly proud of I will probably keep my oc stuff off of tumblr i think. I like to be able to delete things when I suddenly decide I hate them <3 that has been my only gripe w tumblr I have to see art I don’t like anymore floating around forever. c’est la vie
I do have a tiny IG (same username) that I post my ocs and sketches on. I don’t promo it bc I mostly post there for friends and mutuals but that is the place to find my original stuff and glimpse into my wonderful world of deranged ocs ^-^
“Blue is a good color on you, my lady,” Jaime observed. “It goes well with your eyes.” She does have astonishing eyes.
do you block anyone that doesn’t like dany
no I do not but I block liberally for other things
I dreamt of a maid at a feast, with purple serpents in her hair
i am IN LOVE with you art. i love how you draw faces and the clothing is just so good. would you ever draw alicent hightower or just any hightowers in general?
tysm!!! <333
I have gotten a few reqs I think for various hotd characters and while I won’t say I will never draw them, as of rn I don’t have any plans. the f&b /hotd characters do not grab me quite like the main series does… but perhaps someday I can do some batch portraits or something ! :)
(also the thought of having to work backwards to figure out what id imagine the fashions during the Dance would look like makes my brain explode ourrgh )
hiii your art is so delicious!!! im sorry if youve answered this already but what references do you use for clothing? all of the clothing you draw looks so detailed and accurate. could you give some pointers?
hello I procrastinated answering this bc I don’t feel like I have a very good one but I will try! I am assuming this means accurate as in fabric draping and such and not “historically accurate” bc the clothes I draw are definitely not historically accurate….
basically… scour for references. when you’re making up an outfit it’s very difficult to accurately imagine the way fabric drapes (at least for me) so most of the clothing I draw is a patchwork of several different references. not necessarily even good references. sometimes a cheap modern blouse has the right flowy sleeves and the correct angle of an arm to copy the folds for a completely different garment. look for images with similar fabric weights and textures and frankenstein them together and you can convincingly lay out folds and drapes for a nonexistent piece of clothing.
sorry if that is not very helpful! I don’t feel like any part of my process is that well suited to giving advice U_U
im curious, what fashion did you pull inspo from if not tudor? im trying to do some drawings too but im getting stumped on references
I try and pull from pre-16th century fashions but I'm not super consistent and the answer changes with time. in the first drawing i did of cersei's mourning gown i broke that rule and it definitely feels too modern to me in retrospect
I like the houppelande as the base garment for women, and for menswear i typically use clothing from late medieval Rus (i'm sorry I don't actually know the name of specific garments). I like the layered fabrics and i think it gives costumes a similar weight to the womenswear while also mimicking some of the silhouettes with the high neckline and long sleeves. i also think the use of trousers instead of western european hose creates a more recognizable visual gender divide for a modern audience. if that makes sense.
hair is just made up because grrm likes to write women with their hair down and there aren't a ton of examples of that, so i just try to mesh some fancy updo with loose hair in a way I think looks pretty.
