A New National Day Of Protest Is Set To Sweep Across All 50 States On Saturday, April 5, With Demonstrations

A new national day of protest is set to sweep across all 50 states on Saturday, April 5, with demonstrations organized under the banner "Hands Off" targeting threats to democracy, bodily autonomy, and climate justice. Organizers say the protests are a direct response to figures like President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, accusing them of undermining key democratic principles and freedoms.

"Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They’re grabbing everything they can, and it’s up to us to push back. On April 5th, we’ll take to the streets with a clear message: Hands off!" ~ ThirdAct.org

A map published by the event's website, HandsOff2025.com, shows protests stretching from Anchorage, Alaska, to Miami, Florida. Some of the largest gatherings are expected in cities like Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Philadelphia, while smaller events are planned for college campuses and public squares nationwide.

"Across the country, grassroots activists, workers, community leaders and everyday people are coming together to say that it's time for billionaires and extreme lawmakers to take their hands off our healthcare, our wages, our safety, and our rights," the spokesperson said. "Trump and his billionaire allies are openly planning a power grab to roll back our rights, strip workers of protections, and dismantle the foundations of democracy in service of tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations. The stakes couldn't be higher."

By now, you all must have seen the news that Gaza had officially run out of food, as one of the main aid suppliers in Gaza, World Food Program, had announced that their stock has been completely depleted, leaving just a few days for community kitchens to function.

This comes after more than 50 days (and counting) of Israel's complete closure of the borders, preventing food and medicine, among other life essentials, from entering Gaza. There are children crying out of hunger with trucks loaded with over 100,000 tons of food mere minutes away from them, which Israel continues to prevent from entering besieged Gaza.

This also comes after Israel had deliberately destroyed swaths of farmlands in Gaza, specifically targeting them with bombs and chemical weapons that destroy the chance of growing crops. Israel also made sure bakeries are destroyed as well as water sources.

Diabolical is an understatement when it comes to the Zionist entity.

There are still things you can do. On top of raising awareness and protesting when possible, independent organisations like APN are working directly with farmers in Gaza to rehabilitate the agricultural sector and restore local food systems to combat famine, counter the blockade and build food sovereignty. You can donate to their Revive Gaza's Farmlands initiative here.

Additionally, keep in mind that this means whatever food supplies remain available in Gaza now cost astronomical amounts of money, so keep sharing and donating to individual fundraising campaigns. Gazafunds is a good source if you're not sure where to start. Remember that your donations and shares are often the only source of hope for these families.

🚨Take a moment to imagine your child or loved one. What would you do for them? How far would you go to protect them and shield them from pain, loss and despair🚨

I am Marwa, a mother of three girls, Belasan, Joan and Nada, ages 7 to 14. 🔊🔉🔈I will take a moment to share my story.📢📣

My children and I lived under bombardment and aggression. We had a safe home full of dreams and a bright future for my daughters.

🚨Take A Moment To Imagine Your Child Or Loved One. What Would You Do For Them? How Far Would You Go

But everything changed when the war on Gaza began. Our house, which we built with strength and effort before the war, was destroyed.

🚨Take A Moment To Imagine Your Child Or Loved One. What Would You Do For Them? How Far Would You Go

We lost our job, which was our only source of income. The journey of displacement and moving from one place to another began without the minimum necessities of life. We faced difficulties in providing healthy food and clean water. We lived in fear and terror. My daughters could no longer sleep from the intensity of fear.

🚨Take A Moment To Imagine Your Child Or Loved One. What Would You Do For Them? How Far Would You Go

My mother-in-law suffers from serious lung infections and chronic diseases, and we find it difficult to provide appropriate treatment for her, especially in the winter and the bitter cold. She is part of our family after losing her husband. We are now without shelter, moving from one place to another, and struggling to survive. Today we have no income, no life, and no work. We are determined to rebuild our dreams, secure our future, and rebuild our home. We cannot do this alone and we need your help in building our lives. Your support, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us find hope on our journey.

didnt expect to be talking abt starbucks so much after i quit but it just keeps getting worse

Screenshot of the linked articles headline. ‘Morally repugnant’: Brazilian workers sue coffee supplier to Starbucks over ‘slavery-like conditions’

Brazil has been the world’s leading coffee producer due to the forced labour of enslaved Africans and Afro-Brazilians.

8 human trafficking survivors are suing Starbucks, exposing years of forced labor and child labor. the article starts with the story of a man who was enslaved at age 16 and was just rescued last year. if nothing else has convinced you to boycott, please let this sway you...

it also says the NGO CoffeeWatch is filing a complaint with US Customs and Border Protection attempting to block these corporations from importing coffees produced wholly or in part by slave labor in Brazil.

but this isn't unique to Starbucks, this is the unspoken truth of many of our goods in the west, relying on the exploitation of people in the global south. i pray all the survivors secure a massive payout, but still.. i cant imagine anything would ever make up for this kind of treatment.

You'll never know how strong you are until strength is your only option."

From the heart of Gaza, these words become more true than ever. I am Bilal Abed Rabou, and I stand before you as a survivor of five wars, an academic student at Al-Azhar University and a software developer from the besieged Gaza Strip. I witnessed the devastating effects of these conditions firsthand

You'll Never Know How Strong You Are Until Strength Is Your Only Option."

We were a family, living in peace, love and warmth. But everything changed when conflict and despair swept through our lives. Living in Gaza means confronting ongoing conflict, struggling against poverty and the lack of basic necessities to live. Life is very difficult, and even the simplest tasks seem impossible. Yet, despite all the chaos and pain, we remained grounded by the warmth of our love and the strength of our spirits.

You'll Never Know How Strong You Are Until Strength Is Your Only Option."

Even six months ago, everything changed. Our once home turned into a mess and everything we cherished. Since then, we have been lost, clinging to a world of uncertainty and despair. We left our badly damaged home with only a few things. Since then, our lives have been threatened

with every passing minute.

You'll Never Know How Strong You Are Until Strength Is Your Only Option."

But now, there is no longer a reason to stay in this place full of suffering, where we are deprived of even the most basic and important rights, education, security and peace.

Our hearts hurt because of all this injustice. We were willing to endure anything to keep our family together and provide comfort and care for our father in his time of need.

With each passing day, our despair grows and our burdens grow heavier. We need your help to break the cycle of suffering, rebuild our shattered dreams, pave the way to a better future, and reunite with our family. Your support is not just a lifeline; Rather, it is a beacon of hope in our darkest moments.

Here you will find our whole story

What isn't happening in Gaza right now?

23rd of Ramadan.

We were hoping to enjoy some safety… But we didn't even get to enjoy a little safety before the war, which never really ended, was renewed.

It was renewed after two months of "rest" that was nothing more than a pause in the bloodshed. It was renewed after two months of "rest" during which the crossings were not opened and the siege continued. It was renewed after two months of "rest" during which they took what they wanted from Gaza and then resumed the bombing and destruction. Yesterday, they besieged more than 50,000 displaced people in the west of Rafah, abusing them and carrying out massacres.

The children who were waiting for Eid… were martyred. The sound of bombing, displacement, and homelessness never leaves us.

Gaza itself is tired… tired… tired. So what about its people and its families?

We are tired of the bombing, the destruction, the displacement. We haven't even recovered from the last displacement, and now we have to leave our homes again, which we haven't even had time to rebuild? Are they going to destroy them again after the hope we had? We are tired of greedy merchants, tired of the lack of food. Imagine that in the month of Ramadan, I fast from food for 12 hours, and my main meal is hummus or sometimes rice.

We are very tired… And we need you so much in a way I've never felt before in my life. We need you more than at the beginning of the war because the war has returned even stronger than before!! Support at gofundme Link

"If the Israeli assault stopped today, and we decided to hold a funeral every single day for each Palestinian killed in the last eight months, it would take us 100 years to honor them all."

The Palestinian speaker at the UN Security Council highlights the devastating toll of casualties among Palestinians resulting from the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
