The cute boy behind the counter was swiping your card the wrong way.
You blinked at him. Should you tell him that he was holding the card upside down? The black strip that was supposed to be scanned was facing outwards, meaning that it wasn’t actually making any contact with the card machine at all. He was swiping pure plastic.
With each failed swipe the boy’s face fell a little more until he looked absolutely miserable by the fourth swipe.

Am I the only one who wishes Ubisoft would stop stuffing around with the Assassin’s Creed comics/books/movies/TV shows and just focus on the bloody games instead??? I like the idea of the little add-ons here and there but it seems like they’re just too lazy to fill in the plotholes in the game so they’re like “here, we’ll shove it into some books, but we’ll also add like twenty other irrelevant things to the plotline so it’ll be an even bigger mess than it already is!”

I went to the collab cafe just a few hours ago. I chose the last slot for today, Monday (April 9th), which started from 8:30 pm. The cafe’s location is SUPER easy to find. When you are at Ikebukuro Station, just exit from the Sunshine City exit and walk forward to the cross walk, go to the left and cross to the other side of the road. The collab cafe was on the 7th floor of the building that has a 7/11, so it is very easy to spot and locate right away. The rest is going under a Read More due to length and heavy picture usage.

The facts of the matter were that Gavin was a good cop. Despite his sour demeanour and generalised aggression towards everyone, Nines could appreciate his work ethic. It’s what made his stay partnered with the man. They got results, put away most of the criminals they tracked down and were on track to be one of the best teams at the precinct with their track record.
However, there was one little niggle. At first Nines had put it down to human error and android superiority. But the more he worked with Gavin, the more statistics and odds stacked against that logic. Some cases Gavin was deliberately flunking, he was certain. After compiling a list of those cases, Nines was certain Gavin was not as straight a cop as he liked to make out. All the times he’d “failed” to apprehend the criminal it had been a deviant at the centre of the case. It didn’t make sense though, Gavin brought in deviant criminals along with human ones too. Nines needed more information and evidence.
As luck would have it, the next case that landed on their desk involved a deviant. She’d been accused of assaulting a human male at a nightclub where she worked. Since the incident she’d been missing and her work place was questioning whether her machine status had been changed to deviant only because they were concerned about the need to pay her.
Tracking the criminal down was fairly easy all things considered. She was hiding out near her workplace, slinking between shadows of back alleys. Once Gavin spotted her he yelled “Detroit Police! Stop!” but the distance between them was far too much and the android bolted.
“You take the back route,” Gavin barked and took off after the criminal.
It was sound logic, Nines didn’t suffer from exhaustion, was faster than a human and so it made sense for him to take the longer, more difficult route. But for the first time in his life, Nines disobeyed the order to fulfil his own investigation. If his proposed hypothesis was right, there wouldn’t be a criminal to catch anyway. Like the others before, they’d have outrun Gavin who would be leaning against a wall huffing and panting while waving Nines off in the direction the perp allegedly ran.

Hello to all who are reading this! I am currently in high school and am wondering, what does it take to become a part of the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame? It has been my dream to go to ND for as long as I can remember (my dad is an alumnus) and I want to know exactly what I have to do in order to be accepted. Please message me if you attend, have applied to, or are applying to Notre Dame! Thanks!

Hi can you explain to me how you got such a cool job and what you went to school for?
Yeah! I actually got my undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in anthropology. I got this particular job because at the time, Notre Dame had a summer internship partnership with the museum- they picked an anthropology major every year to go work with the collections, and in 2011, that lucky jerk was me. So I went and that’s where I met my first advisor, who turned out to be a flustercluck of a human being (and also a total asshole, but that’s irrelevant- what’s important is that I had the internship). So I get this internship and I fall in love. I’d ALWAYS wanted to work in the Field- when I was a little kid, my plan was to grow up and be a dinosaur there. In retrospect… this was not a good plan.
So then my senior year I applied to grad school and… didn’t get in. Despite what my internship advisor had promised- turns out he didn’t have as much clout in the department as he said he did. But see, when I want something, I am very stubborn. So I went back up to Chicago and just… refused to leave. Internship director was all “I can’t pay you,” but I was all “That’s not really my problem, is it? You promised grad admissions until you were blue in the face, that didn’t happen, and I’ll be damned if I waste this year and don’t strengthen my application. You didn’t deliver, so now you’re stuck with me. I’m your problem now.”
It… was a lot more polite than that. But that was the gist- I just showed up and refused to leave.
Two days later, a different curator hired me as his research assistant. That curator is… it’s honestly difficult to say how much he means to me. He wasn’t just my boss, he was my mentor, my teacher, my friend, my surrogate grandfather. I say was, but he’s not dead or anything, he’s just retired. He’s on my committee, but he’s the reason I’m doing bioanth in Peru and not mortuary archaeology in Africa like the original plan was. He was my greatest advocate and the next year I was the first person admitted to the program. I didn’t decide on my project until my second year, when I was cooing over some really gnarly teeth in an osteology class. My friend Matt just kinda looked at me and said “Why aren’t you studying these?” and I went “…shit you’re right, why am I NOT studying these, these are my one true love.” My advisor was cool with it, so ever since then I’ve been working in the museum on a skeletal collection with really gnarly teeth.
So yeah, a combination of mule-esque stubbornness and pigheaded determination coupled with a real love for what I do!
