Clip this layer (I believe it's called Clipping button);

Set the layer's opacity to 15-20%;

Take a black brush and draw shadows where they are needed. Profit! ☆

Welly well. As an ship addict I'm sure he is neutral. Cuz he's kinda sensitive when ya call it. He has haphephobia (do I spelt it right?) (I've lose my braincells in my modules XD) and he is kinda the blushy boi type so it's his choice if he want to be top or if he is bottom..
