Uranus Banned from Tumblr???

Uranus Banned From Tumblr???

That’s right folks. Under the new Tumblr guidelines all forms of pornography are now banned from this site. That includes the solar system’s butthole. From this point forward I am not going to be able to post any pictures of the 7th planet from the sun, because the planet is not considered child safe.

When this shocking development became known, we asked other members of the solar system what they thought about the new ban.

Obviously the Lunar community was the first to respond, feeling they would be targeted next. The moon had this to say.

Luna: “Uranus banned? They better not ban me next or I am going to moon the shit about them.”

After Luna’s statement, the president of the lunar community (Ganymede) made the following statement. “The Lunar Community does not condone any acts of obscenity. I apologize for Luna’s statement, she was been in rehab lately for her moon rock addiction. She might be a little temperamental about this new ban.”

While most of the solar system community condemned Tumblr for its new ban, interesting enough there was one supporter of the ban.

Pluto of the dwarf planet community recently spoke in support of the ban. When asked why he supported the ban, Pluto has this to say.

Pluto: While everyone is busy dealing with this Tumblr banning Uranus fiasco, I can now spend my time focusing on getting my revenge against the other planets for booting me out of the planet club, and they will be too busy to even notice it. “Evil Laugh”

More news will be posted on this story as it becomes available.

Next up: Tumblr banning bunny butts? Rabbits in revolt!

Insight B System - Sixth Planet (Insight B-VI)

Insight B-VI is the outer-most planet orbiting Insight B. The planet is a Jupiter-Sized gas giant with a mass of 1.42 Jupiter Masses, and a radius of 74,962 kilometers. A thick carbon-rich ring system surround the planet.

Insight B-VI orbits its sun at an average distance of 1.74 AU, completing an orbit once every 2.79 Earth Years. A day on the planet lasts only 8 hours and 7 minutes. It is a frigid giant, the atmosphere of which averages -258 F. Monstrous storms rage in the planet’s atmosphere, powered by internally released heat.

The planet is the only world in the system to by surrounded by a major lunar system. Three massive moons larger than Mars orbit the planet, along with 3 smaller rounded satellites, and 74 asteroid-like moons.

Not space related, but wanted to see what my space engine followers thought of this question. Hoping to get some good memes out of it.

Shark Question

Are male sharks now going to be banned if their claspers are visible? Also are female sharks with scars on their face going to be banned since that can be considered sexual abuse by a male shark?

Insight B System - Fourth Planet - Insight B-V

The fifth planet orbiting Insight B is a terrestrial-like planet roughly one quarter the mass of earth (0.27 Earth Masses) and 80% of Earth’s radius (5,093.84 km). It is predominately rocky world with a significant water content in its mantle, surrounded by a thin Carbon Dioxide atmosphere.

The surface is cold with an average temperature of -159 F, and an atmospheric pressure of 0.11 atmospheres. A single small spherical satellite orbits the planet. One day lasts approximately 23 hours 38 mins. Insight B-V orbits its sun at an average distance of 0.97 AU, completing an orbit once every 1.163 Earth Years. The planet is notable for having a retrograde rotation, orbiting almost on its side with an axial tilt of 104°. Considering the planet orbits between two gas giants, the extreme tilt is to be expected.

Staying on Tumblr for now.

I just want to let all my followers know I am staying on Tumblr for now. I appreciate everyone who follows my space engine tumblr and rabbit and shark tumblr.

I am going to however check into pillowfort since i am hearing some good things about it, and might also keep a space engine blog on there as well if I like it.

If the autoflagging gets too bad, however; I might decide to leave tumblr. So that is a wait and see game. But for the foreseeable future I am staying here.

Tumblr Changes - My Thoughts

I know this post is not about space and astronomy, but I wanted to voice my thoughts about the upcoming ban on Tumblr and how the automatic algorithms are going to affect everyone on there.

First off, I do not post or follow any NFSW Tumblr, so the primary ban does not affect either my Space Engine Tumblr or Rabbit and Shark Tumblr or other Tumblr’s that I follow in that regard, but the algorithms Tumblr has created are already beginning to affect my space engine posts. I mean seriously, how are my pictures of planets, alien landscapes and nebulas being flagged as adult material?

I understand that there are nearly 450 million users on here, but Tumblr has just 400 or so employees and for their employees to go through perhaps billions of images is not practical so they had to write a program to do the work for them. Auto-flagging images however, is a major problem for us non-NFSW Tumblrs, and we are only just now seeing the start of this problem. Eventually it is going to get to the point that we all have to wait weeks even months for our “sensitive marked” pictures to be marked as safe, since an actual person will have to review it.

Final conclusion. This ban and the way it is being implemented is a bad idea, and to be honest I also think an assault on free speech. More importantly, Tumblr better fix its auto-identification programs before a lot of us leave out of frustration when pictures of planets, rabbits, and sharks are all marked as adult.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND REPOST.

Insight System - Fourth Planet (Insight B-IV)

Insight B-IV is a Saturn-Like planet with an extensive tan-colored ring system. The planet is 53,870 kilometers in radius and has a mass of 62.7 Earth’s. This small gas giant orbits Insight B at an average distance of 0.56 AU and completes and orbit once every 184.9 Earth days. A day on the planet lasts 16 hours and 24 minutes.

Weather on the planet is quite active with numerous storm systems ranging across the planet constantly. The temperatures averages -94 F.

A total of 26 moons orbit Insight B-IV, but only one of those, the third satellite is a large rounded object. Its lone large moon has a radius of 1,132 kilometers, and a mass one quarter that of our moon.

Insight System - Third Planet orbiting Insight B (Insight B-III)

Insight B-III is the giant of the Insight System, being the most massive planet of both of the system’s stars. It is a massive gas giant the nears the boundary with a brown dwarf at 11.75 Jupiter masses. The planet has an active atmosphere from both solar heating and internally released heat and has an average atmospheric temperature of 147 F.

The planet orbits the sun at an average distance of 0.21 AU, and completes an orbit once every 41.33 days. The planet is not quite tidally locked with a rotational rate of 41.67 days vs its orbital period of 41.33 days. As a result, a solar day on the planet lasts 14.00 Earth years.

No major satellites orbit the planet; however, 30 asteroid-like irregular satellites orbit the planet.

Note the star visible in the last picture is the Insight System’s primary star Insight A. Viewed from the gas giant, the star shines with an average magnitude of -17.29, bright enough that it illuminates the dark side of objects to approximately the same level of lighting as the average living room.

Insight System - Insight B-II

The second planet orbiting Insight B. This world is a more extreme version of Venus that is choked in a thick carbon dioxide atmosphere 427 times thicker than Earths. Unlike Venus, the atmosphere is humid, water vapor comprises 6.45% of the planet’s atmosphere, further amplifying the greenhouse effect of the atmosphere.

Insight B-II is a super earth with approximately 5.28 Earth’s masses, and a radius of 1.39 Earth Radii. The planet is quite dense and has a surface gravity of 2.7 g. Such a high surface gravity flattens the ground and results in only small elevation changes across the entire surface of the planet. The planet is tidally locked to the sun and orbiting at a distance of 0.09 AU. Surface temperatures average 1,182 F. Most of the surface consists of broad plains covered in shallow sand dunes.

Insight System - Post 1

First post of the Insight System.

The Insight system (named after the newest Mars lander) is a wide-spaced binary system consisting of a yellow G1V type star (Insight A) and a dimmer orange K5V type star (Insight B), that orbit each other in an elliptical orbit at an average distance of 192.3 AU. Both stars complete 1 orbit around each other every 2,432 years.

Insight A is 1.6 times brighter than our sun, and Insight B is only 1/6th the brightness of our sun.

image

Both stars have their own solar systems.

My first post if of the 6 planets orbiting the dimmer star Insight B.

TOUCHDOWN OF INSIGHT ON MARS! Man, this just never gets old. I am SO over the Moon (or Mars) each and every time our incredible civilization accomplishes such amazing technological feats. Congratulations to all who made this happen. Pop the corks!

One of the landing team members just mentioned that InSight will soon deploy instruments with which to search for water on Mars. Where there is water, there is life. It is highly unlikely that the water is sterile. I also would like to remind ourselves that life exists here in Earth where in the most inhospitable life conditions, extreme heat, extreme darkness, life exist. (At the exact time of reentry and touchdown, the street in front of my place was being blacktopped with 2 gigantic steel rollers causing the ground, foundation walls, windows to shake and vibrate. @krixomatic says, “Feels like we’re inside the lander!” I exploded with laughter. Can’t make this up.) What do you think guys? The outer-most planets form a double planet system which consist of a Mars-like world orbited by an ocean world. The ocean world once being a frozen ice-covered world melted the by expanded sun.
