one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
having online friends who are busy is just like. I LOVE YOU. I miss you. YOU GOT THIS. I'm giving you space to work. I LOVE YOU.

With apologies to Neil Gaiman.
While dead boys is trending for whatever reason, I'm taking this opportunity to share some of my favorite fics recently
The night of nights by NuriaSchnee is an amazing s2 fic that has amazing characterization and a great villain and just overall great
The case of the backup ballerina by paraph is a super well planned s2 fic, I'm not done it yet bc the first episode alone is 20k but what I've read is amazing so far
Stay the night by singtome is the third part of a musician/manager au that is so enjoyable, i read it like over a week ago and am still thinking about it
Go read them! This is a very short list bc I'm in a rush but if you want more lmk
My silly Good Omens comic!
Something possessing or influencing Edwin or taking his form and getting angry at Charles in ways that Edwin never would, not getting violent because that would make the jig immediately up but raising Edwin’s voice, clenching Edwin’s fists, things Edwin knows not to do
And after it’s all resolved Edwin is upset at Charles for something, maybe putting himself in danger, maybe something else, it doesn’t matter - what matters is that Edwin rounds on Charles to snap at him, and Charles flinches.
What a rollercoaster of feelings, right?
Sometimes people use “respect” to mean “treating someone like a person” and sometimes they use “respect” to mean “treating someone like an authority”
and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say “if you won’t respect me I won’t respect you” and they mean “if you won’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a person”
and they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s not okay.
