I love this because it is so true! I moved to California when I was almost four years old. 53 years later I still say I am from Massachusetts! It drives my family nuts because I feel I can legit sat things starting with “You Californians...”. I started losing my accent early on, kids in grammar school are mean and relentless. There are still words I say with a Boston accent. Like Gah-bonzo bean, not garbanzo bean.
